I’m active duty military and have traveled to more than 22 countries, as well as spent some significant amount of time in the Philippines 🇵🇭 and Thailand 🇹🇭. Everything you said was factual. My money went further in the Philippines. I’ve had relationships with both Thai and Filipina women and I’ve found that I’m more attracted to Filipino women because of their personality, curves and overall swag. Although I once knew someone from Thailand, I have never been there. My misfortune. But I have been to the Philippines. In fact, I lived there for 6 years and plan to return to stay very soon. The Thai friend I had made me very interested in Asian women. It's kind of funny because when I met my soon-to-be wife at that time, I thought that by the way she looked, there must not be much of a difference between Thai and Pinay women. From what I have learned over the years, it seems cultural, there probably isn't that much of a difference. From what this brother says about his experience in both places, I would have to agree.
    One thing I wonder about the people from Thailand after my Philipines experience. Many Filipinos are color struck. White is right and dark is not. I once had a person in a department store try to give me skin bleaching bath soap when I couldn't find any non-bleaching bath soap on my own. I decided to be a little playful and told her that I was very happy with my skin color as it is. She looked completely shocked and responded with a shocked-sounding expression and voice..."you are"? So my question is, are Thai people color struck in this way as well?
    Unlike the brother in this video, I have had some racist encounters with a few Filipinos. One was playful...At least I think they thought they were being playful as they made monkey sounds and gestures in my direction. The other was an inlaw that was overheard saying he would not come to a family get-together at our house as long as that "N" is there. Not long after that, he died.
    To all and everyone I meet, I always encourage people to visit the Philippines. I've been to a lot of places. My favorite up until now is hands down, the Philippines!

    • @ZoomToThailand
      @ZoomToThailand  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Thanks for explaining that. Racism exists everywhere in the World. I just have personally not experienced it. Yet. :)

    • @ZebraFacts
      @ZebraFacts 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No disrespect to either of you brothers. Each of our experiences are our own and from living and traveling back and forth to the Philippines for 13 years total, I have experienced at least a little of everything I experienced growing up in the US from the 50s until now. Not including some surprisingly new forms of racism.
      The first form of racism I noticed on my first visit to the Philippines back in 2005, was that old reminder of how American "White" owned businesses that did hire a few Blacks, would place the lighter skinned Blacks (especially women) at any position that would interact with White customers. You will notice when you visit the Philippines, (and I highly suggest you do), you will see lighter skinned Filipinos in those same positions. The darker Filipino workers will almost always be the ones cleaning and security.
      I used to travel a lot. To get somewhat an idea of what to expect at my destination, I would read a lot of reviews. I highly suggest when traveling to South East Asia, or anywhere for that matter... Read reviews. Focus on the local's reviews. Look at how they are treated by their own country men and women. Many Filipinos will tell you they are very disappointed in how their own descriminate with other Filipinos. Sometimes it is just about economics but more often it is about skin tone.
      I don't see such a strong reason for Black and Brown people to not live in the Philippines, anymore than Whites, but regardless of your skin color you are seen as a foreigner. There can be danger in that fact. There is also great rewards for foreigners. I would say that can be said wherever you go or choose to live.
      I count myself very blessed. I don't think my wife is the typical Filipina. I don't care who you are. If you are threatening to me or our children, I'm not sure of the lengths my wife may go in letting you know that isn't a wise idea. I don't know what she said to those guys that made monkey sounds and gestures towards me, but their smile dropped quickly. What I did know at the time, was that the then mayor was who the current President is. He has made it clear that threatening foreigners may be life threatening for whoever chooses to play that game. There may be other factors, but my wife has stepped up a number of times, even with a few family members, and the all back down very quickly. Even a few times when police have attempted to take advantage of me as a foreigner.
      All of this may scare those of you that have never been to the Philippines. Please don't let these experiences have that effect on you visiting the Philippines. It is a paradise. The people are generally very respectful, friendly and accommodating. I look at it this way. In my own country, when I walk out of my home to go anywhere... even my front yard... even while in my house, it comes to my mind that at any moment the police may assault or kill me. I never felt like that while living in the Philippines. Here in LA, the police constantly attempt to let Black men in particular, know that they are a danger to you.
      Whenever they pull along side of my car, I can see them starring. All the way until they get far enough to see my very fair skinned wife. With neck breaking speed, the quickly turn their gaze away from us.
      When any of my people say they have never experienced racism, I believe they have taught themselves to look past it. Where ever you go in this world where you are a rarity, I believe you will experience racism. It is a human condition. I felt a bit of (I would call it nationalism because you can't be racist against your own ethnicity) when I visited Nigeria. I was told it was very clear that I wasn't Nigerian whenever I spoke. I received some "evil eyes" here and there. Just like the Philippines, most of the Nigerians I came in contact with were very receptive of me. They spoke of our kinship.
      Sorry for the long comment, but there is so much to be said on this subject. There is a very good reason there were a lot of brothers that stayed behind in the Philippines after world war two.
      This TH-camr does a pretty good general assessment of South East Asia and its people.
      I wanted to share his video on my Philippine Facebook page, but there is a little bit too much female beauty (if you know what I'm saying) for my mission there.
      Keep up the great videos brother, and I hope to meet you one day when I get back to the Philippines.

