Lol “ technique gathering” the bane of most martial artists. Well done gentlemen, thank you.

What I discovered is that all martial arts have common ground. What separates us is ego, politics and tradition. We are all connected in some form.

I agree with the statement of the similarities being more significant than the differences and also would like to extend this line of thought and its application to spirituality or relogion....

This movement pattern also works to close a microwave door! Solo-drill one rep hubad at every breakfast time!

I’m going to add one more style that has a similar form; Baja Chuan. It’s an early maneuver in the forms: Da Baji, San Shr Ar, and Baji Piquan Lienma (sorry if my translations are off). Thank you for all of the great content.

oh yeah, baji does a lot of this, I should know, though in fairness a lot of Chinese martial arts do too, as does silat and Apache knife fighting for that matter.

One of the better explanations of hubad Lubad. It does become "partty-cake" for beginner. To see it starting to get off centerline and work. To see it as variant in Muay Thai, is cool. Most people wouldn't see it. Most people again see it as "patty-cake". Once though, muscle memory works into the beginner, you start to take it off centerline. Good explanations

Ah. The “Pilipino Patty Cake.” lol. Another awesome video from everyone. 😊🤙🏽. Hubad. Echekete (Parry & Check or Parry & Salute). Gunting. High line, mid line, low line. Moving to the outside line. Or using it to get to the inside line. It’s such a flexible tactic that so many cultures have something similar. After all, there’s only so many ways the human body can move. 😊

Excellent video. I really enjoyed seeing this move in other arts besides FMA.

Krav maga has a similar technique/ drill they call it "360 defence".

I have trained variations of this both in Kung Fu and Arnis. While it is a great drill for dexterity of movement I have found that there is little likelihood of these working against even medium resistance , non compliance. By the way it works better from a right foot leading stance.

Parrying is valid at the highest levels of hand to hand and weapons. The FMA version has more telegraph for instruction purposes and flow drill for mechanics, but it is the same technique and can be done in one move like how the muay thai instructor shows it.
Timing is everything and there are ways to help get that timing more in your favor:
      1) Attack first with the intention to follow up or to counter-attack a counter-attack.
      2) Emphasis on foot position and upper body position prior to minimize some attacks and draw certain attacks/defenses after feinting/probing/attacking.
      3) Learning to attack in away that is committed enough, where you have just enough left over for follow up/defense.
      4) Back up plans for a bad parry attempt/draw.
