    Thank you very much for this video - it explained exactly what I needed to know about using the new version 4 dongle! No more faffing around with a cable to the server USB port - though I assume one can still do that using the usb port on the dongle, right ?
    Your product makes life so much easier. Thank you.

    • @SmartHomeIntegrations

      Thank you for the kind words. You can either use the Micro USB port or on the 8/12/16/50 kW Inverter function port there are pins labelled RSD which supplies 12V. This can be used on the new V4 Dongle that takes voltages 5-16V on the power port (double check the polarity). Look on the online store under the power cable images and also on the SmartDeyeDongle images. Should probably mention: Never use microUSB and external power at the same time

    Hi Heinz, very impressive job,Thanks !! just to be sure before ordering one with international shipment (country:France / inverter: deye 6k-sg03lp1). It must be connected to RS 485/METER port ?

    • @SmartHomeIntegrations
      @SmartHomeIntegrations  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The MeterRS485 port does not allow any feedback from the inverter. It is purely to read values from a modbus power meter. I will give you instructions to split the connection to the BMS/485 port. I also recall that the inverter is based on the 5kW design and does not allow for 12V RSD output so an external power supply such as a phone charger would be needed

    Can the module read the temperature values from the battery's BMS and CANBUS? Thanks

    • @SmartHomeIntegrations
      @SmartHomeIntegrations  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The battery sends temperature readings to the inverter via CANbus and the inverter displays it on the screen. This value is reported by the SmartDeyeDongle to Home Assistant so yes those are available in Home Assistant. There is also a dashboard that reports the temperatures on the inverter and batteries (some smaller models without any fans fitted tend to get very hot during summer and some people use this to switch on external fans). Would you care to explain your plan with the temperature information? Would love to know

    • @007silverwings
      @007silverwings 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SmartHomeIntegrations for me it's the opposite reason! 🥶 Looking to switch on/off heaters for the batteries. I've got a JK BMS that I'm hoping your smartdeye dongle will be able to interrogate through the inverter.
      Alternatively, maybe I could get another ESP32 to interrogate the battery locally via the RS485 and different coding for the BMS to read all of the individual cell voltages and various temperature readouts in the box.

    • @SmartHomeIntegrations
      @SmartHomeIntegrations  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@007silverwings It is possible to pull all the JK-BMS data into home assistant with Bluetooth and an ESP32. Do you have any CANbus between the JKBMS and inverter? (or is it one of the older pre V12 BMS). I also built a bluetooth to CAN module that updated the inverter with the required CAN info to make the earlier BMSs compatible with Deye inverters.

      The Sol-Ark/Deye/Sunsunk inverters are all from the same factory and share the same internal design and software interface.