    • @tk2764
      @tk2764 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@b-41subject57 Any country that's endured some length of western colonization will inevitably have that preference for lighter skin. It's been ingrained into their culture the same way hollywood teaches young children that prince charming can be no other than a blue eyed, blonde hair white fella. What i've noticed in the Philippines is that the economic class of the certain individual will determine which color bias you may encounter. Poor, province girls fall into that fairytale hollywood trap and thus prefer a white american or european for financial security and because they believe having half-white children will be a net positive for the family since blue eyes/blonde hair equals better treatment. Well-to-do filipinas prefer lighter skinned fellas because it's seen as a sign of higher economic social status as opposed to being darker skinned meaning you're more than likely a poor farmer, etc...kinda like the old leathernecks of america. Rich locals tend to stay out of the sun thus no tan and much lighter skin...although one weekend at the beach changes all that anyway. But in short, visit and experience it for yourself and you will be pleasantly surprised how well you are treated. You may still encounter racism but it won't be to the level of malice like in america, moreso due to ignorance. I've met a few black fellas while down in mindanao and they liked the country and people enough to permanently move there.

They were there and looking fine, but so were the Koreans, Spanish, Russian, French, Swedes, Germans, Australian girls..... it was the biggest party I have ever seen that no one nationality dominated. It was a true melting pot of awesome.
    When they say "Full Moon", they are not just talking about the actual moon itself. You are out there partying for the full time that moon is in the sky. It was like 5am and they were still serving drinks and dancing, and I am not talking about 50% of the crowd that was there at midnight, I am talking about tens of thousands of people still going hard into hour 5 or 6 or 8 for some of them. I did not leave my resort for the next two days because of the toll all that drinking and dancing and other stuff took, and I was in good shape.
    That Full Moon party is a young man's game.

    Bro love your videos. Straight facts! But FYI the lost and missing gem that you need in your life is a trip to Kathmandu Nepal. As a single man Nepal is the best place on earth. The culture is rich. Take a trip over the weekend and respond back telling me what you think. Or do what you do best brother. Nepal is video worthy to the MAX!!!

    I’m very happy to have discovered your vlog because I was looking to move to the Philippines to pursue my music and my soulmate but it was very frustrating because I was met with lots of racism and cheating women in my research on Thai I’ve discovered numerous recording studios in and near bang saray called karma studios also I’m Buddhist so Thai feels more comfy that’s for the heads up bruh

    I find both Countries are far more open-minded and inclusive of “others” than Japan or South Korea, where xenophobia still exists today. Sounds like you made a good choice and you can live like a King on a very low budget over there. I personally would be concerned about the quality of medical care, including sanitation in hospitals after hearing about friends’ experiences. 🥴

      I’ve never been to Japan and South Korea but I’ve heard similar stories. As far as healthcare? Thailand is one of the best in the world! So far so good. Pray for me!

      I’ve been to Japan multiple times. The accounts of them being xenophobic is exaggerated. Japanese people are very welcoming of foreigners and I got shown a lot of love there every time I’ve been there. They have a love and appreciation for black culture in particular that you don’t find in other Asian countries.

      @@CyrussNP Sure, if you’re going there for casual flings, but apart from being used as a Blck sexual fetish, good luck finding a job (excluding English tutoring), place to live, and accepted in their main stream culture. I know several non-Asians who couldn’t find 1 landlord to rent them an apt. without an intervening local who vouched for them.

    Good analogy, I've always said the same thing. I'm from SoCal to, and I've always thought Filipinos are the black people of Asian culture to. They've adopted a ton of black hip-hop culture, and now added their own flavor to it.

    My fiancee is a filipina and she's the best. She's thick, beautiful, great cook, loves family, always takes care of me, and gives me anything I want. Philippines wins because the people are great, weather is better, and everyone speaks English
