- Self-Realization Fellowship monk Brother Satyananda shares wisdom from Paramahansa Yogananda on how to find lasting happiness and peace in this ever-changing world.
Brother Satyananda explains that we can ask ourselves: “What are my values? What is my treasure? What do I hold dear?” And then we can apply practical ideas such as what Paramahansaji meant by “plain living and high thinking,” to live more simply so that we may enjoy the little pleasures of life.
This talk was recorded at the SRF Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades, California on July 3, 2022.

When Elvis Presley was living in L.A. and making movies in the 60's, he would come to the gardens at Lake Shrine to walk around and relax. Nobody would bother him, ask for photos or autographs. People respected his privacy. As a result of this story it brought Lake Shrine to my attention and I wish to visit soon so I may experience this beautiful place. Thank you for this lecture. Thank you for this wonderful service. I used to live in San Diego and spent many happy hours in the Meditation garden at the SRF temple in Encinitas right on the ocean. I have never felt such peace as I did when I was living in Encinitas and practicing yoga with a devotee of Yogananda. God bless you ❤
Aaah Contentment... I am sighing relief with your definition of this quality, dear Brother. Thank you for sharing very practical tips for finding that inner "safety from the chaos and impositions" from the outer world. Recalling Guruji's words, "Fiercely protect your peace." I have been finding this increasingly necessary, so this talk was perfect timing and comforting to me.

I am so Happy listening always to SRF talked but This One was very Special to me I moved Not a Long Time ago to a smaller place and let go beside what was not serving me anymore
among least 200 books which I donated to a public College and it took this Special Talk Today to find out WHY❤ I retired at age 83 and even if I loved helping Others
Now I am taking Time to listen and be at Peace feeling Love and Joy in a more in Finding GOD
