Exercise Talisman Sabre 2023 was the largest military exercise hosted by Australia and the US in the Pacific Ocean. At least 30,000 military personnel took part in the exercise.
The exercise was aimed at showing a united Pacific front against China.

its not really aimed at china, Talisman Sabre is a shared training platform so that different countries can learn to integrate together in the event of any sort of situation. From Command and Control to boots on the ground. As each country uses a different system this exercise like RIMPAC is more about them learning to operate effectively despite their differences in things like language as for why its held in Australia. guess because we have such vairied terrain and towns happy to host training exercises as well as large and VERY large training areas that large exercises can be held. it was started in 2005 long before Chinas current south China sea aggressive stance.
I wonder why Vanuatu and Solomon Island were not invited to join this drill exercises. My grand parents involve with WII and Vanuatu was one of the biggest US base during WII.
