Thank you, Onyeka, for this clip. All you said really, really aligns with my goals. And I can't wait for more from you. Thank you so much, and I can't wait to get to know you more😊
This is encouraging. Thank you. Just hit my 3rd floor and with no job and broke, and currently earning only 15k per month scares me but this year we are going all the way out. This is my year 🎉
If possible, acquire some tech skills. If you don't have a laptop, you can start dropshipping something just to increase your income. All the best dear.
I don't know your full situation, but, think of what little you're able to set aside monthly. It doesn't have to be a lot, but it has to be something you can prioritize consistently and then set aside that in a high yield savings account for a start.
Depends on your personal and professional goals. But a good place to start is to learn adjacent skills that amplify your work, e.g. project management, communication, leadership, data analysis, etc. You can watch this video for more information and how to do this for a tiny cost th-cam.com/video/DA69uvi__ak/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PY_jyl4Gp2w5dm1M
Nice video. I just find it disturbing that after 10 years your total investment portfolio is around 10million. The average cost of a 3 bedroom apartment in lagos is 2.5 million. How does someone really retire comfortably 😨
10yrs of earning less than 100k in 6 years and you think a portfolio of more than 10million is disturbing? I'm unsure what it is you're looking for at this rate. 1. You don't have to retire in Lagos. 2. There are 3 bed apartments that cost less than 1m in Lagos if you stop looking for high brow areas. 3. I'm 34 with another 30 years of investing ahead of me. This portfolio will more than quadruple itself within that time with Compound growth, and add the fact that I will continue investing for the next 3 decades. I believe my retirement is sufficiently covered. P.S. the value of your output is dependent on the amount of your input + the length of time you give it to grow.
Onyeka considering the high inflation rate on naira investments, is mutual funds still a wise investment now or is ETFs a better option? What do you think
I think they serve different purposes and have different risk exposures. And a balanced portfolio should probably have both. You can have dollar based mutual funds, so it doesn't have to be naira. ETFs are also good way to invest in the stock market and hedge against inflation.
Hi @@onyekaokonkwo TH-cam just suggested your video. Do you mind doing a video with respect to how your qualification was valuable to your move. Thanks
If you watched the entire video, this wouldn't be a question you're asking. Because within the first few minutes I made it clear. And then at the end I touched on what my current goals are.
I will like to know when you start earning ₦500k per month which will help put some perspective on how you can achieve that much within that timeframe.
I don't think the amount earning increase made a significant impact. But I earned 500k around late 2021 and left the company in early 2023. Most of my investing growth and compounding started between 100k and 200k salary instead.
Another masterpiece @onyekaokonkwo. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It is interesting to know what's possible with consistency, persistence and some financial commitment, however little. I will be using the knowledge from this video practically. Cheers 🥂

Was your Chartered Accountant qualification useful when you moved to UK?
I used it to move to the UK.
