Hey josh, I'm continuing with the tips (some of these are repeated from my comment last vid incase you don't see that one): *Base* : - *THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE: Scanner room HUD upgrade.* This will mean the items found show up on your HUD (similar to how beacons work). Make sure you *equip* this onto your player character if the game doesn't do it automatically. (similar to equipping an O2 tank). Make the upgrades in the fabricator in the scanner room - Base building. You need to ensure that the wall you try to build out from on your base has nothing on it (like lockers) internally. That's why it didn't let you build a lot as the lockers are mounted to the wall so you can't just make a hole behind them. - In terms of the moonpool requirements it needs a good amount of empty space below it. In the moonpool you can also use a special fabricator mounted in the vehicle upgrade bay to make some other upgrades for your vehicles. *Power* : As mentioned by many other people your base is not going to cut it just with solar panels. - Make a *bioreactor* and throw organic material into it to power your base. - Later on you can move to thermal or nuclear power. With thermal you can use power transmitters to transport the energy to your base. *Plants* : As you suspected some plants have to be in an outdoor growbed and not an indoor one. You'll have to just experiment to find out which ones work where. Ribbon plants and gel sacks are outdoor growbeds and some of the most important *Food and drink* : - Most things will hydrate you if you consume them straight after cooking or picking them up. - The thermos will give you ONE sip of coffee to get you up 50 body heat. *Exploration* : - Every since you got the alien in your head *sea monkeys bring stuff to you they DO NOT steal from you* so don't worry about avoiding them. - The area with the *bigger monsters* (on the way to the radar tower where you were ambushed by the NPC in the prawn suit) contains lots of goodies. - Make a rebreather when you find the blueprint to get rid of the penalty on diving below 100m. The blueprint is somewhere in the area with twisty bridges. - Go back into the mine and go a bit deeper, you'll find some useful stuff which you'll need to explore the mine better. - I'm keeping these hints spoiler free if you want more specific hints towards exact areas let me know but I think the fun of the game is organically finding them! You need an upgrade for the scanner room that marks everything found on your hud. Also make full use of the scanner room just saves a lot of time. Believe me with the upgrade, your life will get a lot easier and workflows smoother.
Your Moonpool wouldn't connect, because you didn't build the compartments. You only placed the blueprint for them. New pieces can't connect to placed blueprints, only to actually built pieces. Later on in the video I think it wouldn't connect because of the same issue you had in the previous episode with the Scanner Room: the rotation. I commented this on that video: About the confusion of the Scanner Room not connecting: no, it doesn't have to connect to the Multipurpose Room, you just needed to rotate it. It couldn't connect there, because with your selected rotation there'd be an interactable panel on that wall, which prevented the connection. If you had rotated it once or three times, it should've connected. The Scanner Room isn't the only building that has that "issue" by the way, so next time try rotating your buildings when they don't connect.
yo josh at 4:44 mins in that fish that came out of it's cocoon, chased you and exploded. Is a material inside the cocoon that is rare and important for later uses. It should be a powder of some sort.
the moonpool might not fit bc you need a large clearing underneath it for the seatruck to fit, alternatively could be that you have something in the way inside on that side of the existing structure. also you need to keep a close eye on the hull strength, the headache is not worth it if you go negative 😂
For your moon pool it will connect to your multi purpose room you just need to remove the lockers and posters of your multi purpose room wall for it to snap
The big scary thing you keep avoiding (the one that is blueish and has a weird mouth) is actually not that aggressive if you stay away and can be turned away by stabbing it once, so don't be deterred from going into those areas
Another thing Josh, with the fridge construct it allows you to keep food stored and not go rotten so it'll be good to have one of those in your base as well as a water filtration unit
Hey Josh .... one of the things you need most is the re-breather which is low down in the twisty bridges not far from where the beacons are to Alan's home , when you're down there there is an entrance to a deeper part where there is quite a few diamonds and the odd squid shark and nasty " grabby plants " lol , i think the lockers and posters on the opposite sides of the walls are causing you problems when trying to build new rooms or corridors , maybe a good name to put on the sea truck would be " T8 " as it shows up on the side of the truck a bit like a licence plate :) , loving the series and am a big Tommy T fan .... take care :)

The blue and black creatures with the claws are aggressive, but they will go away once you hit them once with the knife swing, and they don't do that much damage, so don't be too afraid of them.
If he were to actually scan the animals he could also learn this. It literally says that those animals are cowards that will back off immediately if their target retaliates.
Incase you don't see it on the last video, if you get the Seatruck Perimeter Defense Upgrade then you can electric shock the creatures when they attack you and stop them from breaking the seatruck
As well as sea monkeys not stealing things from you, you can also put creature eggs in the bioreactor to use as fuel for your base, and the moonpool does not connect to anything, it's a standalone structure which only connects to the base for power. Also call your seatruck 'SEAZERKK'

Maybe you can´t connect buildings because you have stuff in the way on the inside? To close for it to make a stairway or whatever it does? That and your structure may not be strong enough for the -5 the moonpool gives, maybe put more wall enforcement up for it to hold up. Your base hull strength total is 3 now. And the Bioreactor is good for your rotten food you trow out anyway
I had issues with my moon pool as well but what I did was I connected two I compartments to each other using a ladder and that worked and let me put the moon pool to the one above the original compartment
He litterally swam like 200-300metres down before he got the sea truck now he can't go past 150 cause of the sea truck. Should just make the distance with the seatruck and jump out and dive, just use it as an oxygen point so you don't have to go to the surface
You could try some sort of simulator, survival or sandbox game. No Mans Sky is one such game or Starfield when it comes out. Everspace 2 is also a good shout if you want some shooter type of game. You can try the farming simulator, I believe it has co-op now. Outer Wilds is a very good game which you can try. It's relatively short, and beautiful to look and hear. Play it at least once. You can also try out Stray, again its aesthetically pleasing game, short and beautiful to look at
Josh could you play ARK Survival and if you enjoy it you should play it with the sidemen on moresidemen, making a short series, either with two teams ore just one, and a possible ark Olympics at the end of the series

I had issues with my moon pool as well but what I did was I connected two I compartments to each other using a ladder and that worked and let me put the moon pool to the one above the original compartment
Maybe you should relocate the base to a place with flatter ground.
