Not sure if you will see the brother but if you do could you please let me know where you get your stainless wire from? I have a hard time finding it in straight lengths like what you use. Cheers all the way from Aus.
Very nice batch of baits excellent crath man ship!!! BSI finishing resin is what I youse for clear coat it is excellent, fin and does not have much bubbles great stuff!!!
Love the look fishermen would buy but the fish wouldn't care... plus you should have bigger hooks. Now with all that said very beautiful job. Your skill is exceptional.
I’m sure you already know the ‘baking soda and superglue’ trick. That would have worked great for securing the through-wire if you immediately wish to continue working on it 👍🏻 it also allows instant sanding if you use it instead of the bondo to secure the lead 👌🏻 Amazing work as always 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
i usually work with batches of baits so i don't really require an instant dry time. usually when i'm finished with the last bait i can start sanding the first one.
My friend Todd used to make The Phantom Lure line of muskie glidebaits before he passed away a couple of years ago. I'd hang out at his shop and watched him work. When he did his final epoxy clear coat he'd take a Bernzomatic propane torch and lightly sweep the heat over the epoxy. This brought the air bubbles to the surface where they'd burst and disappear. Then he'd put the lure on the rotating drying rack. Hold the flame away from the lure about 1 to 2 feet. You don't want to burn the lure, just lightly heat it enough so the air bubbles disappear. A couple of quick passes with the torch should do the trick.
Immortal - At the heart of Winter. To me, the best ever black metal album. Oh, and the bait is pretty damn nice, as expected. It's really nice to see you do a crankbait. Greetings from the Netherlands
At the heart of winter was one of my earliest black metal albums i heard so it always will have a special place in my heart altough i think overall my fav is pure holocaust.
@@SolarfallBaits that one's fantastic too, agreed. Btw, would be real nice to see you make a spoon again. Also cause for all i know they still like to use them up there in canada. Blashyrkh mighty raven spoon.
Beautiful bait. I have made a few deep divers. some worked and some did not. I don't know enough about the physics to understand why. I sometimes have an issue with the bait wanting to dive, but not wobble - it does this porposing thing, bobbing up and down, but not side to side. do you have any thoughts what I am missing in my understanding? Tried moving the line tie up and down the lip. Thanks.
I never liked to shape the lurebody with wire harness and lip already glued in , as these often get in the way of knife strokes and sandpaper passes . To overcome this , I had just pinned the two halves together with two or three crosswise pins(pieces of toothpicks or kebab sticks or wire pins) right after having them sawed out , so that I could work them down symetrically and afterwards still be able to separate them again before any glue would be applied . Best greetings , Dieter

Nice video! That carving knife with a red handle you use looks very mutch as a classic Morakniv. Is it maybee a tool you brought from Soumi? Greetings from Stockholm!
Great job! Beautiful baits! However, the technology is rather complicated and time-consuming due to the wire loops. I make it much easier and faster from a solid piece of wood, because I use a screw-in loop. 18:15 And in order for the paint to hold well, I must, before painting, process the surface with sandpaper so that it becomes dull and only after that I apply a primer and paint. It is very important ! And I showed this in detail in my videos...
Its true that there are easier ways of doing this but would defeat the purpose of showing an alternative way of going about this and thats kind of the whole point of the video.
Seeing as you have a dremel, why not use it to cut a groove for your through wire to sit in? It makes for a nice, snug fit and you dont need to make all those fiddly spacers! That's how I do my two-part baits. Fantastic overall result though. Great work!
Excellent video, I asked for a striper but its ok... hahahah I asked for a golden dorado swimbait as well and it never came either... hahah Great job AGAIN!!!
How do you keep your wood from splitting when making the weight hole? I tried with a drill when making a simple lipless bait and ended up splitting part of the nose off. Also what kind of wood?
It really helps if you use quality drill Brad point drill bits, fostner bits will work nicely as well. To be honest I don't recall what type of wood this was, it came from wood palette so it could be anything.
@@SolarfallBaits thanks, will look into some proper drill bits, quicker than dremeling out the hole to a specific diameter, save the dremel for shaping and carving :)
Fantastic skills, which make it look way too easy =) One question: what is the magical brush you use for Epoxy coating, or how do you treat it after coating to keep it soft and bendable?

I've had other BPM baits th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 before and they've pretty much always came through for me with the suskie smallies here and even with the walleye and pike, but I realized I didn't have an "in-between" pattern so this junebug one fills that role in no problem. it pairs up magnificently with a junebug Zoom Z-craw Jr that was trimmed a couple millimeters before the hook slots and rigged sideways for that fatter panfish side profile while still being a nice'n'compact presentation, a real power-finesse bait. Hell, it was so pretty I even bothered to fotosketch the pic into a watercolor painting image just to show you it's beauty! Even the blades are really well made, sure, they're not of Hildebrandt-level exquisiteness but look at the bead's reflection on the colorado blade, definitely well-made! The only "problem" spot it had was a bald spot in the skirt but it was nothing that I couldn't easily fix with a but of tuggin'n'shiftin' with the strands for a couple of seconds, besides that it is pretty minty!
