Awesome to see the combination of 3D and 2D being pushed that far! In a similar vein, I watched Arcane a week ago, and the way that 3D and 2D were combined there was absolutely breath-taking; inspirational animation by Studio Fortiche. My favourite weather condition is probably partly overcast, with clouds racing across the sky and the light shifting from sun to shadow. There is something so dynamic about constantly changing weather, and plus it doesn't get too hot.
Amazing. Thanks for sharing so much of your process and thinking. It is SO interesting to see how people work, and see how much you put into your amazing animation 😍
It's amazing how many softwares and plug-ins you can master! Most of my animation friends are either focusing only in designing, 2D or 3D. Never seen anyone who can combine all of these areas together, AND doing it sooooooo well!
As someone who wants to be a animator I really do feel anxious on taking on 3d animation with all of the works put into it, but at the same time I really get inspiration and tips from people like you who put effort and time into making amazing animations
YOU ARE GREAT! I actually jumped up when I saw that you have uploaded a new video! Your videos fill me with motivation, and skills too. I am, actually, trying to create an animated film, and sometimes I feel that I won't be able to do it . . . but then, your videos jump in, and I become positive, and try to give it my 100%. Thank you so much!
I always get an incredible, almost euforic feeling while watching your works. They are always so beautiful and charming that by just watching a single timelapse of your work process I can get inspired for a week ahead. I can't describe how inspiring and gorgeous your art is. It is absolutely uniquely glorious. Thank you for creating all of this and giving so much inspiration to all of us.
@@OlofStorm No, thank YOU!!! You are one of the most inspiring people I've ever seen on TH-cam and I'm really grateful to you for all what you're doing for us!!
Amazing job on this, love seeing it come together. Personally, foggy with light rain is my favorite. Second favorite, dark and windy with a storm on the horizon.
One thing. You could animate the grass blowing in the wind. But other than that ist an amazing shot! I love the creative process and the final animation is just awesome!
very smartly done! your videos fit so well with my split between being proficient in 3d and loving the character and 'auteur' feel 2d can give me. But then you seem quite a few years ahead of me in filmmaking experience, and so for me you are such a useful guide/pathfinder to have! Also useful having the MoCap suit limitations mentioned, very much a tool I've been looking into recently
I first saw your channel when you had below 100k I thought it's a hidden gem... And after seeing the progress after some time you are growing really fast 😆 I'm so happy that more people are finding this channel... keep it up baby
Very inspiring! Thank you for sharing your process in such a detailed manner. I enjoy most weather conditions, with the exception of stifling heat and humidity - although I do love the thunder storms that sometimes follow. Not that crazy about bland overcast days either (why do I live near Seattle?) but you work with what you get. No use complaining about weather! I am very intrigued to see the final animation one day.
Love your videos! Glad you’re back posting, have to say, your videos inspired me to get into 3D as a 2D animator and I’m discovering a whole world with infinite posibilites now. Thank you
I really love the cool, clear days in autumn and late spring. And I love the sun, I'm instantly in a brtter mood when the sun is shining :) Very cool shots, i am really impressed by the particle system clouds, they look super realistic but still fit the art style of the film
Thank you for this insightful clip. You have proven that truly there are no such things as mastering one set of skills is the best one can do... I love what you do. Do tell us when this movie comes out so we can go watch it. Keep up the great work
Beautiful! And very inspiring to see the workflow. I agree that the shot might need some additional foreground element on the left side. In the second part of the timelapse, when the branch on the right is not visible, camera pan starts to get less noticable and it seems to be more static than it actually is.
Yeah I think that will be a nice touch to add. Reinforce that its actually still moving :) Otherwise I complicated this shot for myself for no reason haha!
This is really great, Olof.... great job done here. :) I love your creative use of the particle systems with the cloud effects there. I love seeing 2d effects used in a 3d environment... you can get some really great effects with simple 2d animations, even in textures for something like water flowing or something as well. Looks like everything's going so well. I'm also making a personal 3d project, very different to yours, and that progress is going ok. Thanks again for making this video and awesome stuff. :)
Your work is amazing and inspirational. The idea of time-lapse is quite creative and I hope to implement it in my own little animated project that I plan to work on.
You did an amazing job here Olof! No wonder, this must have been quite the undertaking😯 I like the misty/fog conditions, nut the night scene adds some nice contrast too🤩
The way you used the particle system is inspiring! I always use c4d sky but I will have to give a try in composting in AE. I always struggle with fog and mist while yours felt very natural
Looking great so far, the only thing I would suggest would be animating the grass so as to see those specular highlights when fresh grass moves together, kinda like silk, even though you're not using a particle system in blender, subdividing your cubes that seem to contain your grass and just animating a simple displacement map would do the trick :)
Such a huge amount of work! Thank you for sharing and making such a useful and interesting tutorial! Well done! Please continue, it gives inspiration to do my own project, although I'm only at the storyboard stage for now, but the final is close))
When the motion capture is sped up, it looks like a funky dance. Awesome progress, btw.

i am always speech less with every video you put out
Sunny is always neat. But even though it is winter, I like going out in the early morning when it's really dark, as long as it isn't windy ofc.
This is just insane, very inspiring, great work!
I am agree
wow, this is absolutely incredible. as an animator and a climber this rules.
Usually I don't like 3d with 2d, but the way you integrate it here is amazing. Thanks for the informative content as always
Amazing. Thanks for sharing so much of your process and thinking. It is SO interesting to see how people work, and see how much you put into your amazing animation 😍
Thanks Rachelle! 😃

Love the nighttime shot - those shadows really sell it!
WOW!! Loved the scene where they're within the clouds!! Beautiful process video!! 🙌⛰🌼✨
Thanks! 😃
Love it! Couldn't help but smile when I saw the characters move in that timelapse style.
Rainy days are the vibes, you did a great job capturing that!
cozy rainy days are the best

Really great work! I'm just dipping my toes into 3D tools right now and it's so helpful to see how you combine 3D and 2D workflows
Dang that's amazing! So much of work is needed for a such a short scene. I often times feel that animators are underappreciated.
