Well I do believe and giving credit where credit is due you can't find very many if any at all pop groups from the sixties and seventies still performing today. The Osmonds still performs and make albums or should I say CDs so that kind of tells you something right there. And people still buy their CDs their music and go on tours. I guess we know who's better. The Osmonds.
Wow, after all these years later I still can't believe this debate still continues the facts is this.....in the '70s The Jackson 5 and The Osmonds ran the Bubble Gum Charts. It's a fact and of course, people are going to take sides{whether it's due to regional taste,style or race,etc...."One Bad Apple" was originally written for The Jackson 5{But Motown boss Berry Gordy turned it down so as a result, it became The Osmond Brothers first hit}the Song "Ben" was written for Donny Osmond{But he was unable to record the song because he and his brothers were on tour So the song was given to Michael Jackson and it became a Huge Hit for Him. .Neither band blew the other "Out Of The Water".and at that time were The Most Successful Family acts in The United States:-)
The Osmonds performances are tight, whether it’s vocally or their choreography. Collectively the Osmonds vast rage of talents, for me, was what set them apart from the Jacksons. Personally, I’ve see both groups back in 70s and I loved both of their performances. Michael Jackson’s was my main focal point when watching the Jackson 5, he was the total package with a commanding presence ....that’s who you really focused on. With the Osmonds, I took it all in. There was so much talent on the stage collectively and individually...true entertainers!

the jacksons were not better vocally than the osmonds( dancers? ..yes lol), and the osmonds were not better vocally than the jacksons. they had two DIFFERENT STYLES AND GENRES, SO THERE IS NO COMPARISON BETWEEN THE TWO GROUPS. BOTH WERE TALENTED BEYOND THEIR YEARS POINT BLANK PERIOD
The jackson 5 were a helluva lot better musically and vocally. Sorry folks. The osmonds were just aping what was going on around them. They copied music from every genre, and didnt even do a soulful job of it. Watching them as kids is sad, cuz theyre like little robots. They didnt even get to be kids! How can you sing songs about love and life when you havent experienced either. They were mormon as well which didnt help either. The beatles grew more in five years than this family has in 50!
how could the Osmonds ape what was around them when they were one of the the first,if not the first, siblingband with so many siblings in it. People loved them for their music,different sets of music with the whole group,Donny,Marie,Donny and Marie,Jimmy!! And we loved them for their family,that they let us so deeply inside of their family-life,we felt like we knew them. The Jacksons father wanted the Jacksons do be like the Osmonds,they say so in one of the tv- documentarys. The Osmonds were something so different,smiling,talkative,goodlooking,and their mother and father who was always with them. They were so much more than just a popgroup.
