DS9 had the best cast. The chemistry between Armin and Rene was the best. You can tell the were friends offscreen.

Rene Auberjonois also played Father Mulcahy in the movie MASH.
He also had a recurring role on the CBS series Madam Secretary as a researcher in a Nuclear Non-Proliferation agency.
And was the pastor in the Patriot

THIS was Star Trek.
So many great characters and actors.
Avery Brooks was a professor of Acting in Theater, TV and Film at Rutgers University (Newark) before working on Deep Space Nine. This was after the two TV shows he was on "Spencer For Hire"" and "Hawk."
He was at RU's main campus in New Brunswick at the Mason Gross School of the Arts.
Jeffrey Combs voiced the AMIGUS in Lower Decks, and while a very tiny role, Marc Alaimo Played a tiny bit part as a Zandozan bounty hunter in the Last Starfighter. Colm Meaney also played a DEA agent in Con Air.

Meaney has the most Star Trek roles with Dorn as a close second. Premiered on both series.
I believe you should have mentioned Brock Peters who played Sisko's father and who appeared in "To Kill a Mockingbird" next to Gregory Peck.
if I could steal any actor's voice, Brock Peters would be high on that list. He was so great.

Aron Eisenberg also played the one Kazon who hinted at what could've been.
I recognized him immediately.
DS9 was always my favorite serious, not only because the cast was diverse but because it was so different from Next Gen. But yeah, as a Latino kid, seeing a black man as the captain, even back then blew my mind. I'll be 45 this year, and I still watch the entire series at least once a year.
Sisko was the best Captain cause we all saw the weight of The Dominion War taking a huge toll on him.

I didnt like him at all at first. But by the end, I have him the same tier as Picard.
@@ChairmanMeow1 Neither did I. He was dull and a weak captain at first. I liked him because he was vulnerable. He made mistakes and learned from them. He was also the only captain with a kid and that got to have a romance, and eventually get married.
@@DarthSideous63 That's what made the show so compelling. They all experienced life's hardships and we got to see them developed into different people. Just like real life.
*it would be very fitting for Sisko to return to Bajor after a century or more and meet the decedents of his daughter and still be revered as the historic Emissary who battled the Pah Wraiths and won*
Colm Meaney played in one of my favorite movies & best performance of an actor in Con Air (1997)

Wow it's amazing how much Cirroc Lofton looks like Avery Brooks as he's aged. If you told me they were for-real father and son, I'd believe it.
Talk about growth spurts. I remember ending Season 2 shorter than Brooks, returned season 3 taller.
Odo in Prodigy still tears me up.
Colm’s recent roll in Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia was amazing and should be seen by all.

He actually has the best line in Con Air. "THIS SITUATION NEEDS TO GET UN-F***ED RIGHT NOW!" But yeah, Colm is in everything. Also plays Tolkien's I guess father figure (?) in that Tolkien movie that came out a few years ago.

Sherry Palmer. That is the other role I remember her for. Didn't even realize she was on the Orville.

I remember Armin Shimmerman from the show Remington Steele. He was the cranky neighbor and was so good at it. 🤣
Funny, I didn't remember him at all. And I watched that show. I do remember him from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
DS9 and Fallout: New Vegas are my favorite things in their respective media (television and video games), and I greatly enjoyed the performances of Michael Dorn (Marcus the Mutant), Rene Auberjonois (Mr. House), and William "Luther Sloan" Sadler (Victor) in-game. It was a huge "you got chocolate in my peanut butter" fusion.
Nana Visitor is one my greatest idols. I love her full stop.
If you haven't done so already, I'd suggest listening to her podcast she has with her son Django. It's a pretty good podcast imo

He character didn't grow as much as the others, but she did open up and become more compassionate with her adoption of Tora Ziyal. Maybe because she was half Bajoran.

