Wow, I can't believe this. Google seriously fucking flagged this video, of a video game he made himself? This has already happened a few times, but this goes full-time ridiculous. What a fucking trainwreck. Ugh, even though VVVVVV is my favorite indie game...
Google is not responsible for someone abusing their system by filing a bogus copyright claim. According to Terry's twitter, *****/@Indmusic made the claim
most probably he has chosen to use the YT music, which leads to: - the subject message on "no stats due to (c) claims" - no possibility to earn on this video
This looks fantastic. What I do really like is the Jey Set Willy-esque vibe to it, with the simplistic character design (graphically) and the screen titles. I do hope there is at least a "We Must Perform A Quirkafleeg" shout-out.
The soundtrack is amazing, the game is challenging yet fun, and there's so many original ideas despite being influenced by many classics. Best few bucks I've ever spent, seriously. Y'all should get it right now.
Looking absolutely brilliant, Terry! Cannot wait to play this game once you release it. Love the chiptunes too; extremely catchy. The level design looks absolutely solid and quite challenging. Shaping up to be one damn fine freeware title!
Played this at the Leeds Eurogamer Expo and I absolutely LOVED it! God of War III was round the corner to me and I was fiddling with this for half an hour! Can't wait for the release! :P
Heeey Terry! I remember playing this on the second day of the game's expo! Can't wait to go through the entire game. Only managed to do the final stage, which took forever. Can't wait to download it! =D
The music is beyond normal levels of awesome. Far beyond. And the game looks crazily imaginative, too. This looks like'd be the perfect candidate for a DSiWare/XBLA Indie Games/iPhone/whatever release. I know I'd buy it.
This is a... really well put together little video, actually. Somehow the video fits perfectly to the music (segment deployment and stuff I mean) and the music in turn fits when we see the little dialogue, and Vermilion's 'Don't worry Sir, we'll find a way out of here.' is time Just right somehow and.. hm.
@TrinFlick: Actually, it's both things. The name has multiple meanings. It represents both the spikes AND the names. Also, as screenON14 reminded, it represents the bouncing up and down, up and down, up and down, as well.
One of the best games I played with one of the best soundtracks ever made. It took me around one and a half hour to beat with around 580 deaths... Oh well I still loved every bit of it.
@MassivelySkilled Actually, when you think of it, the game name makes sense for more than one reason. There are 6 crewmates whose names start with the letter V, the map calls your location "Dimension VVVVVV", there are tons of spikes and the letter V looks like a spike. Also, 5 dollars for a game that takes at least 500 deaths on the first try, has quite a few optional challenges and has a level editor (and bonus levels by people who used it) is actually a pretty good deal.
I've played the demo, and I can wholeheartedly say that I really enjoy this game. It's a little difficult at times, but I NEVER feel the "bad" kind of frustration that lesser games might give. If I can just find a way to PAY for the full version, I'd buy it in a heartbeat (no bank account, no Paypal, nothing).
@oliverjon80; Realtime. The game's fast, requires some skill to play (especially true if you want to get the collectibles and unlock extras) and it's a total blast to play. Don't underestimate it because of the minimalistic graphics, it's one of the best videogame in ages. My only complain about it was the lenght since it's fairly short to complete.
This game is one of the most rage inducing games I have ever played lol. After like 5 minutes in your just get sooo frustrated. Very hard game but very fun.
looks a bit ascii inspired, reminds me of something i would've spent ages trying to make Megazeux do back in the day. lovely. i don't know, but this song might actually be the best song ever.
My original comments were made before Terry had announced the game would be pay-to-play. My "freeware" terminology subtly referred to VVVVVV's indie game status as well. I wasn't attempting to say something I did not at the time know would end up being the case. Good lord, man. Lighten up.
@TrinFlick Or it represents W W W, because W represents VV, and the game's thematic is computeric, so internet is almost a neccessary component of a computer.
@Retubetard: It also represents the names of the crew members. Vermillion, Violet, Victoria, Vitellary, Vergridis and, obviously, Captain Viridian. "VVVVVV"
@tree841 cos we know that games are more than just some think we look at, this game has ace music and very good game play, were most games that come out today are just to pass abit off time till the next big thing come out. well back to the game its self, just love to opening loading screen reminds me off when i played games as a young boy :)
I've noticed this music sounds like Ryu's stage at parts but Balrog's stage at others. More-so Balrog to me. Street Fighter themes, that is. Anyhow, awesome game with awesome music!
Omg, this is clearly badass and awesome, and the first 8-bit music soundtrack that felt truly awesome to me.
Wow, I can't believe this. Google seriously fucking flagged this video, of a video game he made himself? This has already happened a few times, but this goes full-time ridiculous. What a fucking trainwreck. Ugh, even though VVVVVV is my favorite indie game...

there's no punishment for flagging content, even if it's fraudulent.
johnr754 What ***** said is true. Google sometimes makes false accusations on videos.
most probably he has chosen to use the YT music, which leads to:

22vvv The music in the video is in the game.
This looks fantastic.

