    5:10 "Talk about paradise, yeah I think you found it right here in Ofu...Beautiful." These words are nice to hear, and I couldn't say it better myself, and they're nothing but facts man, also I love the music choice, Over the Rainbow is a fan favorite. Thanks for showing what "Paradise" looks like, I just can't wait to visit home again.

    Really enjoyed the drone footage of your video, some great shots. I use to live there, until we moved to NZ in the early 90's.

    Wow, completely impressed by the footage. I've been there once before, but you've definitely showed me parts that I was completely unaware of. Even provided a bit of history. Lived for it!! I'm glad that you enjoyed your experience and was one worth sharing. Thank you for that.

    Very scenic holy cow! How often does the siren system get used and what is the projected lifespan for the speakers in such a salty climate like this?

    • @BasileFilms
      @BasileFilms  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In the ten years that this Samoa tsunami system has been in place it’s only been used twice for actual emergency use. If the system is maintained properly the speaker system should last 20 years. The island of Manua is just very difficult to get equipment to, so accessing the heads is a challenge.

    Actually, you are at Breaker's Point, not Blunt's Point, Breaker's Point is across from Blunt's point at the entrance to Pago Pago Harbor.
    The small island offshore you can in the background is one of the Fatu-ma-Futi islets, and Blunt's point would actually be well off-screen to the right.
    There is a big gun located there at Blunt's Point as well, so the harbor was well protected from Japanese invasion during WWII, although other than a Jap submarine lobbing a shell at Pago and hitting the only store in American Samoa owned by a Japanese at that time (the Shimasaki store), they never even came close to American Samoa.
