People that don't listen to black metal regularly don't get it. This isn't other musical styles, its not simply a costume you take on and off (ironically),its a part of who you are to the core of your being. Their is not one black metal fanatic that does not wholeheartedly agree, the rest are simply people who enjoy a band here and there and like what they like, but they aren't black metal maniacs like the rest of us!
Your totally correct bro. Before I got into black metal I was into different bands from different rock metal genres that each had different dynamics. But with black metal Im into the whole genre. Just the essence of it is visceral. I even dig the satanism, melancholy, misanthropic aspects. It just totally resonates with my soul. I see it as spiritual music. It is my sobriety music. I actually discovered it when I got clean and in some way it keeps me clean
Black metal takes me to almost have out of body experiences in a sense. It gives me something that I never new I needed. It is medicine. There is really no one to talk to that understands it except us black metal heads. It is the most unique and different metal in my opinion
What's great about the way this album starts is if the listener is unsure of what awaits them he makes it pretty clear. I'm gonna buy the record for the magic of that intro alone.
I'll bet Hanoi Rocks never knew they were opening the doors of music in Finland to this beautiful monstrosity. Oh, it would be exceptional to hear a Finnish black metal band cover Hanoi Rocks! Tooting bec Wreck, or Two steps from the move...

Ok, it's a good album. it's well produced and 100% solid. One thing though, it's way too generic, from the overused stereotypical band name, to the album cover and the overall riffs. i like it though, don't get me wrong, but it's not someting you remember after listening to it.

this is one of the most entertaining things i've listened to in the last year. it's a whirlwind tour of different finnish black metal styles ranging from the melancholic to the pagan to the satanic, with a smattering of influence from elsewhere in the north ("kärsimysten airut" sounds like some of the better swedish depressive-suicidal black metal). top recommend.
It seems appropriate to be listening to this in the dead of night. It reminds of Angantyr's last album, which was really good. I have a feeling this and the Skratte album will be in a few year end lists
