Omg I just received my rage swimmer electric shad 3.75 n strike king belly blade yesterday n went out on slammed bout 20 bass including my PB this year 25inch 8lbs. Bass w this set up Thanku again Andrew Upshaw 4sharing your great tips!!!
@@AndrewUpshawFishing yes I've been watching just about all your vids n gaining so much from them... I'm definitely a true fan...fishing is a big thing that has become my therapy as a combat veteran n I pass on what I learn 2other soldiers n veterans whenever we come 2gather 2fish. Our local chapter is called Heroes on the Water out of Fort Hood, Tx.....thx 4responding 2the messages means alot....
Caught me snoozing. I'm not sure how I wasn't subscribed already. But I am now, with notifications on too. Keep up the awesome content here on TH-cam Andrew! I agree that 3.25" swimmer is such a great size. I now use it most places I would a 2.75" and a 3.75" for finesse swimbaiting.
I am in my second year of learning to bass fish. I have a boat full of small swim bait. I never through them. But I will try again because of how convincing this video is.
@@AndrewUpshawFishing I can imagine 😁, I was stand beside Travis Manson close to where you were and wanted to talk to you so bad but I could tell you were enjoying seeing your family, like you hadnt in a while, turns out i was right and since you were off to the side sitting on the guardrail I didnt wanna bother you and Val had been sick if I'm not mistaken. When I seen Bill Taylor come over and talk to ya and walk off i pretty much knew you had it and was gonna be one of the last on stage so I can imagine your nerves were on edge and weights were on your mind at that point anyway. It was a sweet day and I was pulling for you and a few other so I was glad to see you take home the win!
I have a rod dedicated to just that bell blade and swim bait. It's a banger year round. The wait transfer verses a standard underspin gives it the more natural appearance, which in my opinion is what makes it so good.
Could u do a video on how to set up your rod for light swim baits and 1 and 1.5 cranks ...I BLOW UP my reals with light tackle and have to use spinning reels to throw light stuff..a how to would be great..I mean in depth there a bunch of YEAH MEDIUM LIGHT WITH BLA BLA BLA and I cant get em to work
I caught my PB there this year and I know the lake record is 10lbs. There have been several 9lbs pulled out of there. Really have enjoyed the videos. Its nice to see Oklahoma waters get some love.
Thanks 4this great advice. I get so frustrated bcuz I haven't got a bite yet...our weather n Tx is rain n cold that has caused our water 2b muddy. I will b trying this if we can find this. Fort hood doesn't have alot of options...
Love the videos Andrew. Keep them coming! Can’t tell you how many bass in crappy I have caught on a small swim bait like 2.8 or 3.3. They have caught fish with nothing else does for sure. And I love the ghost color of the rage swimmer as well.. God bless!
Great vid Andrew ! Here in N Illinois our power plant lakes are closed and we’re a ways from fish spawning the ones we can fish anyway. We just need some days that are warmer than in the 40s ! What length and action Lews rod do you use Andrew ?
Gteat video Andrew. Maybe i missed it, but you said u fish it on a finesse jig rod. I dont think, but maybe u did, specify on the rod the length and action you use on that finesse jig rod. I was trying to compare the rod to what i have to see if any of my rods would work. Would a 7ft medium, fast action spinning rod work? Or a jerkbait rod by Megabass its a casting rod 6'11" medium, fast action or a 7'2" medium heavy, fast action casting rod? Thx buddy for your vodeos. I enjoy them.
The Finesse Jig Rod I use is a 7’2” MH. It’s basically a worm rod. The two rods you mentioned might be a little too light for this rig. Might just throw a worm rod, 7-7’3 MH. That should work for you.
Of course I do, but I don’t fish them on this technique ever. You need one that longer than one fish on a weighted hook. I personally haven’t seen any difference in bites either.
Andrew Upshaw Fishing I agree. I fish both and seem to like the durability of the rage swimmer better. I’m missing a finger from a saw injury and the keitechs are too slippery for me to rig sometimes
1 of my "go to" favorite bait on my home lake... i have whooped my buddies uo and down the lake out fishing them off the back of their boats by fushn the Rage swimmer!!!
Some great insight....thanks for taking the time to share...adding some of these techniques to my arsenal.
Heck yea buddy!

I hope it works for you!
Great tips Andrew! Can't wait to try that 3.25 swim bait 👍👊
Hope it works for you!

I’m having good luck with this. Under spin included.
Awesome!

Nice job Andrew, like my flashy swimmer this time of year on Cumberland! I'd love to own that winning Cumberland rod 😁. Stay awesome my friend.
That rod is pretty special!:)

Thanks A!
Well...thanks for giving away my secret Andrew! You are correct Sir, these little swimbaits will smash em. 🎣
Sorry man! And yes, they are awesome!
Dripping springs has become my favorite lake to fish. Seems to be a hidden gem of a lake.
I’ve only been there once; but can’t wait to go back.

That ghost color is hard to beat. Used to be my favorite, but got passed by Electric Shad.
Great video, thank you for sharing this tip, heading to lake Sinclair to try it now
Good luck Dave!
Great video. I hear you refer to that hook as "the smaller size". Ia that a 3/0? That's the smallest I see on TW right now.
IS that....
Yes, the 3/0. It looks tiny in hand but fits the 3.25 perfectly.
@@AndrewUpshawFishing Thanks!
Good video!! Started using swimbaits a lot more this year. I like the skinny dippers also,, bio-spawn makes some good ones too.
Swimbaits, regardless of size, are big fish magnets!
Whats the min size line that you would on that setup? I do a lot of 8 to 10 lb line? I thought the smaller the bait the smaller the line needed to be?
You can throw up to 17lb, but 15lb is where I stay personally.

Not gonna lie, that sounds awful! Hope y’all get some warm days soon!
I like how you think
Great minds think alike! 👍

@@AndrewUpshawFishing Thx, i have that Shimano Zodias 7-2 MH ill use then, with that new Lews Custom Speed spool reel u recommend ;)
Great video brother! Thanks for sharing. I hear A-rig in the trees catches em. Lol sorry I had to. Look forward to the next one! Nice end screens 👍
everything was clear exept hook maker
Awesome Video Andrew!! Would you throw this bait between shallow cypress trees and skip it under docks?
Absolutely! One of my favorite two places to throw one.
Andrew Upshaw Fishing Thanks for the feedback!! I really appreciate
Dam gave away my juice! Lol
Always! Lol
@@AndrewUpshawFishing all good bro! You have great content! Do what you do. You ever used a megabass vatalion?
Thanks Andrew. Is that Dripping Springs?
Sure is. Fun lake for sure.
Simple tactics, what color swim bait will imatate a carp?
Ayu is a great color option for carp!
Would this work on Cherokee since we have no grass?
Absolutely!
Can’t tell me u don’t have a few packs of keitechs in the boat 😂
