Thanks a lot. It's really helpful information. I have one use case, where my database is super critical and I want to have my rollback option ready if anything goes wrong on the green cluster after couple of day of switchover. can we have this binary log replication back from Green to Blue after switchover? That will provide us the ready option to rollback if anything goes wrong on the green cluster. we can have blue cluster running for a week or more to ensure everything is fine after switchover and then decide to terminate blue cluster.

Hi, thankyou for sharing this process. It seems you´re only covering the upgrade from a provisioned cluster. How is the process for a Serverless Aurora? The documentation says, I need to create a provisioned version of the snapshot to upgrade to Aurora v3. But how can I get this back into a Serverless Aurora then? Thankyou

My problem is that my cluster parameter group and basically everything was created by CFT. Now we are supposed to do bg upgrade through aws console. How we will manage our cft then? Correct me please.
Hi there, I am very sorry for the frustration I hear this is causing you! Can you please provide a bit more info so I can see how to best help you? When you refer to CFT, are you referring to AWS CloudFront or Cloud Formation? ^DC

Amazing video, thank you so much for sharing with us. I do have one question. We have a Global Aurora Database using MySQL 5.7, global database doesn't support blue/green deployment. We did the POC in a low environment and have 10 minutes downtime. How can we reduce the database downtime during the upgrade?
Great question! The info in this link may help you get started on reducing downtime during an upgrade: go.aws/4dqb6aW. If not, feel free to post your question on re:Post for expert community guidance: go.aws/aws-repost. 📝 ^LG
How did you go about with the upgrade ? I am using RDS proxy, so it does not support blue/green deployment. How do I approach this with minimum downtime ?
