    The reason the teachings of Buddha were wiped out from India : ISLAMIC TERROR. In the 10th and 11th century Mahmud Ghazni, Muhammad Ghori and Bakhtiyar Khilji destroyed viharas, massacared monks and wiped out nalanda, taxila and udantpuri . The survivors mostly fled to Tibet. Only in 1800s did Buddhism make a comeback to India. That said I'm happy to see Buddhism and Hinduism coming to an alliance it is not only good for India but also good for humanity. Excellent work Sir Rajiv. Respect

      Electrohin No you talk as if Hinduism and Buddhism are separate. This is what brain washing and zero understanding does. Buddhism is a branch of Sanatana Dharma based on Vedic philosophical knowledge. Several kinds of philosophies like this put together is called Hinduism. Also, NO, Hindus didn’t kick the Buddhists out and attack them like Islamic or Christiania attacks. In olden and ancient India, there were only Gurus of philosophy. They would have philosophical arguments in a civilized manner and the one who looses will accept his defeat and take up the winners philosophy along with his students and followers. A best example would be Mandana Misra and Adi Sankaracharya. Although, Buddhism is considered a logical development of ancient Sanatana Dharma, it’s still too early to be applied. The rest of the world, thanks of Abhrahamic cults is still barbaric which attacks and destroys other civilizations. A highly enlightened mind still cannot survive barbaric attacks. That’s when Dharma needs to be protected again. That formed the revival of today’s traditional Hinduism and people took up their Karma again to pretext themselves. Look at Tibet, they were once the most fierce warriors the world knew. Now that they are all extreme Buddhists and too enlightened to be stuck in pathetic human quarrels, they can’t protect themselves. Not even from the commie Chinese who invaded them. If you are a seeker willing to learn truth, I’ll respond to your queries. If u r just another brain washed Abrahamic, Leave me alone and spread your shit else where.

    Hopefully this video entices the minds of young budding architects who want to revive our traditional architecture in modern form. In the US, I see most buildings built on the lines of the Greek Parthanon and Roman Pantheon . Like the US supreme court, Capitol hill, etc. Why can't we make public building on the lines of Temples , Stupas in terms of aesthetics but modern in structural construction materials. I hate Indian architects like Hafeez Contractor blindly copying Greek architecture and calling it classical.

    Great Presentation.
    Nice of both of you talking of blind, mindless consumerism.
    It’s time all Bharatwasis stop blindly aping the West.
    We gleefully embraced bottled water, plastics, Coke and Pepsi in the late ‘80s and the destructive impact is very visible 40 years later I.e now - dried up rivers, ugly plastics waste which we struggle to dispose and deadly life style deceases caused by guzzling toilet cleaners - Coke and Pesticides - Pepsi without even questioning its ingredients.

I have watched the other presentation of Sri V Bhanshali by Sri RMji. That was also an excellent presentation of an most successful chartered accountant turning himself to spirituality of highest order. As explained by you it is an marvellous architectural temple of spiritual greatest master BHUDDHA 's liking dedicated to humanity. Without much marketing tourists and real spiritual seeking people will flock. I am sure to make it in my next visit Mumbai. Excellent presentation GOD BLESS YOU BOTH in more such ventures.

    Beautiful place and riveting video. Will definitely plan to visit there soon.
    My recent visit to North East India helped me revisit and connect with some of our earliest Buddhist traditions. I also visited Zong Dog Palri Fo Brang Monastery located on top of Durpin Hill in Kalimpong (W.B.). It was a sight to see 108 volumes of sacred Kunguyar, a Tibetan religions scripture, which was carried there by Dalai Lama during his exile. These volumes were locked inside traditional book shelves. I am hopeful some of the monks or other knowledgeable historians can open up such hidden treasures for wider dissemination to general public. - Mukul Mohan Mittal

    Vipassana means...true reality....or looking the way it actually is rather than living in make believe world.
    The way I see it is.... peace, compassion,
    nonviolace..... and all those nice words......we Hindus swear by.....and look at the results we have to show for last 1000/2000 years. since other more aggressive Abrahamic regions have
    taken over....high time to learn the vipassana.

    As much as I love this episode, I am a bit disappointed that a concept of such novelty of a hollow stone dome for housing 10000 meditators had to take the design of Shwegadon Pagoda. What they could have done was to revive the Indian Buddhist architecture with modern elements and taken some elements of Shwedagon to give some tribute rather than taking the iconic structure of Swedagon.

