    Thanks. Great video for this fix. Replaced my screen twice.
    Careful with the ear speaker. (My first time I pried in the middle of the ear speaker and it disintegrated. Replaced it during the second screen replacement).
    Also my new screen did not have a small electronic part next to the digitizer cable which had to be transferred from the old screen. I have no idea what this part is but I can play "spot the difference" between old and new.

    Hi! I bought the screen assembly from your Amazon link, a thousand thanks for your detailed perfect instructions.
    My question is, I broke the volume flexible cable. Where can I buy the cable?
    Thanks again!

      the LCD is attached to the frame. you would not be able to remove it without breaking it.

    YOU ALSO NEED TO REMOVE THE CONNECTOR FOR THE SPEAKER (bottom left corner) OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE NO SOUND!!!! nevertheless a very good video!

      That's exactly what mobile phone I have. It didn't work for 2 years after I dropped it in the toilet. But it's working great again, and then it fell on the floor last night and cracked the screen. It still works but I'm so upset for not putting a screen protector on it.

    I call a store and was told that they have to replace the whole screen even if my glass screen is just cracked...is that true? I'd like to just buy the glass screen on Amazon and do it myself but I just want to make sure before I take my phone apart because I've never done this before. Where can I get that screw driver and prying tool from?

    • @VictorErol
      @VictorErol 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will come with most replacement kits. Do yourself a favor and get the LCD/frame replacement kit. It's virtually impossible to remove broken glass from the LCD without scratching it and then bond the new glass in a way that doesn't look absurd.

  • @evanbaxter7356
    @evanbaxter7356 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    PSA: This method is definitely more difficult than it appears in this video. Alot of the small parts, especially the volume and power button flex cables, are sealed down very tightly with adhesive and can easily be damaged by any attempt to remove them.

    • @SrogieGrzyby
      @SrogieGrzyby 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly. After following this video most people will probably damage flex cables...

    • @VictorErol
      @VictorErol 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SrogieGrzyby I found after ripping the volume flex cable to shreds that the copper part isn't what needs to come off but rather that it sits on a silver metal piece that comes off much more easily.

    Make a video on HOW TO JUST REPLACE SCREEN MOT LCD

    • @VictorErol
      @VictorErol 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This may be infeasible for many people, because the glass is glued to the LCD. If the glass is broken, the process for removing it typically ends up scratching the underlying LCD. I had precisely this problem and ended up having to get the replacement LCD and frame kit, which fortunately comes pre-glued and looks perfect.

    my phone jus broke and the touch still works ....should the digitizer b changed as well ?

    • @VictorErol
      @VictorErol 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, because it's much easier to get a new LCD/digitizer pre-glued to new glass and the cost is barely any higher.

  • @sm4r7m0u53

    Damn! You forgot to tell us to move the loud speaker in the new display! I had to open again the phone :(

    • @imKanda
      @imKanda 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the loudspeaker is attached to the mid frame of the device. if you had to "move" over a loudspeaker, you don't have an LG X Power. If you're talking about the rubber gasket that has the contacts for the loud speaker, he didn't move it over because the new LCD he purchased came with it already installed. If yours doesn't come with it, the gasket with the contacts comes out very easily and does not require tape or glue to install into new frame. Explaining in case someone has this same issue.

    • @sm4r7m0u53
      @sm4r7m0u53 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kanda Yes, I mean the gasket (yes, my phone is LG X Power). Thank you.

    Will you need a heatgun or glue? Other videos show the need to use the heatgun to detach elements and glue to put stuff in the new frame. Is it needed?

    • @PeterRobotMusic
      @PeterRobotMusic 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I tried to just follow these instructions, and I broke my volume flex cable trying to take it off because the glue was too strong. Just put my phone back together with the broken screen, didn't want to break my power flex cable too. I think this guy might be mistaken that these pieces are going to be held down only with a light adhesive on every lg x power.

    • @TheKritickill99
      @TheKritickill99 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My case back was held on with a bit of some sort of rubber tape that made removing it very difficult. Wouldn't try a heatgun with it. Seems very likely to damage parts.

    • @VictorErol
      @VictorErol 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PeterRobotMusic You may have made the mistake I did: what you're trying to remove where it gets tough (the big part) is not the copper part of the cable but the underlying metal platform to which the copper is pre-bonded. The metal plate is easy to remove with a prying tool. If you try to remove the copper, you're going to end up wrecking it (as I did).

      because the part he purchased was the glass and LCD, which requires a frame attached. it says it in the title of the video. If youre trying to only replace the glass, you should find a video showing that.
