Most people place in gold/plat and tend to stick around there because they never put in the effort to learn more and or tilt out of their minds. Bronzes are usually people who have terrible internet/pc , don't take the game seriously at all (the classic checking snapchat mid game), it's their first fps ever (often means they don't know how or why to set their sense and they play on really low or really high sens), or they are genuinely just terrible at video games/fps games (this one and internet/pc are probably the biggest ones) Most people have played an fps before, they have fine internet and pc, they don't check snapchat mid game, they have played an fps before, and most people are, well, average at video games, not terrible at them. Being silver or below generally means you have an outstanding failure in gameplay somewhere. Gold and above is generally where you can see people have everything set up correctly and can generally hit a still target cause their sens is sane.
People do not understand that at low levels knowlege can be overpowering as mechanic skills, because people at low level lack both of them. If I were to pick another shooter, the eye to hand to mous connection is there, same with wasd mobility. My main problem would be not knowing what the hell does anything do. This person had the opposite problem: They know exactly what a DVa bomb is because they have see Flats talk about The Pact often and they have ingrained in their brain "Do not die to the DVa bomb". You make a good point about mechanics and skill transferring from other games. I played Siege back in early 2017 and was usually high gold or low plat and was always great at cod games and my first season of overwatch I ended in Diamond
Man this makes me wish I still had the vod of my first overwatch game. I was just a little zenyatta holding the payload on Havana at the very start for like a whole minute mostly on my own. The rest of my team died and I got tranq and used it to hold the cart longer. I know I have no proof and I’m tooting my own horn about a lobby of people (including me) lacking teamwork, coms, and aim. Nonetheless, sometimes peoples first games are a sight to behold, this rein is possibly the best example of that, even with the loss
In my first game I played as Solider 76 because I just came from the tutorial. I had no flipping idea what any of other heros were or did, no map knowledge, no game sense of any kind, my aim is garbage now so I assume that it was stinking hot garbage back then; but I just kinda fired in the enemy's general direction, and they just kinda kept dying without resistance. I got some ridiculous kill streak, like 14?? and because I switched to maining support shortly after there's a non-zero chance that's my best kill streak lol.
He was doing absolutely fine, the main difference between he's Rain and the opponent's Rain was that the enemy Rain been under consistent healing, even when he "fucked up with charging out" an extra 100hp could save him and a littlebit of supporting from his team, almost all the enemy was outside so his team could support him easily with counter fire and heal, well this way this charge would be a platina play to just literally kick out the whole pushing enemy team with their poor transcendence from the sight area, almost back in the lobby... His team would need to support him more and they would win, because even in his first play this guy was kicking ass ngl, I totally respect him. I guess he borned into a gaming chair
TF2 helped me a lot with game knowledge in OW. First season I ever ranked in was Plat and got to diamond a few seasons later after some coaching. You can just pick up the game and still know the basics of a team based MOBA

Seemed like he didn’t realize that his shield doesn’t block melee. Like Flats says, if he only would have been swinging he could have gotten so many kills.
For someone who just started playing ow early this year and mainly play rein, this kinda brings back so much memories. So relatable hahaha. The one thing i had to really drill to my head to remember doing was after shatter, fire strike first then either swing or pin, and not shatter, pin n then swing n fire strike.

flats is talking so much realtalk with the watching instead of playing - before i started ow i literally knew every hero-abilities and maps (healthpack places and stuff) just bc i watched ow way earlier than playing myself! ^^
Him learning to counter charge the rein is probably from the MOBA games he has played where he learns to punish the opponents bad plays. Like League of legends kinda cool

