what i notice is all shits are coming together, i knew this will happen, but not like everything like this at same time to both Qin Xiao and Qi Lu. 1st is His Father, 2nd is Wu ge, 3rd is Qin Xiao grandpa, it is like every thing is f**k at the same time. just 3 eps we see their sweet moment, and now all things happen at once. it is like a peak situation here where both of them have to choose to face to their future. Again, crying too much for my main couple, happiness is illusion right, we cannot choose how we want to live. However i still hope for the best ending for them

The fears I had and shared in my comment of Episode 6 have turn out to come true. Back then I wrote: "I also hope that QI LU comes down to his senses, and start seriously figuring out HOW he wants to plan and organize his own future, without placing more pressure on QIN XIAO, and free - once and for all - from his father oppressive influence." Unfortunately QI LU failed completely to achieve this and has fallen into his father evil trap once again. Waiting for everything to be solved on its own has proven to be a huge mistake. From the moment he agreed to leave with his mother he should have moved out of his apartment, and hide away from his father. Well, now is too late for that, and not only QIN XIAO's future is also at stake, but his grandfather's life. QI LU's Dionysian emotions dominated by irrationality, sense for chaos, and passion, have lead him and his loved one to a path of destruction and pain. The only way I can picture out of this could be having the drug mafia gang issue involve QI LU's father, and that way get rid of him. 😏 It is really unfortunate that QIN XIAO's grandfather will be paying the price for QI LU's light and superficial ways of dealing with his personal matters regarding his father, and regarding the drug documentary issue. He has never consider the consequences of his actions, and keeps on failing over and over again, dragging down with him all the people around him. But what can we do: QI LU is the weakest and most foolish Chinese BL character that we ever had in a BL production. Not even MAI DING was such a weak character in spite of all his shortcomings in "Nobody Knows But Me" back in 2015. And MAI DING had to go really thru a lot of rejection from his family, with his grandmother fainting and having to be admitted to a hospital after finding out that he was gay and in love with another boy, something that ultimately lead him to end his relationship with AN ZI YAN in what is the most heart breaking Chinese BL scene of all times, even today. 😭😭😭 Well, regarding the lead couple there is no much more to say today. IF I try to figure out QIN XIAO's grandfather way of thinking I would go with the idea of wanting to stop being a burden for his grandson's future. Noticing that someone is trying to blackmail QIN XIAO must be the hardest feeling that 爷爷 - Yéyé - experienced in his long life. We will find out exactly how he died in the coming episode, and if those pictures were send by QI LU's father, or by the drug dealing gang. Right now is not possible to say with certainty who could have done it. Talking on the cinematography I am really disappointed with the sunrise scene sequence presented here from 29:11 Such a magical moment, so badly filmed and edited. Uff... Not even the scene with them showing their hands into the sky with the sunrise colors in the background was filmed properly. When I think about how hard it most have been for the entire technical team to climb up that high, with all that heavy equipments and all the effort, so early in the morning ... for THIS...???? 😳😵💫 When I think of how beautiful the sunset scene on The Great Wall Of China was filmed and presented in EP 15 of "Like Love" back in 2014, and compare it to this one here, well... the feelings are nothing alike. Even the dialogues have such a different impact considering the 10 years difference between the 2 Series. BUT I have to say that the actors Jiale GUO (as (QI LU) & Xuan Yu ZHANG (as QIN XIAO) make this moment as magical as they could with their amazing chemistry. For the second lead couple... I can just hope that TAN YIN realizes how dangerous could be for a private teacher not only to have a coming out, but to tell everyone to be in a relationship with such a young guy. Being mad and jealous over LIU MING YANG at at 22:45 is not only silly, but very immature in all possible ways. How old is TAN YIN actually? He looks like a teenager that should be in junior high school. Considering that there are no anti discrimination laws in China, any sort of coming out is really dangerous, specially for a teacher working with teenagers. Even in Thailand a teacher student relationship is still consider a huge tabu, even if is not illegal, and not only for BL couples, but for everyone, as we saw in "Together With Me" (2017), for example. Now we have just 2 Episodes left. We are about to face a lot of pain in Episode 11 with QIN XIAO's 爷爷 - Yéyé - death. 😭😭 I was hoping for a solution to take care of grandpa, like it was done in "Alone With Me" (2023); but I knew this time the circumstances were really bad. 😔 The timing for grandpa's death couldn't be worst, with QIN XIAO getting ready for the university admission exams and process, and with QI LU having to leave for Russia soon, leaving him completely alone behind. In the Korean BL "Let free the curse of taekwondo" the pressure was so heavy on DOHOI that he ended up completely traumatized, and unable to pass the admission exam no matter how many times he retake it, destroying completely his future, and ending up in jail for the falsification of his master graduation certificate later on as well. QIN XIAO is a young man with strengths and perseverance, but like AQUALUNG (Matthew Hales) said and taught us in his song "Garden Of Love" (2007): "There's only so much that our heart can grow. Then everything else starts to overflow. But you're young and in love: Back then there was no way of knowing." Cheers...!
