I had no idea the Primaris marines were bigger (literally ordered my first batch of minis and bunch of paint last week) , can't wait to get done with this batch of 10 marines and continue on with some Primaris ones
That was great to watch! I'm very new to the hobby and just finished painting my 4th space marine. Right now I'm practicing with precision especially on the eyes but I've been going with a dry brush technique for edge highlighting as it seems very forgiving. A video on tips for getting better with those tight areas and edge highlighting would be great!
Thanks. I really like how it turned out as well. Back when this was released, I was figuring out how to best relay information for hobby videos. Well I suppose I still am, but I think my approach now is definitely more digestible😅
@@WhatThe40k oh for sure it's just im only just getting into the hobby so a lot of things go over my head. but yeah i think out of all the videos i've watched i'd like my astates to look like these :)
Honestly, its been so long since I did the model. From what I can recall, I believe it was -black primer- Citadel Macragge blue -Instar ocean blue ( Citadel EQ is Caldor Sky).
Glad you enjoyed it. I definitely can do a Salamander video in this style. He will be glorious! A battle brother worthy of the new supplement! Which I am hoping comes around sooner rather than later.

Damn that was fun to watch. Perhaps something of the sort could be used as background visuals in a video? Either way I've subscribed and I'm looking forward to more of your videos.
Not bad at all but I've noticed that when anyone paints their marines as the Ultramarines it's always, always a member of the 2nd company, never the 3rd or 5th and never ever seen anyone paint them as a member of a reserve company like the 6th or 8th company. I guess that glitzy, glamorous gold grabs your attention more.
Thanks! Yeah had to go with the second company. This model is for a display board project so it was necessary for me to go with the standard look. I agree its a bit of a shame, but it largely is a colour theory thing. Certain chapters base colours are better suited for specific companies. Its why I did my Imperial Fists in the 5th company. The yellow and black looks too good :)
@@WhatThe40k Yeah, I see your point and if I were to paint up Ultramarines, I'd do 3rd company because I like blue accented with a bit of red. 6th company Ultramarines could be mistaken for Florida Gator fans!!
Fantastic!! watching a lot of ultramarines painting tutorial I cant see no one which the bluo color I want. This is thaht im looking for! and without airbrush. Thanks!! Ah, where can I find the ocean blue?
i use an light brighter none water using ultra marine by another company as well as my mcragge blue my reaction when i saw this vid was he paints just like me haha
This is one of the best painted Ultra marine i have seen well done mister👍👌
Damn. That is a really good painting method. Looks like it came out of a poster.
Really fun to watch, excellent painting, I look forward to having a go myself. Thanks
very nice
That is one cool looking mini.

Sounds fun! Which chapter are you building?
@@WhatThe40k got myself s psck of Space Marines Tactical Squad. Always wanted to get them, never did. Now Im 28, seemed like the perfect time
That was a great watch! Recently decided to get into the hobby and starting my primaris ultramarines army :)
Glad you enjoyed it! And, welcome to the grim dark future. Courage and Honour!

Welcome to get hobby! An excellent request. I can throw together a quick video on, 'tight spots'.
Awesome video dude loved the colours! You should do a technique tutorial.on edge highlighting.
I figured there were other painting channels which covered the technique so I didn't really think about it... Thanks for the idea!
i'd love to watch you do this whole thing step by step without it skipping so much. overall though i love how this looked

Did you prime the model with chaos black before base coating the macragge blue or just macragge? Thanks
Good question. I primed black and base coated with the macragge blue.
@@WhatThe40k thank you!
did you do any undercoats at all before the first blue coat at the start?

This is an excellent idea! Also thanks for subscribing.
The best I ever seen. How many layers of blue you gave?
Haha thanks. Honestly I can't recall. If I had to guess.... between 5-10?. It was a gradual build up to be certain.

I can see that the citadel equevalent is teclis blue
I bought Instar's paint online from their site. I believe that's the only way to get them.
