The Lab LA is our weekly post-work unwind where we bring you the best American and international DJs live in the heart of Hollywood. This time we're bringing you a b2b set from two mega-stars in their own right, Laidback Luke and Gina Turner.
Anyone even remotely familiar with dance music has heard the name Laidback Luke. The Dutch DJ is an internationally renowned, chart-topping superstar with an enormous global fan base that he's built over his 20-year DJ career. Luke has hit all of the major festivals including EDC Vegas, Creamfields, Tomorrowland, and has a stacked list of releases, collaborations and remixes, as well as his own imprint Mixmash.
Gina Turner is woman of many trades. She's a wicked house and techno DJ, producer, radio host, yoga instructor, label boss and more. She has releases on major labels such as Defected and Ministry of Sound, as well as running her own Turn It Records imprint. Be on the lookout for her upcoming collaborative EP with Tony Quattro, and she'll be playing and doing some yoga at Splash House in Palm Springs next month.

I don't understand why people are hating so much,I didn't know a single song and I loved it! I've seen luke plenty of times but man Gina turner was awesome! Who cares if she danced and enjoyed spinning with her husband? I'd rather watch someone have a good time than sit there and press a bunch of buttons! I never ever comment on anything but this is just ridiculous! LBL & Gina were amazing....now only if I can find the tracklist from 1:00 and on!

That would be so dang boring if I saw a DJ just standing there pressing buttons and looking like they're bored lol.

Gina Turner It certainly shows more skill, thought and effort. I have to say though, I find scratch effects a bit naff... Especially in a tech house set of his level. Great energy throughout !
Walter White I wouldn't say more skill, its not hard to hit the button on the bottom right of the mixer and selected a phaser, echo or reverb etc. I personally prefer a simple set, letting the tracks play out, its all personally preference I guess. It was still a decent set!

J'adore Laidback Luke, mais amis DJ, Gina fait n'importe quoi??!!! Calages vers 8 min.. Trop d'effets, le "scratch back" que LL a rattrapé de justesse, commutations de basses tellement brutales et mal positionnées, calage aussi à 10 minutes pile, les deux kicks ne sont pas ensemble.. Wtf..

LAIDBACK LUKE and GINA TURNER work well together on the 4 turntables and mixer. It is good to see Laidback Luke using some scratching to mix. This needs to be done more by all dj's.

Wow my head hurt listening to this. I love tech house and LBL is one of my fav DJs but holy train wrecks. Check out chus and ceballos or Oscar L’s Lab sets for some fire tech house mixing.
I wrote off LBL a couple of years because, to be frank, he went EDM. This DJ set definitely has reignited that fire i had for him and it think its so cool that he's B2B with his wife. Very class set guys.
+renzoc he went edm in his productions. BUT as a dj, he plays want the crowd wants. techno/ tech house show it is.