    • @rush-me

      The architecture unknowingly hints that "The Buddha", "Gautam Buddha", "Buddhism" is far from and not connected to Sanatan Dharma and India.

    25:38 study of that which is manifested is Science. Study of that which manifests is Yoga/Adhyatmavidya. Now the thing is that Science can never touch Adhyatmavidya bcz it's an Higher state. They can only study those things which gets manifested in our physical body(including brain). When you are in a Rishi state that state also gets manifested in physical body. Like Science is used to create technology. Adhyatmavidya is also used to create technology. Vipassana is one such example. Now im not against technology which is created by science bcz it buys time which i can use for my Vipassana. But the science should stop looking in the business of creating happiness. They can create addictive experiences which is not happiness.

    My comments and suggestions are regarding the video and the cameras.
    I think you are using three cameras. One is focused on Rajiv Malhotra, second is focused on Vallabh Bhanshali and third is covering both. When the camera is focused on Rajiv Malhotra, hand gestures can be seen along with the face. Whereas the camera focussing on Vallabh Bhanshali, hand gestures are cut out, only the face is seen.
    Camera focusing is not in sync with what/when the speakers are speaking/discussing. Cameras suddenly zoom in and zoom out from one speaker to the other. This sudden camera movement is creating a disturbance in the eyes while watching.
    I have been observing this trend when there are two speakers. I kindly request Rajiv Malhotra or Infinity Foundation team to make necessary changes and improvements while shooting the video and during post-production. Thank you.

      Thx. You are right. We are having great difficulty getting good video folks in India. Tried 5 different teams each costing a huge professional rate, but none reliable. Good ones work in studios like movies or tv. Regular ones are used to doing marriages and parties where requirements are for mere montage. We have had fights with them. Given written instructions. Had litigation with one of them. Formal contracts. Nothing has worked. We have full time paid video professionals based in Chennai and Meghalya. The problem is: It is a culture of jugada. A major source of my aggravation of doing work in India. In my latest India trip we flew our video head from Meghalya and video team from Bangalore to places like delhi, etc, just because we have tried and rejected all the local video teams we can find. Lots of drama behind the scenes, unprofesionalism galore. Disgusting work ethic. But what you say is valid. The buck stops here with me. I keep trying my best. By the way, we pay them handsomely. In many professions, Indian workers are incompetent spoiled brats. Super emotional if you criticize them. "Feel good" addiction.

      Deepa Singhal , Vipassana meditation means observing the reality as it is, what we do in that is, we observe the sensation on the body from top part of head to feet and vice versa. more you practice this more sensation you feel then a reality will appear that all this sensation is anitya or temporary, if you practice more then slowly slowy reality within your body will starts to appear.

      Arya S
      Sri Adi Shankaracharya debated not only with Buddhists but even with different Aastic(Hindu) schools of thought with the only aim to revive the true rationalistic, Spiritual and cultural glory Sanatana Dharma. Not to push them away...but to accept the core faulty theory of Buddhism( not every part of it). He accepted many theories of Buddhism but refuted the core part. There is nothing wrong in glorifying Buddhism, as it is a Dharmic culture which came as an offshoot of Sanatana Dharma.

    Sorry, as impressive as the structure looks, I feel these people should have used stronger architectural influences from India. Burmese architecture has Indian influences, but there are Chinese influences as well, and this structure doesn't blend as well with India. You didn't need to copy something like this, you could have designed a better structure with appropriate Indian influences. This just looks like a Southeast-Asian foreign structure in India. Shame on this lack of originality, authenticity, and creativity.

    • @deepasinghal4729
      @deepasinghal4729 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      A Bcde - It is Burmese architecture as the founder SN Goenka was born in Burma, learnt meditation there from Sayagyi U Ba Khin and then came to India and spread it everywhere by setting up meditation centers in the way he knew i.e. Burmese influenced.

    • @drugsmusic1238
      @drugsmusic1238 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Deepa Singhal , I agree its a burmese architecture but don't you u think all these vipassana centers are places to brain wash people in the name of meditation, where 10 days you have to sit and every day 1 hour the lectures of Goenka is shown, which talks abusred about Hinduism. Vipassana is Bhartiya, because it came from Vedic rishi, but in Goenka's lectures he talks again and again that it was revived by Sidhart Gautam. which I don't think is true, Sidhart Gautam met various gurus before attaining enlightenment.
