Laura Cusack She just admitted it wasn’t a mistake as her Mum corrected her too. She clearly thought that pasta was tagliatelle. Lydia has lied on her channel before by saying she is Italian (she was born in England and both her parents were born in Britain too) so I really don’t see how that makes her Italian 🤔 so it amused me that this “Italian” woman doesn’t know her pastas, I wasn’t meaning to be rude.
Lydia, i want to give you some advice regarding your panelling situation in the courtyard (i hope you don't mind). As an architect who as dealt with circumstances like this, please stay away from wood panelling. It doesn't matter how 'water proof/resistant' it is, you will be unhappy with the results after a year or two and will have exactly the same issues that you have with the wall. Look instead for a composite, which will not only be water proof, it will also maintain it's appearance and be much easier to maintain in an area of no light. This will also be MUCH less than £10k also (including paving etc)

@Kirsty I was actually thinking the same thing..I'm actually looking into doing my patio and i don't want something im going to have to keep maintaining so did some research and found out about plastic composite? It actually looks very much like wood but less stress ..Would this be a cheaper option? Do u happen to know?
@@missb_8816 Not only does it look the same but it has the same materiality, texture and weight wise. You really wouldn't be able to tell the difference at all! i think some are maybe put off by the idea thinking it's 'cheap plastic' but these composite materials are amazing and are far from plastic. With regards to maintenance too, that's why i suggested it - you can find composites that don't allow algae to grow (which would save Lydia/Ali the job of having to clean/pressure wash it all the time because that area is a breading ground for it due to moister and lack of light. If they used natural wood, their problem would shift from pealing paint to greening wall, just like their spiral stair case going down there)
It would be much cheaper that it's pure wood counterpart, £-wise and time-wise. No need to reseal and stain every year. No beaching by the sunlight. No cleaning away of plant material etc

I get your point but to be more eco-friendly in future you need to make the purchases now eg buying reusable bottles to reduce plastic use in future. At least Lydia is trying to be more eco-friendly

Olive trees require a lot of sun so sadly they wouldn't do well in that shady spot. Same goes for most topiary plants, like boxwood. For a shadier spot you should consider plants like ferns and hostas. Imagine plants that like to grow in the forest under trees, those are the kinds of plants that will do well in shady locations. xx
hi, I'm from vietnam and it's quite humid here so i'm wondering if olive tree is okay? Also it's only 40cm high now but does it need big pot?
Anh Thy Nguyen your tree will be fine in humid conditions, as long as there’s plenty of sun. Just let the soil dry a little between watering. :) It’s good to repot to allow room for new roots. A good size for the next pot would be around 10 cm larger in diameter than the current one. 🌱

When you redo your front flower beds, you should be able to repurpose the slate slabs to create a patio outside of your office. The garden team will have to pack and level the ground and move the slabs but you basically have free slate slab which is great!

I like tidy baskets used for storage, I'm into all that too, it's good to know where everything is when you need it💁🏽💁🏽Fusili pasta is usually the cork screw ones, and even that comes in different versions👀😜😜, and it's a long way off from tagliatelle 😆which is usually served with a thicker sauce; tagliatelle is a long flatter pasta, and you can make a nice starter with that too👍🏾👍🏾

Fairy liquid is not sustainable, neither is replacing a plastic recycling bin for purely aesthetic reasons. Love you Lydia but if u r going to do sustainable, research it a bit more and what it really means and look at other brands. Fairy is full of mineral oil. ❤️

Lydia Elise Millen it’s not a thing you get “better at as you go” you literally can google it and learn all you need to know in 30 minutes, not troll amazon for the most “aesthetically pleasing” garbage bins
I tend to agree. Love your content, Lydia, but I think we all need to rethink (and research) 'sustainability'. 'Sustainable' is not throwing out all plastics and replacing them with refillable containers. The containers that have been thrown out have now not even lasted for their full single use. A better idea would be to, when products are used up, don't re-buy and begin to replace them with refillables. Same goes for buying packaged foods and decanting them into containers. Too many people are doing this. The true sustainable point of refillables (whether they are in the kitchen, laundry, bathroom, etc.) is to use bulk stores, etc. However, it's so important and heartening, to see more and more people moving toward sustainability and being environment-focused. It's not necessarily about everyone getting everything perfect 100% of the time (though this is the goal), but if everyone can do the few things that work for them and their life, imagine the impact 🙌💙

Almost everyone can benefit from a probiotic supplement. Unless you eat a ton of yogurt and fermented foods, you’re probably not getting optimal amounts from your diet. I started taking probiotics ten years ago to help with acne, and it changed my skin completely! A few times I’ve been slow to restock myself and I can tell after just a few days that I need to get back on them. So good for overall health, but keeping your skin clear is a heck of a bonus and the visual gratification keeps you taking them regularly. I’m so glad the gut skin connection is becoming more common knowledge, I work in a spa and have recommended these to so many clients since I stumbled upon them and I’ve noticed in recent years, people are more likely to know what I’m talking about and I don’t have to explain from ground zero.

Laura amazon has a ton, I currently use Jarrow saccharomyces boulardii +mos it’s a yeast probiotic so it’s not as fragile as most and has a very good likelihood of actually making it to your gut and not being destroyed by stomach acid. They’re a good value too 👍🏼

You need the basement tanked, which will last years. As for plants we have an area similar that sees hardly any light, try Alchemilla Mollis, Anenome splendens, Geranium Rozanne, Rodgersia Crug Cardina, Dryopteris Affini, Hyrangea, Vinca - trailing evergreen leaves with flowers. X
