Yasmine Naghdi has been a favourite for a while now and here she shows why. Daria Vasnetsova is lovely but it looked like a struggle in the beginning. Sae Eun Park just blitzed it. What a beautiful version of a favourite variation.

All three of them are great. And, Park's immaculate execution is quite impressive.

I also liked Park (all those dancers are great) - but Park made it technically precisely detailed dance, I enjoyed. I wonder - no applauds to that ballerina at the end of her variations or just no sound?

Yasmine Naghdi for me. The delicate arm work contrasting with the strong legwork is a beautiful combination.

One of my favourite variations ever! I love all of these dancers so much, and i love how they each interpret the dance differently! Personally, I must say my favourite is Yasmine. The way she looks at the beginning, sombre and solemn, and dancing extremely slow and showing off her beautiful technique. And then the contrast with the temps levés, she starts to look happy like she’s really enjoying the dance and speeds up a lot. Thank you so much for this compilation of these beautiful dancers!

My favorite here is Naghdi and I also enjoyed the contrast of the serious expression and the smile. It always looks strange to see any of the Shades smiling all the way through a variation. I enjoyed Vasnetsova but not Park, who was cold and mechanical.

There is something profound about ballet. Their moves are so detached from reality - nevertheless, the story they tell is still inseparable from it. Their jumping and dancing and prancing is something we would never do - nevertheless, whether we sit with a stack of papers we won't have time to finish or hear birds chirping outside on our break, we can relate to it. We can relate to it because it is fundamentally human. Ballet is not about the dance. Ballet is about what the dance says. And the dance says to us: "this is real - this is what life is like." And so, we listen. We listen to the orchestra, and we watch their ballet - and it touches us deeply. Because even if it is on a stage, it is not a performance, but a reality. That is what makes it so great. That is what is great about ballet.
At least that is what I make of it at this moment. I might be wrong and I am sure my opinion will change in the future as I learn more. But in this moment I feel a stronger urge to post it than leave it be.

Somehow, I've never considered that there are differences in such variations...as there is no real character portrayal - and not so significant changes in costumes etc (as it is with the fairiy variations in Sleeping Beauty) or story line, especially dealing with the ending traditions...... What I'm also considering right now that there are such typical groups of three ballerinas in romantic ballet, besides the three shades also the three odalisques in Le Corsaire. I've also read that in the first Swan Lake production the Pas de Trois in Act 1 was danced by three ballerinas (and not as the one man - two women structure, as Petipa did it in 1895 with his iconic classic Swan Lake choreography). I wonder, why it is not reconstructed anymore in this romantic manner, with probably the girls with different temperaments perhaps show-dancing for Siegfried, perhaps even to get his attention. .....

Yes, it is an interesting topic. This triadic structure of variations is often used in ballets and it would be interesting to go deeper :) Thanks for your comments! How's going with your projects and ideas? We lost the previous messages somewhere in the comments of another videos but we were interested :) Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!

@@DanceLineBallet Thank you for your answer! I'm glad that you are still interested in my ideas, as I've a great passion for ballet stories and history .I've uploaded some videos on my channel, for example also the 12 zodiac signs with ballets (I still did not upload the personality test I suggested under your video of the Aurora variations, as I didn't know, whether you would want to do a video with it on your own, but if you do not mind it, I could upload my suggestion in a kind of video style). I've also uploaded a lot of videos dealing with the history of Swan Lake, and I will also keep it doing....especially dealing with a possible reconstruction/revival of the 1877 Swan Lake (I'm also trying to do artwork for it!). I hope also to upload a summary for my Swan Lake research, but I 'm still very busy, so all my work is delayed (as well as my TH-cam access...). By the way, if you need inspiration, you can also take a look at the ballet playlists on my channel! I've been putting together as many interesting performances as possible (sadly, most of these are also getting removed.again and again...), but I hope also to do as a next project video playlists with e.g. all Swan Lake performances worldwide (and Nutcracker etc.). My problem is that I'm still only a small channel, with only a few subscribers, so I always hope rather to expand and share my ideas with comments...Perhaps, some time later, I'm more connected (using maybe Deviantart or Instagram) and so I could perhaps share more my ideas. Most of my ideas deal with Tchaikovsky. And I love the romantic ballets! For my research, I've got to know so many interesting lost ballets, such as "Odette", "Eoline", "La Peri" or "La Fille du Danube". I'm still a bit careful with copy right, as I'm quite new here on TH-cam, using only PowerPoint and a video editor for my projects.....

These three dancers were not that good at this short performance as compare to other top dancer like Evgenia . The worst one is Naghdi , the better one among all three in this video is Park.