he was so intimidating with his janky movements and ballsy frontal solo hold that they didn't even want to push thru the choke
You make a good point about mechanics and skill transferring from other games. I played Siege back in early 2017 and was usually high gold or low plat and was always great at cod games and my first season of overwatch I ended in Diamond
no lie, any other map this guy would've DOMINATED
Man this makes me wish I still had the vod of my first overwatch game. I was just a little zenyatta holding the payload on Havana at the very start for like a whole minute mostly on my own. The rest of my team died and I got tranq and used it to hold the cart longer. I know I have no proof and I’m tooting my own horn about a lobby of people (including me) lacking teamwork, coms, and aim. Nonetheless, sometimes peoples first games are a sight to behold, this rein is possibly the best example of that, even with the loss
In my first hanzo game I got 5 man dragonstrike: I aimed in wall and I was like "OMG noooo! RIP my ulti!!!", and then I saw 5 kills XD
@@1ogic948 14 isn’t that high, like not even as a roast but I wouldn’t doubt that you at least have the undying achievement without realising
@@jaismith1760 I'd have to check, I'm kinda trash, but it was still weird for me lol.
This man's cracked, he might get atleast diamond for his first rank
He’s lucky if he gets gold
@@pedrousribas4333 nah he’ll get past gold
If he was coached by Flats he would definitely hit diamond if you ask me, but otherwise he will land in high gold / low plat I think
Lowkey watching flats and emong reminds me of being 12 and watching Mark Bob and Wayne videos.
TF2 helped me a lot with game knowledge in OW.
First season I ever ranked in was Plat and got to diamond a few seasons later after some coaching.
You can just pick up the game and still know the basics of a team based MOBA
Dude I feel for this guy, I started back in December and my first game was also on Reinhardt
I love that someone in chat said that’s golden referring to reinhardhts hammer meanwhile me know the skin the person is using is paragon which you get for free from one of overwatch editions which makes the hammer look like that
I love seeing flats being so positive and supporting
6:54 Real talk flats when i first started playing overwatch i barely played and just watched youtube/twitch vids of high rank. helps a ton having background in shooter games but knowledge is power
You should definitely check where he’s at after placements. Guy’s goin places
I wonder where he is today....
Lol my first ever game I was playing Dva and it was on temple on attack and I was trying to snipe the enemies with her primary 😭
This is awesome bc im a big fan of you flats i love watching you play my favorite character im getting overwatch in ten days id love to send you the video
He does watch. He baited out the charge twice and HE BAITED OUT THE SHATTER on his FIRST MATCH.
this dudes absolutely crazy for it being his first game. played with my friend for his first ow game and it was just him feeding simulator he got his first kill after like 2 hours of us playing HAHAHA
Love this guy, he really has potential ive watched this like 3 times
I’m so excited I absolutely love this series and can’t wait to watch “rate my rein” omg yayyyyshsggs
True at 7:07 I learned Ana by watching ml7 before playing it.
flats is talking so much realtalk with the watching instead of playing - before i started ow i literally knew every hero-abilities and maps (healthpack places and stuff) just bc i watched ow way earlier than playing myself! ^^
Him learning to counter charge the rein is probably from the MOBA games he has played where he learns to punish the opponents bad plays. Like League of legends
kinda cool
Poor guy, he was following his teammates in the beginning, he was just following Pharah but she jetblasted off so he fell xD this was hilarious
I just wanna say that this person did PHENOMENAL
i learned to play mercy really well by watching Niandra, so very true "learn more by watching than playing"
2:25 The Flats laugh we all know and love lol!
Had to pause the video to say this but honestly YES flats I waited for 2 years when overwatch came out and I watched you and a bunch of other videos on overwatch daily and when I actually started playing I was a good ass rein from the start everybody was like how?
So when flats goes "JAYZUS" what actually was that lmao
"That's my secret, Captain. I always play like it's my first game." lol
when i first started ow in 2017 I didn’t have any experience in shooter or even multiplayer (i just started playing video games) but before i started i watched ssniperwolf and spirits reaper gameplay alot and this help me so much that i got my reaper into high gold at lvl 25
You're great to watch for Rein tips :D You're the reason I can even play that character lmao