This game is freaking awesome. I don't remember when was the last time I had this much fun playing a platformer. Excellent job, Terry!
bro go play sum fortnite lmaoo
Thanks for releasing it on 3DS
Cute video. I love the little smiling "hero" of the game. :D
Amazing game. It's already one of my favourites for 2010 next to Heavy Rain.
I'm angry because I bought this for $15 back when Cavanagh said "It's not going to be on Steam."
Got it for 3DS at $8, one of the best eShop games.
Looking absolutely brilliant, Terry! Cannot wait to play this game once you release it. Love the chiptunes too; extremely catchy. The level design looks absolutely solid and quite challenging. Shaping up to be one damn fine freeware title!
Damn, that was 13 years ago
@Falke Borg That it was, which is wild. Hard to believe it's been that long.
@@Jockolantern And the fact that you replied litterally 1 hour later, I was honestly not expecting that
@@falkeborg9432 I am sure you were not. ;) I always try to respond to remarks I get on my comments, no matter how far back they go.
I could really go for a release of the soundtrack. Dese beats are pretty fresh.
Played this at the Leeds Eurogamer Expo and I absolutely LOVED it! God of War III was round the corner to me and I was fiddling with this for half an hour! Can't wait for the release! :P
It blows my mind how cool this music sounds, even being 8-bit.
I love it how he has a constant cheesy grin despite being trapped in a demented dimension
I heard a few seconds of VVVVV from a random video doing a timelapse and I was like:
*wait i've played this.*
Terry, you are the man. 2 out of 3 people at Fakepup own this game (that makes two). Great work, can't wait to finish it.
- Miguel -
This looks like it is very well crafted from a gameplay perspective. Also it looks INSANELY HARD.
Wow, dude.
This looks fantastic.
Color me excited.
I didn't know it was possible for something to be both enjoyable and PTSD inducing, but the music from this game is exactly that.
The soundtrack is made of pure awesome and win, especially the "outdoor" track and the one is this vid.
Heeey Terry!
I remember playing this on the second day of the game's expo!
Can't wait to go through the entire game.
Only managed to do the final stage, which took forever. Can't wait to download it! =D
Why did they call it VVVVVV?
Becuz there are 6 characters in the game and the name of everyone start by V
And also the Spikes
Damn you guys are responding to a 10 year old comment they probably abandoned that TH-cam account lmao
It symbolises going up and down, up and down, up and down. I know it's a decade later, just wanted to make sure you got the right answer for once.

I bought this game through Steam. It has been loads of fun. Thanks.

I'm loving the Cave Story vibe!
Thank you for making this game. One the hardest but I love it!
One of the best games I played with one of the best soundtracks ever made. It took me around one and a half hour to beat with around 580 deaths... Oh well I still loved every bit of it.
It's difficulty is abated somewhat by the commonness of checkpoints, which also makes it a lot more fun.
This game actually looks like a lot of fun! I will be waiting for the 3DS version next week.
@MassivelySkilled

Sweet, can't wait for it to come to the e-shop.
You teleport Veridian into the Space Station for 15 minutes and he almost destroys the universe.
Coming to Switch
The editing was really good
I got the 500th comment!
Absolutely loving the game so far!
HOLY CRAP THE MUSIC IS AMAZING!!!
This game is amazing, I would definitely recommend it to everyone! Great work!

Two things that make this game an instant sell for me. Metal Storm gravity looking stuff and a kick ass soundtrack!

Man.. this game looks brain-twistingly fun! Can't wait to try it out. :) Sound track rocks too....
Playing the game for review purposes (gameon pt), loving every bit of it
this is a reviewers dream.
Great game, i played the demo. The music is amazing.
the game and music are greatness
@neilsil it also called VVVVVV, because you go up and down and up and down and up and down all the time.
@oliverjon80; Realtime. The game's fast, requires some skill to play (especially true if you want to get the collectibles and unlock extras) and it's a total blast to play.

@MrInfernow By the "Lies" and "'Obey" stuff i was reminded of the movie They Live.
The music is fantastic.
If you liked 5, be sure to check out the mod, Dr. Wily's Dream Space. You're going to have some... fun with the gravity parts.
simplesmente os melhores jogos, que não fazem tudo por você...
Tinha que usar a cabeça, saudadessss
Gravity Man was my favorite level in Mega Man 5. Now I find they made an entire GAME out of it? Awesome.
This game is one of the most rage inducing games I have ever played lol. After like 5 minutes in your just get sooo frustrated. Very hard game but very fun.
Music........ The awesomeness...... Eargasm..
If this looks fun, go try the demo on their website. It's awesome.
I would love to see this and Super Hexagon played like that. Terry Cavanagh would make bank!
Woah this game actually looks so cool! Thanks Charlie xD
Check now, it is now available but took a while. There is a delay with the linux version though so I'm waiting until that is out.
looks a bit ascii inspired, reminds me of something i would've spent ages trying to make Megazeux do back in the day. lovely.
i don't know, but this song might actually be the best song ever.
if you mean dieing about 1000 times trying to get accross 1 gap, then hell no. if you mean epic music played as you run, HELL FREAKING YES!
I can't help but notice how hard this game looks--and I've never even played it! (or heard about it until a few days ago)
Thank you for making this game.
Well, hell, it's about TIME someone remade Metal Storm!
That is some sweet ass music right there.
Looks so wonderful! Bought it on steam today!
OMG I want a go! VVVVVV looks awesome!

best indie game of the decade.
amazing soundtrack too :)
bought it on steam for 4.99, it is worth at least 5 times that!

Arrgh hexagons, too many hexagons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Playing this now on 3DS. Just downloaded it from the eshop for $8, really fun!! :)
Specially when they're good size and all
Oh my god. The song is so fucking cool. Suits the game, which looks awesome as well.
Great oldschool feeling :)
I'm getting a really "Monty on the Run" vibe from this.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS GAME!!!
Not to mention MetalStorm... just great games!
this brings me joy

@infocentreYT souleye.se is place for the soundtrack!

Holy fuck that release date is wild
I saw this on Notch's Blog. I'am gonna buy it :D
I played this game on the NES when it was called Metal Storm.
Wow, this looks great. I love the music and all the random shit in the video!
