Some of the animated work shown in this video was done by me! I'll throw the timestamps 1:14, 5:52, 7:32, 12:24, 12:50 ALL motion graphics work, text editing, and transitions were done by yours truly :D
I dont blame you Sam, you're not the only one going through this, the job market and the economy in general is collapsing on itself and the elites that run all of it don't really seem to care. Here's what I recommend: - Make a job off of TH-cam: Maybe reactions, vlogs Ik animations take a while - Maybe start moving overseas and pursue an animation career over there - Find a community of trusted people and maybe start your own studio from the ground up. Whatever it is that you want to do, make sure it is something you like to do and BE PATIENT with yourself. All the best!
Yeah I'll definitely take heed to these suggestions. - Reaction videos are definitely solid, I'll try and make mine stand out from the others I've seen. I don't know how but we'll figure it out! - Working overseas is definitely an option but I'll try to keep looking within the US for now. - Starting a studio sounds super dope honestly but a little daunting to me not gonna lie, haha!! But thank you so much, I wish all the best for you as well.
I see why the algorithm brought you to my video 😂 I gave myself the summer off after my degree and had a bit of a lazy stage too (I did say I'd give myself the rest of 2024 off to grieve though so it was kinda planned). You seem very self aware and tuned in to what's going on in your industry. You might find animation becomes more fun if you make it your career and if you're posting it on TH-cam then it can still bring in some income even if it's not the main component. If you're thinking of going into video editing you could also offer freelance services to other TH-camrs (not sure how big Ali Abdaal is over there but this is something he suggests a lot and has tips on it) alongside your current job until you find something else. Pretty much all the skills you've developed while building your channel will be transferrable! The lion and gazelle thing really hit home for me. I think part of the reason I got to the place I'm in is because there was no lion to make me run. I hope you find a job and get to a place where you're thriving! I believe in you!
