I just realized (while watching episode 6) that none of the returning cast members that are under the curse were really under the first one from season 1.
Keep in mind as the Dragon once said it's only called the land without magic because they see it like that but that doesn't mean it ain't there also gothel brought alot of magic back specifically to the city itself together with her coven
