I bought peat moss today, compressed bales of 107 liters or 3 cubic feet, regular price was 13.99 cdn but at the cashier that person saw all four bales were damaged and messy. She told the manager who was near by and the price was reduced to 6.99$ each ( 56.01 krona) Woo Hoo!
Hey Sam, I found some dead spots or dry spots on my lawn, and decided to poke around found big rocks, another spot tree roots and clay. Have you looked under the ground in those spots?
Hey Sonny, I actually find loads of rocks under the lawn, usually dead spots have been just that, but this time I couldn't find any at all, but I have been finding grubs here and there, even laying on top of the lawn, so I am assuming I have a bigger grub problem than I thought, so just another thing to take care of come spring :) But good tip though, usually I think it is rocks and roots or just too little good soil which is the issue. Hope you had an awesome Christmas mate.
Hey Amit, I heard that and in theory that is true, but I have tried dormant seeding over winter just to see if it works, I usually get very very poor germination in the spring, so not sure, maybe we just have too much snow and ice, for too long for that to work, what do you think?
Hi Sam! Your lawn is sooo beautiful! I did a whole lawn overseeding 10 days ago after a very thorough scarification ecpecially on the weed areas and now it is starting to look green again, here in Greece the temperatures are between 12 and 25 Celsius, I hope it will be ok (fescue, rye and bluegrass mix). As for the grubs I have been told that you need to flood the area with water in the evening and they will come up on the surfus. Please make another video to show us the outcome. Many thanks.
Hey Lucy! Thank you so much. Sounds like you have been busy with the lawn, good work! I think your temps are well and good enough to seed any type of cool season grass at the moment so I wouldn't worry at all. Interesting, that was a new method, haven't heard of that one, If I find grubs again I will definitely try out both methods! Hope you won't mind me mentioning that the idea came from you 😊
Hey Christine, very good point, that might ver well be the case, hmmm almost want to dig the new areas out and check. Maybe I'll try one area 😁 thanks for the tip!
Good to see you back Sam, another informative video. Will def try the bucket germination to fill a couple of spots that are not taking well 👍👍
Hey Steve, thanks man, feels nice to be making videos again. It does work amazingly well, IF you keep better track of it than I did :)
Good tips, watching from Chicago. Nice yard!
Hey Craig, thanks a lot mate, say hello to the windy city from me 😁🤙🏼
Looking great Sam! 🔥
Hey Nate, thanks alot mate, appreciate it 🙏 🤙🏼

Sam, grass seed doesn’t die in winter. It stays dormant and germinates in spring. Btw, beautiful fall lawn.

@@SamsLawn The reason is seeds do germinate when there is brief warm spell coming out of winter and after that frost kills the baby seed plants.
Nice overview Sam! Crazy how much sooner your temps come down compared to where I live.
Hey Dino, thanks man, yeah it's almost time to go back into the freezer again for a couple of months, season is too short :)
@@SamsLawn Where do you live because I feel like our summers here in west central Texas are too long. Lol I love the winter.
@@1791Hernandez Our winters are too long, feels never ending, we should trade a few months :)
Or you move to Sweden and I move to Texas? :D
Fint!
I hope you do an update video in a few weeks to see if the full grass
Hey mate, for sure, i will try to show an updated in the future videos 😊🤙🏼

Of course I don't mind and I am looking forward to see
the outcome of the bare spots you overseeded.😎
It's possible that the grubs may have traveled deeper into the soil, now that it is getting colder.

it'd grubs
Yeah seems like it, I checked but maybe not deep enough, but sure looks like it
Please be seeded...!
haha thank you good sir :)
