Hello you❣️. I like putting a stencil underneath a magazine page, then sand it. The design shows thru and adds interest😉.
Yes, that does give amazing results! ❤️
I'm really enjoying your sessions. I love to paint papers and then collage them together in art pieces or a journal along with layers of magazine cut outs and some fabrics. It's great play. I've just realised that I have a huge stash of embellishments, decorative pieces to use too. Thanks for showing us new ideas and how to do it all.
My pleasure and so glad you're enjoying the videos. Have fun. 😊
I work on the outside and bring things in and use a ring bound journal, but Im inspired by these regular bound journals, too. I like to have the freedom to make pages out of my art or rearrange things, but I love the way these journals look.
Sometimes I will work lose and then just glue what I create onto the bound pages. Give it a try maybe with a "practice" journal. 😊
Hello Roben, how much I'm enjoying your video today. And enjoying your mention of making lunch for your husband, so down to earth, so relatable, even across the world. And, as I'm loving your painted papers and collages, I'm also liking this style of your nails - thinking the single colour elongates and sophisticates. Thank you, as always, for your creativity and your shared videos. All best wishes.
My pleasure and you're most welcome. It was fun! I often get my nails done but I recently discovered Hello Love nails from Tiffany Goff Smith. They are press/glue on and they are so nice and super easy to work with. helloloveinc.com/southerngal
Hi Roben, I cannot jump in this time but will be looking forward to joining in January. I have followed you since your class for a Journal that was made with corrugated cardboard. I can't for the likes of me remember the class name. I just remember I was living in a Hotel for work. I know its past but wish your husband Happy Birthday for me!!
That it so sweet! He's not huge on celebrating but I think sometimes he just down plays it. It is nice to be pampered on our day. Hope to see you next time around. I am thinking that might have been Cardboard Crush that I did as part of Art to the 5th.
That is a beautiful wee book, thank you for sharing.
You're most welcome!😊
Robin, I loved to hear you say you work kinda slow, LOL. That’s me! I feel better already 🤗xxx. I’m joining the “Robin’s Nest” and I’m so excited ! I’ve watched and admired you for a few years. I’m so glad I saw this just in time.
🌺🌸🌼Elizabeth
Hey, Elizabeth! Nice to connect with you and happy to have you in the Nest. 😊 Yes, there can be this tendency to feel like we have to "keep up" or do all the things and I don't want that. Come in and just play. Hang out and share. You get to decided. 🥳
Salvaged class is wonderful!! ❤ I learned SO much!!
Hey, Cathleen! So glad you enjoyed it. It has been my most popular course. 😊
Great session ❤
Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed it!😊
Thank you.
You're welcome!😊
Beautiful sketchbook ❤
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you for the warm up videos to your group Roben! Love your work and style. What kind of sewing machine do you use? Love the portability!
You're most welcome! I have an old sewing machine. You can find the details here: www.robenmarie.com/blog/2015/2/9/what-kind-of-sewing-machine-do-i-use.html

I JUST JOINED YAY❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Awesome, Lynn! So glad to have you and welcome!
I think the paint daubers are Krink
I used them at a friend's house that's why I could not recall. They were Ranger Paint Daubers. 🤣
Really enjoyed this Wonderful liz. Just found you so excited to get to know you more ❤
Thanks so much!😊
The insert reminds me of a match book.
Love what you're doing!!!!! I have Hallmark on in the background. 😊
Yes, I can see that. 😊
Roben can you please let me know where to buy your fav tracingpaper mead academie?
Would you believe that I found that tablet at a thrift store.? 🤣
Hi Roben, do you have or can you recommend a beginners collage course online, please
Hey!! I would start with this from my friend, Cat. She is amazing. It is a free challenge and you will learn so much. She also has a course opening soon. www.collageworkshops.com/start
Hello Roben, may I know ur small sewing machine brand it looks automatic and easy , safe to operate, my brother is bad..
What are those pencils you dip in water? Are they watercolor pencils?
I was using watercolor pencils by Faber-Castell but any will work like that.
Do you ever use rice paper?
I have tried it and found it was too "fibery" for me...that is not a word, but best I can to describe.
Hello I was wondering if this community is like super advanced because I'm super not😅
Hey, Shawn! No, I have newbies in mind and while the first project is hand stitching a journal, I teach you step-by-step. You can jump in and take part in what inspires you. There are no silly or dumb questions either. We all start out as beginners and I am here to answer questions and help along the way.😊
Music, Podcasts, nothing visual!
Thanks for sharing. Sometimes silence is best for me, too.
The size of the book is too small for me.
I work in many sizes. I think it depends on my mood and what I want to do. If I want to paint, etc. I go bigger.