What makes you think that if Qi Lu had gone away, his father would have done nothing to his lover ?… Qi Lu is not weak, at all; he knows damn well what his father is capable of, yet he depicted his mother in a good light, enrolled in another school than the one his father sent him to, and loves a man… But, confronted to his father psychological problems, he needs to make compromises. Up to now he was accepting to be beaten. It's very likely that he will soon rebel against his father now that there are other victims…

THAT makes him weak. 🤷♂ I don't know what for you "rebelling" means, but I don't see that happening at all. I mean... WHAT exactly could QI LU do to his father? He can not even run away at this point. Now that QI LU's mother went back to America the time frame for his possible liberation seems impossible, and with QIN XIAO going thru his grandfather's funeral the timing altogether couldn't be worst. I really hope that the drug mafia gang plays a role taking down QI LU's father. That is for me an interesting indirect way of dealing with him. But we will see how the writers want to end this story. I will certainly not miss watching the Season's Finale this weekend. Cheers...!

I don't want to contradict you, but modestly bring a different viewpoint. Qi Lu's father is sick. He has no one in his life; like he said, his wife and Qi Lu are his "best works" (I do not speak Chinese, so I can only rely on the translation); he says this while his wife is gone and his son is nowhere near he would like him to be : Qi Lu does not take his side against his mother; he does not like painting; and he loves a man. We can infer from there how poor the father relationships with others may be. Qi Lu's father is sick, but he is his father. He pays for Qi Lu's studies, he offers him the best teachers. He pays for his appartment, the best appartment in the neighborhood. He wants the best for his son; what he believes to be the best, I mean. He does not know how to deal with the fact that his son is not doing the best for himself, so he beats him. Qi Lu is Chinese. As such, he cannot give up on his father. He needs to treat him as well as he can, otherwise he could not respect himself. He has no idea how to help him, though. You are right that there is no explicit compromises between Qi Lu and his father; his father wants him to be something that he does not want to be, and there are no possible compromises here, at this point. But up to now, Qi Lu did not want to give up on his father. Plus, he knows what his father is capable of, and he wants to protect the ones he loves, starting with his mother and his boyfriend. So he says nothing about them; he is willing to be beaten, and he even considers quitting his Qin Xiao, so that his father will leave him alone. The compromises I was talking about could be summed up as : ok, you can treat me like shit, but for one I am a good son who does not give up on his sick father, and for two, you do not touch the ones I love. But his father sent the photos to Qin Xiao's grandpa. Or a mix of these ? Anyway, this move is going to put an end on his father's grip on him. Accepting to be beaten up, accepting to go to Russia, was not enough to protect the ones he loves. He can not do any more than this. Since this is not enough, he has no more reasons to make sacrifices. In my understanding of the story, Qi Lu has never been weak. Yes, he let his father beat him up badly, but this was precisely because he did not want to do what his father wanted him to, and he had the courage to stand against him, despite the beatings. Asking Liu to call the police would have meant to give up on his father, to connfront and humiliate him in a trial, to see him rot in prison; where you see the ultimate weakness, I see the beauty of a man trying his best to not put his father down, despite everything. Qi Lu is courageous, forgiving, loving. How much he deserves to be happy! I see that many people believes the story is going to end badly because of the father, but the father sent the photos, so I am optimistic : we will get a happy ending. If I add to this that QI LU has rejected any help from his teacher LIU MING YANG of denouncing his father to the police, and take him to court for physical abuse, well... that is the highest weakness anyone could show and endure. Whenever QI LU faces his father he loses his entire self identity and becomes a toy to be use at will. THAT is the reality. THAT makes him weak. 🤷♂
