Balanced armature only sets sound amazing when properly tuned. bass can still be amazing without a dynamic driver. The etymotic er4xr is one of my favs and it's a single b.a tuned to near perfection
I got these yesterday and I can honestly say you need to have good tips with these. The bass is there the details are there it's just hard to say to how much of what is there you need good eartips for these to get the best sound.
@@radiofreealbemuth I went with the Letshouer s12 pros in the end and really like their natural presentation. Are they the last word in audio, definitely not but I do really enjoy listening to my wide range of music on them and they definitely are a step up from everything else in a similar price range. I am running them with a IFI HipDac 2 and a pair of Hifiman Sundaras as well as a pair of Beyerdynamic DT250 which don’t get used very much any more
Great review. I got my pair a couple of months ago and haven't looked back. IMO they are excellent for Rock and other 'organic' music. I'd be very interested to know how you rate their technicalities compared to some of your other BA's.
Organic. Damn i wish I used that descriptor. Sums it up perfectly. In terms of technicals it where i would expect for a multi BA. Does everything really well, crossovers and transitions are seamless and the tuning is spot on. Others will be more for critical listening like the Etymotic ER4SR but i only use them in very specific situations nowadays. I much prefer the natural tones from the Orchestra. Its not as musical as the skuld mainly due to the overall emphasis on smoothness on that IEM I would say the closest it is in terms of performance is the S8 Pro from fearless due to its tuning. Detail retrieval is very good and there is a really natural air about the sound with nothing sounding forced. Its like the drivers are performing withing their limits instead of being pushed and abused to perform things they arento optimized for. Thats definitely and advantage of having so many drivers, your not pushing something to do too much.
Pretty much exactly what you mentioned. My favourite for some time (of all iem's not just BA) have been my Skuld. S8 pro would be a great choice and Andromeda set a very high bar in many ways. A little cheaper id also say the XR4 by etymotic are very much worth it.
Really like my Truthear Hexa but am tossing up these or the 7hz timeless after experimenting and enjoying the Hifiman Sundaras as well as a pair of DT250. Any thoughts
Sorry Nick, dont know why youtube flagged this comment. The Hexa I havent heard but the Lite are definetely a big departure from the Timeless due to the driver differences. Very different presentation but both are very good and fit in this price point well.
No worries, thanks for your reply. I know you say these are not really for bass heads but how do they fair on something like portishead live or Ronnie size live just out of curiosity or something like the Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers album with Charlie Watts really raw live sounding drums and Keith Richard’s similar sounding guitar. Or something like GoGo Penguin! I hear they do sound staging very well on tracks like Yosi Horikawa’s track Crossing which sounds good on the Hexas I picked up for new for £40. The problem I have is my very varied tastes which are all over the shop 😂 thanks once again! Oh so my questions which no doubt can only be answered by actually buying them
I'm struggling to enjoy these for anything. Don't like to be negative but stunning aesthetics & build aside, I'm just not enjoying them at all... they sound very dull. I never bought into the whole cable thing so didn't pay attwbr... but when you're talking about cables thst make a huge difference? Hmm. Maybe I should try. The best cable I have is the one that came with my Mest MKII... worth a Pop?
What cable did you mean sorry? I can't find it linked in the description.
Nice video btw, about to grab a pair.
Same:(
Another excellent review. Kiwi Ears really seems to have there act together with BAs these days. I’m going to have to check this set out. Thank you 🙏.

I have handled so many different iem’s…. These have the best build quality and feel I’ve ever witnessed
Seriously the most beautiful I’ve ever owned
I can’t seem to find the cable you said you linked in the description
Lovely set. I've got the original orchestras, any thoughts on the kiwi quintets yet?
Quintet review on Saturday. Again very nice, Kiwi ears coming with great releases at very good prices.
I am struggling to decide between these and the yanyin canon 2 as my next step from my Letshuoer s12 pros
What'd you decide on? And how are you liking it?

No waifu sadly, any chance for you to review the kiwi ears quintet?
Would be nice if you could compare the lite with quintet.
Ask and you shall recieve, the quintent review will be uploaded this weekend.... maybe tomorrow.
@@AudioLevels nice!
What cable do you recommend for these?

@@AudioLevels Wow. Thanks for the detailed response! I forgot about your love for the Skuld. Keep up the great reviews, it's much appreciated.
Do they provide good sound cancellation?
I’m curious, what is your “no budget” all BA choice? I know you love the Skuld, but what others would you consider? Like the Andromeda and the S8.
