    Premier 1 has netted fences and chargers strong enough to run them. You can buy the fence by species lol.
    We mostly just use 2 wires and a a few solar chargers. Works for our horses, pigs, goats, and keeps our livestock guardian dogs in and the wild pigs, neighbors cows, stray dogs, and coyotes out. We have some seriously thick hot wire around the property perimeter (came with the property) that has wiring run underground and goes to our tackroom where the electrical box is. Has a seperate switch for it. We dont have it reconnected back up to a electic charger because we haven't really needed it. The animals seem to respect our solar chargers and we get lots of storms that knock out power and the solar will still be working.

    Poor practice in how you ran your ground. If the first clamp fails you lose both grounds. Better to run a single wire so if one fails it doesn't affect the other ground.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Explain that as two wires are clamped into a single connection??? It's not the first ground failing, it's the connection of the two by clamp and highly unlikely. A simple twist of the two wires together improves this.

  • @Sylvan_dB
    @Sylvan_dB 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have only used separate lines. Best is if you can hang old license plates tin can lids, etc. on the wire every so often. If you are fencing in animals, and need to train a new batch to the fence, spread a teaspoon of peanut button on those ornaments (turn off the fence charger first, and don't forget to turn it back on after).
    The dangling objects attract attention, helping them see the fence. Sometimes that is enough to stimulate their curiosity. If not, the smell of peanut butter usually gets them to sniff and lick at the license plate. That teaches them not to mess with the fence.
    In addition, a license plate or two on a length of fence acting as a gate across the road is helpful to prevent folks driving tractors, motorcycles, atvs, etc. thru the fence.

    Great video, just one suggestion. I know this is temporary fence so it’s not as critical, but it’s best practice to use galvanized ground rods since most electric fence wire is galvanized. Using two dissimilar metals will cause galvanic corrosion and ultimately lead to loss of connection or very poor connection at the ground. Just for future reference.

      Dogs learn fast, at least if the dog is smarter than your average rock. Mine got bit on the nose by the fence one time. A loud yelp, and now she won't get closer than about 3 feet to it. This is one of the reasons fences are pulsed and not energized continuously. The other has to do with how the charger electronics boost the voltage (takes time to charge the capacitor, then when it reaches a certain point it discharges into the fence).
