I love you Tim.
(Edit) i had to edit a lot of the audio out of this vid when it started getting bigger so if it seems a bit weird in places, that’s why
wait tim i love you too notice us
Dmitriy Zhevelev has people
someone named Tim should say "I love you too"
notice me senpai tim
Can I have your Ibanez? I really need a new guitar my old one having neck problems.
“I can’t tell if it’s an a flat or a g sharp”
You laugh but the key that you're in determines whether it's Ab or G#.
yeah, I laughed for a second and had to pretend I didn't halfway through
@@mosley3485 ? how? they are the same thing
Devin Boutte yeah they sound the same, but in terms of theory, you’d be wrong to assume that a song in the Key of Eb has a G# instead of an Ab.
@@Alfpancho Maaaaaan why does this have to be so complicated lol.
So I was under the impression that the direction you're changing the note in determines whether it's flat or sharp.
Like if you go from A to A#, it's not Bb because you're moving up the scale, and if the song starts there it's sharp?
this was actually hella fun to watch and ur ear is super good
stickypotion I really appreciate that my guy, thanks for subscribing!
Spoiler alert. Learn song before hand, pretend you don't know it, pretend to learn by ear.
Jerad Scharrer i understand skepticism on the internet, but that negativity isnt really wanted here. Even if it is fake, who cares? We dont lose anything.
Jerad Scharrer it’s his identification and theory knowledge that makes it more impressive even if he’d already learned it
@@ubhumma Spoiler alert: Negativity is allowed anywhere, doesn't matter what you want. If you don't want negativity, don't respond to it putting yourself involved with it. It's quite easy to ignore an opinion that differs from yours.
Another spoiler: Sarcasm.
Hes like me trying to learn a new song but he actually understands music
yes
"What is he doing there?! I claim studio magic."

I said the same shit trying to learn goat the other day.
@@adeergg bruh HAHAHHA so relate right now, learned GOAT 2 days ago finally got it on speed today

Polyphia songs in a nut shell
Why doesn’t this has more views?
Ikr it doesn't look like a 8k views video at all
Because TH-cam algorithm only pushes videos from big channels so small timers barely get a chance at growing
Views incoming :::
its pumpin views now, got recommended to me today, if it was at 8k 6 days ago, now at 40k sounds pretty good
Cause this doesn't deserve it!
My last brain cell trying to learn polyphia
Same🤣🤣
Same lol
just got this in my recommended and this is already my favorite channel

This guys got me laughing and respecting his musical knowledge all at once lol

I think this is the most accurate video ever made describing how to learn a song by ear.
he is right polyphia songs do sound like a lot of Adderall and to much free time
This video is what its like in my ADHD addled head trying to figure out songs by ear
I can really relate
This is my first time seeing you... I see a very intelligent, talented, and creative guy... keep on bro!
Fun fact: Judy didn't monetise this video
because he wants ads to die
because he likes diads

Ok you need more subs. I came here looking for help on learning this myself. Not only did I get that, but a comedy act too. Nice one bro
This channel is the drunk quarantine content I needed
I can't believe it took TH-cam seven months to recommend this video to me
The algorithm never wanted you to see me, I think we all are very happy you finally made it
I'm genuinely amazed you got it that clean. It's still kinda sloppy, but it's still really fucking impressive. Good job man.
How do you not have at least 1mil subs? This guy is so fcking funny, talented, ear trained and patient... This just made my day
Why tim, why?
The chaotic energy on this video is as huge as Tim's guitar skills.
Meta observation: the sheer number of comments telling you that you that this channel will continue to grow and that the algorithm brought them here, as well as, the fact that those same forces drove me here shows you that, if you continue to regularly produce content here you will blow up sooner or later. Keep at it dude!
That's my future, getting drunk and talking to the camera and playing guitar. It's sad but that's what geniuses do
Alchohol decreases neuroplasticity so not good when learning something new. But yes it helps you feel the music
Mans is 19 I think, I think it’s tea LOL
@@brileystewart bruh this is not tea...look at the mans eyes. Still a fantastic video. But he is either baked out his mind or that is alcohol lol

