So, which one of you bought the waifu pillow? That vid was nicked from amazon btw, lol. If you like my shit I could use your support: www.patreon.com/gcmckay - gonna be reviewing some books over there soon. I'll also take requests. After making my way through Chris Williamson's 'must-reads' I can confidently say, without a modicum or even infinitesimal shred of doubt, that they suck. And by suck I mean to the point of conspiracy. Should've known 'modern wisdom' was a paradox.
While it might not offer viewers quite the same dopamine-hit as seeing a new GCM video that's an hour-plus in length (always a good sight to open one's browser to), this is honestly one of your best pieces in recent memory. Keep up the good work/focus...if you can! o_0
One issue with these general statements is that they pertain to most, but not all people. It's like discussing men under 185 cm - sure, most men are under 185 cm, but those 10% that aren't are still extremely numerous. For example, I do not use smartphones for browsing at all because I get a headache after only about 10 minutes of staring at the screen. I hate the infinite scroll and often spend little time on it because it is impossible to quickly see older messages conveniently, so it creates an obnoxious novelty bias and takes away control. It would be interesting to comment not on things that 80% users take away from a medium, but also the different things that 15% users do, or even 5%. Something that is common enough to be a pattern, but not so common that it pertains to most people.
It's interesting to note that the idea of the form determining the nature of the content was already proposed by Kierkegaard. In his analysis of Mozart's 'Don Giovanni', he says that music, being non-representational and dealing with emotions only in an immediate, indeterminate way, is the perfect medium to speak about natural, unrestricted emotions, which 'Don Giovanni' - an opera about a guy whom women are attracted to as if by a law of nature - is the perfect example of, as it unites form and content. Yet, for Kierkegaard, while 'Don Giovanni' unifies these two forces, it doesn't accept a comfortable aesthetic unity as the absolute end of its art. It transcends this purely intellectual understanding through its almost absurd moralising ending, where Don Giovanni is dragged to Hell by hoardes to demons for being unchaste. At once uniting form and content, yet surpassing this false union in the higher universal of ethics.

Thought provoking video G.C... I did watch it in the background and paused it a number of times to watch some tiktoks but I think I got the gist.

Absolutely fantastic
I love you GC.

Donate to this man, ya kuntz. I know you have the scratch. I'm talking to YOU.
Just remember to turn off infinite scroll in your ebook reader.
Lol, I actually had to do that. Had me worried for a second that you couldn't turn it off.
Yeah, man, forego those tangible books. Ya gotta eat. Adapt and overcome...
Great video. My only criticism would be... I hate the sound of your voice.
