We (unwillingly) live with vivid images of death constantly on our minds, 80% inflicting it and 20% falling to it. So for someone to gaze at us in a threatening manner, our brains flip and automatically assume that they too live with those ideations and they want to inflict them on us. Which immediately causes a violent visceral reaction and you just want to remove them from this planet.
I know it sounds odd saying this about a Sean Strickland fight, but that was one of the most inspirational performances in recent memory. For him to take on a killer like Imavov on short notice, in a weight class he's never fought in before, coming off of two losses, and to win convincingly is very impressive.