I got this on my recommended, I love how chaotic and all over the place it is, keep going dude!
See yall in 3 years when this is in our recommendets
don’t know how this doesn’t have more views, this is great lol.
This video is too fucking entertaining for you to only have 62 subscribers. Excellent content my friend
Thanks a lot my guy, I’m gonna be working to get those numbers up so be sure to stick around!
I subbed in a matter of 10 seconds and I haven't listened to Polyphia once in my lifetime. You're amazing.
I'm drunk, and I feel like you're drunk, and that's why I like this so much lol
this might be my favorite video on all of youtube. idk but the vibe/humor and the music just kill me every time. Love you Judy
I personally have a wood block that I use for the bridge to lock it when I am changing strings/ tuning
Nice. the questioning your motivation for learning a whole prog song after the first riff is exactly what I learned trying to do goat. And I learn by ear too. Because I’m lazy and overconfident haha. Then I always play things a little wrong because I’m stubborn and don’t wanna look at tabs.
Heres a like for learning this by ear. youre a mad man
I tried playing Tim's recent featured solo bit on Unprocessed's song. Shit was HARD and I kinda gave up. I'm in love with the comedy you have in this. Dropping a sub. Good ear my dude.
man ur about to blow up i can feel it. keep it up
I really appreciate it my guy thanks for watching!
@@unclejudymusic told you 🤘👍
Alexi laiho? Weren't you on children of bodom?
You've got like a big idubbbz or maxmofoe energy. I dig it
Haha I love when people see my biggest influences
@@unclejudymusic lol, I miss those guys. I'm in, dude. Consider me a fan and remember me when you get big
I understand the pain of learning by ear without perfect pitch I learned most of Up Into The Ether by I Built the Sky and that was a nightmare even with slowing it down. You weren't far off by any means I think you did great for the time you spent on it. Keep up the good work :)
You're really good! I didn't think you needed to make this a livestream although, it would've been tight to see you play the whole riff at the end.
This is exactly how I am when transcribing something difficult. Losing my damn mind.
Your suffering really is entertaining. Subbed to u
I love watching you slowly be defeated by this one riff haha
PLEASE don’t stop grinding. You just gained the quickest sub in the history of this channel. So excited to binge your entire collection uploads!
He walked in with high hopes and came out even more broken than before
wooo thanks for the entertainment dude. i laughed like, the whole vid tho.
and i really appreciate your skills.
it's good.
i love you tim henson
This was in my recommended, watched half of it, subscribed. You had me with your personality. Keep going my dude
I am dealing with a constant depression because I never practice my instruments to develop my natural music abilities so I can actually have skill. I was too afraid to tell my mom and my teachers that I wanted to pursue music after higschool. I was in all the band and music classes and excelled (even tho I didn't practice) and LOVED it. now I am 25 and I feel like I have wasted the past 8 years of my life. I have no self discipline in any area of my life and deal with crippling social anxiety and borderline agoraphobia. And I have this dying passion to be a performing musician and it is driving me INSANE. Though, I do sing a lot. I guess that counts as practice, though I could use some lessons, I don't think I'm too shabby. Could def be better tho.
Its never too late bro. Don't waste another 8 years, and get back to it!
start doing a youtube channel with inusual cover or your own songs!!
I understand how you feel, I get no motivation to practice my instruments and all i want to do is perform music in a band with my best friends (which sadly doesnt happen anymore). One month i'll be playing my guitar and bass nonstop and then suddenly one day "BOOM" there's nothing and my guitars collect dust for the next 5 months and all my skill disappears with it...
What i think what needs to be done is you need to find someone with the same passion for music as you which will give you that motivation... easier said than done though..
I wish you all the best in your future though and hope you find that spark to get your motivation.. Stay strong
U just gotta start practicing don’t waste any more time u got this
Music is fun and an escape from society, don’t look at it like it’s your calling, look at it like its your happy place
instant sub after like 30 seconds. thanks for entertaining me and showing me that the mortal human being in general struggles with this.
Tim hybrid picking. A technique where the pick comes in a downward stroke (as it usually does) but the middle and ring finger are utilized in an upward plucking fashion to add notes into a cord or progression without doing a full sweep of the pick and making and entire cord. It's done do to isolate all notes in an instances such as a cord and instead of producing a single stroke cord u produce entirely individual notes that all stand alone even if played simultaneously. Tim also does a tap version of thise method. But in the instance I think it's the normal hybrid picking hes doing.