I don't know what for you "rebelling" means, but I don't see that happening at all. I mean... WHAT exactly could QI LU do to his father? He can not even run away at this point. Now that QI LU's mother went back to America the time frame for his possible liberation seems impossible, and with QIN XIAO going thru his grandfather's funeral the timing altogether couldn't be worst. I really hope that the drug mafia gang plays a role taking down QI LU's father. That is for me an interesting indirect way of dealing with him. But we will see how the writers want to end this story. I will certainly not miss watching the Season's Finale this weekend.

Qi Lu's father is sick. He has no one in his life; like he said, his wife and Qi Lu are his "best works" (I do not speak Chinese, so I can only rely on the translation); he says this while his wife is gone and his son is nowhere near he would like him to be : Qi Lu does not take his side against his mother; he does not like painting; and he loves a man. We can infer from there how poor the father relationships with others may be.
Qi Lu's father is sick, but he is his father. He pays for Qi Lu's studies, he offers him the best teachers. He pays for his appartment, the best appartment in the neighborhood. He wants the best for his son; what he believes to be the best, I mean. He does not know how to deal with the fact that his son is not doing the best for himself, so he beats him.
Qi Lu is Chinese. As such, he cannot give up on his father. He needs to treat him as well as he can, otherwise he could not respect himself. He has no idea how to help him, though. You are right that there is no explicit compromises between Qi Lu and his father; his father wants him to be something that he does not want to be, and there are no possible compromises here, at this point. But up to now, Qi Lu did not want to give up on his father. Plus, he knows what his father is capable of, and he wants to protect the ones he loves, starting with his mother and his boyfriend. So he says nothing about them; he is willing to be beaten, and he even considers quitting his Qin Xiao, so that his father will leave him alone. The compromises I was talking about could be summed up as : ok, you can treat me like shit, but for one I am a good son who does not give up on his sick father, and for two, you do not touch the ones I love.
But his father sent the photos to Qin Xiao's grandpa. I do not know if this was an act of generosity, to tell Qi Lu : I am a bad person, you have done your best for me, and I am unable to make you happy, you now have an excellent reason to give up on me, so please do. Or was it to get the grandpa's help in separating the two lovers, because by loving a man his son is making a mistake too big to let him go down this path any longer ? Or did he feel that he was going to lose the power he still has on his son, once Qi Lu will have the full support of someone who truly loves him, like he has always been unable to do ? Or a mix of these ?
Anyway, this move is going to put an end on his father's grip on him. Accepting to be beaten up, accepting to go to Russia, was not enough to protect the ones he loves. He can not do any more than this. Since this is not enough, he has no more reasons to make sacrifices.
In my understanding of the story, Qi Lu has never been weak. Yes, he let his father beat him up badly, but this was precisely because he did not want to do what his father wanted him to, and he had the courage to stand against him, despite the beatings. Asking Liu to call the police would have meant to give up on his father, to connfront and humiliate him in a trial, to see him rot in prison; where you see the ultimate weakness, I see the beauty of a man trying his best to not put his father down, despite everything. Qi Lu is courageous, forgiving, loving. How much he deserves to be happy! I see that many people believes the story is going to end badly because of the father, but the father sent the photos, so I am optimistic : we will get a happy ending. And my beloved Qi Lu will have the best of companions in his beloved Qin Xiao.