You forgot to mention that Colm Meany was also a bad guy in, "Under Siege" with Steven Segal and Tommy Lee Jones.
He was evil in SGA too. Until he got nuked.
I love the ferangee. DS9 is my favorite Star Trek series. Good to see everyone again.
Thanks to DS-9 we got to learn their entire culture, along with the Klingons.
My brother worked on the show. I got to watch the final episode filming and tour the lot and sets often

DS9 will always be my favourite trek series, I had no idea that Aaron Eisenberg had died until now and I genuinely just shed a tear for him.
I would've thought Combs in the Frighteners would be worth mentioning, as well as Colm Meaney in Con Air.
As far as Jeffrey Comb's animated voice-over work for DC, I think his role as "The Question" on Justice League Unlimited is a waaay better character than Scarecrow
Alaimo, Hertzler, and Brooks have million dollar voices.

Yes, that would be awesome. But it will be interesting how he would come back to being human again after spending all that time as one of the aliens in the wormhole.
On another note, I'd like for Avery Brooks to comeback and do a remake tv series of "77 Sunset Strip". He would play Efram Zimbelest Jr.'s role, but would play it "cool", like Hawk, & would run the PI agency, Hell, you could have Cirroc Lofton come back as "Kookie", and be the man on the street with all the angles, and the women.
Michael Dorn could come back as a tough LAPD detective/contact for Avery's character. Man, that would be a cool way to reunite the DS9 cast that are still with us.
You forgot about Colm Meany being in Under Siege as Daumer and Rene Auberjonois in the M.A.S.H Movie as Father Mulcahy.
Colm Meaney was also a pilot in Die Hard 2

Thanks so much for this one! DS9 was always my fav, so character rich. But had heard that many Star Trek fans did not like it due to it being a stationary station rather than a ship traveling thru space. So IMO they were missing the whole point of so many great characters … introducing so much galactic diversity that who knows, we as humans need to be ready for any day now … please.

I'm surprised that you forgot one very important role Andrew Robinson played in besides Hellraiser, he also starred in and played the lead role of none other than Liberace.
Marc Alaimo was also the alien bounty hunter/hitchhiker in The Last Starfighter.
He was also the one who told Michael Ironsides character that all the bulkheads were connected in Total Recall.

Dorn was also "Weasel" in the I am Weasel cartoons, he was the American President in "Heroes", and he lent his voice to characters like the original Goliath, and later to Tassadar/Ouros in the Starcraft franchise
You mentioned often important roles before DS9, so for Nicole de Boer should be mentioned Cube.
Cube is sooo good.

I remember their being a tense one on one scene with her and Bauer matching wits and me thinking how electric the chemistry was.
Barry Jenner was also Carl Winslow's boss on "Family Matters"

Jeffrey Combs also played the Dollmaker in "Gotham," which was a perfect callback to his Re-Animator role.

He's representing Kirk and Bones in the klingon courthouse.
That's such a good film and I highly recommend the pc game klingon Academy that acts as it prequel.
The cutscenes are magnificent and the story building sets you up perfectly for the film.
I still waiting Sisko appears on Picard, even it's just a Cameo!

Armin's head looks comically small when he's not wearing the ears and head... it's just how I've gotten used to seeing him when I hear his voice. I can't help it!
René Auberjonois was also in several episodes of Warehouse 13.
Always happy to see my favorite video game. Almost forgot 2 DS9 people voice acted for that game. One is unmistakable (he was also in Fallout 2), but never noticed Mr. House was Rene until a few years ago. Best Trek series and best video game.

I thought Colm Meaney was the first to transition from TNG to DS9, I remember the episode where he appeared on the bridge and said goodbye to everyone, long before TNG finished.
The first time I saw Rene Auberjonois was as the Priest in MASH from the early 70's.
Got to work briefly with Andrew Robinson many years ago. Very cool guy. 😊

Love Deep Space Nine! Have watched all of the StarTrek series. This one is my favourite. All those strange species. Wonderfull! Don't understand any of the technical stuff(who would?) So,that's quite boring. But other than that it's exiting,sometimes sad,sometimes funny. What I like most of all are the Ferengis,espially my beloved Quark,with his love of latimun. And ,strange as it may sound,I think Gul Dukat is a very handsome man!