What an interesting youtube wormhole from the algorithm . I actually watched the whole thing, so it knows me well. I wish your channel success.
Yo this was the most entertaining video I've seen in a long time lmao I've already given up on guitar bro just teach me how to vibe
11:24 killed me 😅😅😅 great content. Subbed!
I'm glad ur vids are finally getting some traction. The views have already doubled in a week. Hope for the best, I really like your content You Deserve More
The fact that you learn 40oz by ear. Mad respect. Liked and subscribed!
TH-cam finally did the right thing with its recommended
Dude you are so talented. I hope you get more popular.
The second you said "Setting up a Floyd Rose" . . . I knew I had to like the video.
I just found your channel and I fucking love this shit dawg.
Please dont stop. Also, you remind me of me when I drink and try to teach my friends how to play guitar lol
how have i not found this channel yet you're goin places dude
Dang kinda like the Pewdiepie of the guitar community xD
Just found your channel, and glad I did. Now I have to go and watch all your other videos :)
This is my new favorite YT channel. I'm a middle aged dinosaur, I don't do or "get" the whole watch other people doing guitar stuff on YT thang, but your ear, and your endevour, to plow through learning, while having some drinks reminds me old tapes of my mates and I BSing and jamming. Make more, uncle Judy, and set up a page where we can donate towards your preferred beverage of choice!
I really like the video man, it was really fun to watch! Keep going!!
Greetings from Uruguay
lmao you gained a subscriber like barely 60 seconds into the video i love this
You did this in 3 hours?!?!! You’re fucking nutty dude, I’ve spent over 12 hours playing on this song alone and can only play the intro at half speed. Literal legend right here, I’ve been playing for close to 5 years but no where near your skill.
its insane how you do this, and its super funny to watch. if this channel doesnt get big thats wack
I'm learning this song right now and I've just gotten the intro riff down, half of it actually but its funny to see someone else struggle with it too
this guy is way too underrated
The mental deterioration in this video sums it up perfectly when i approach Polyphia stuff
“Tim. Do you take addieswhen you’re writing this?”
Yoooo finding this video was the best thing of my day, you hella funny and an amazing guitarist
i just found this video and u are now my favorite youtuber now this is gold
Dude, your personality and editing is on 🔥 this was a quality vid.
This channel deserves more attention. Very cool, subbed.
well bro, you just bgot another subsriber. your killing it.... Polyphia is really hard to play. good job my guy!
Alexi laiho learning polyphia song! This is breaking news
Great video from an underrated content creator. Looking forward to more in the future!
love the videos
love the attitude
youre gonna go far uncle
This is one of the most entertaining things I've watched. You're great haha!
I don't really know if he was sober when the video started or if he was even sober the whole time
-Tim uses HYPERPICkING and HYBRID PICKING which is like picking and fingerstyle at the same time, watch "the worst" playthrough it should illuminate some things about that odd sounding run
Good vid! :3
Beanos FrickoMode I bet this dude is the most annoying person to hang out with, Jesus Christ dude. What a know it all.
@@TomTom-uw9el o.o
Hey bro thanks, sorry about this dude^ but uh yeah
-that was a joke
-I know polyphia is not jazz just another joke (I’ve made many jokes about people thinking 7ths make anything jazz)
-an interval is the difference in pitch between 2 notes and the harmony they create, dyads are 2 note chords, much like triads consist of 3.
-and I learned what hybrid picking is when I learned under the bridge by rhcp when I was 7.
I love you tho no joke. Thanks for watching!!
@@unclejudymusic damn I feel bad now ;-; quarantine must be getting to me or something. Keep up the videos lol, I honestly enjoyed this one :)

As a guitar player it was so entertaining to watch youtube guitarist learning a song. Well yt algorithm recommended me here since its Polyphia lol.
Comedic and informative wtf this is top tier.
Why am I barley seeing this and discovering you!? Fucken chill and funny as fuck
bro you’re hilarious hahaha. you had me dying at the whole vid. trying to learn any polyphia song by ear sounds sooo tough.

Edit: Also didn't mention the playing. You're insane for learning this by ear. Extremely well down

Holy duckshit batman the TH-cam algorithm actually worked for once recommending me this video . This dude is hilarious!! +1 sub
Hearing my guitar being played like that makes me feel like I need to practice more...
