Wunderschön gesungen. Edita forever.
I admire this great singer , Edita Gruberova !⭐⭐
So wonderful to hear a soprano sing the opening phrase of this work in a single breath.
Actually she did took a breath, and she did it right in middle of the word: Trau-rigkeit. But she did it so fast and on pianissimo, so if you don't watch her you would barely notice it :)
Yulia Petrachuk Incredible... I had to watch it five times to notice it. She is one of a kind
@@YuliaPetrachuk And on the recap she carefully did a catch breath before Traurigkeit.
Lucia Popp (Sinopoli) does it in one breath, but the tempo is a tiny bit faster. However Gundula Janowitz (Karajan) does it in one breath in an even slower tempo!
Love Gruberova's singing! Breathtaking voice!
Herzenliebste gute nacht😢
Edita Gruberova was born 23.12.1946 in Slovakia. Mother: Hungarian, father: German. She is one of the world famous soprano singers. She is called a nightingale.
Wunderschön!
Thank you for this❤️ wonderful
Ich freue mich sehr über da Video, denn da hatte ich noch selbst mitgesungen!
Das kann ich verstehen, ich habe es selbst gesungen,im ESG-Chor als Bass II.Ich weiß,wie es einen ergreift und berührt.
Amazing Edita Gruberova!!! Battle is also divine (Kathleen Battle with the Wiener Philarmoniker. Conductor: Herbert von Karajan).
it is Edita Gruberova . Just took a look in th description ;)
Try Gundula Janowitz?s absolutely stunning phrasing and golden voice.
I likewise greatly admired Gundula Janowitz's rendition, which I heard in a performance by the Boston Symphony conducted by Ozawa. I believe it was a live radio broadcast, which I recorded and, alas, lost. Could you please advise me of the performance that you have on CD, so I can acquire it? Thanks. For what it's worth, my favorite performance of the Requiem is conducted by Herbert Kegel, and the Leipzig radio symphony (I think)--a very beautiful reverent performance.
Edita Gruberova
Elisabeth Gruemmer is supreme.
I know this piece with a little bit more speed and this here:
th-cam.com/video/hqIcldiIZAE/w-d-xo.html
was by far my favorite recording so far. Elisabeth Schwarzkopf was 32 years old at the time of recording (1947)
Now, look at the recording here:
There she is, Edita Gruberova, at the age of 42 (most likely slightly past the peak of her voice), in a live concert and compare those two recordings.
It is a matter of taste really, which one you prefer. That is how good Gruberova is.
Gruberova was surely one of the best sopranos of her time and she has just died on 18 October 2021 at age 74.
She will remain in our memories for all times and keep on living in her recordings for us.
Or the hair ;]
It is a historic recording. Don't be arrogant, the people from that time would probably look in dispise at your hair style.
I can listen but I can’t look...can’t get past the hideous hair
The nature of the voice was great but the mannerism are a HOT mess! Can she sing just still with emotion but just straight forward? The standard for this is Jessy Norman and the GREAT, ANGELIC, and extremely OUTSTANDING Lucia Poop!!
You idiot...do you think you can alter perception and truth of her by your rabid thrashing of her on as many of her performances as you have? You do not use your real name so you are a cowardly, greasy creep.
Lucia Popp war ihre Freundin und wäre sehr dagegen, gegen sie ausgespielt zu haben. Lucia mochte übrigens solche Typen überhaupt nicht.
Get over yourself, cultist.
