Good Day!I am planning to change my laptop (same as this model) with a samsung 850 evo ssd...But my laptop has an actual cd rom in it and when I try to take it apart (took all the screws off) Im afraid I'd break the cd rom..Is there a separate screw for the cd rom or I just have to eject it before i remove all the screws and take it apart?What should I do..Very helpful vid btw..Keep it up!

Here are better spec Hardware - amzn.to/2PDG5FT is for the ram $70 amzn.to/2CQb3Yz is for the hard drive $66 , amzn.to/2NMhmgS is for a USB Docking station $23. so about $150 total for an 8 gig upgrade with a 250 gig SSD drive, and if you want a 16 gig memory upgrade add $70 on that. Yeah the batteries are small and the run time is not good. if your looking to use it longer you can try and turn down the brightness since the monitor is the biggest power hog.
I have the same, I think, Laptop. but mine's motherboard is laid out a little different. the blacl thing for the caddy (sorry if I butchered that) is the whole thing, and I do not have the gold piece by my fan, is there different configurations for that laptop?
Antekdzi1 yes as long as the connector is the same you want to make sure the mhz match I think it will defer to the slowest one. So make sure you have a match to get the best performance gain
Phillip Tran you can, but I have switched to power director. It is full featured and is cheap. It renders videos super fast. I am doing 1080p at 30. But I can render a 10 min video in like 4min. I paid 60.00 and it was the ultimate Version. You can download a free demo and try it before you buy. I have a review on my channel also. I made my first videos with the GoPro software but I wasn't trying to get fancy. Power director is better for 4K.
Cedric Clement yup you would have to take out the cd rom to use the caddy, the caddy uses the connection. They do make portable cd roms but you don't have to use it if you don't need the extra data space.
your SSD should have software to migrate. this will make an exact copy including hidden files and files in use. you can't copy and paste. what kind of SSD do you have???

my family accept for my uncle does not know anything abiut computer's so i either had to get a part time job to hire someone to do it for me or do it myself

could be a slightly different model. the caddy works well but I had a problem with the connection lining up. is all

as log as the SSD drive you have is larger than the data used on the source drive you should be good. I used samsung. I like them the best.
