If you want a La Sallian's opinon, I'd give you mine. Go to the school where you think that the skills you learn are worth more compared to the tuition you paid and the time you spent. In considering collegiate education, I also considered distance from home and potential to gain the connections I need to succeed in my career, but that's just me.
This video is so funny and truly dedicated to the whole Lasallian community, don't take this seriously because it is just the way how Lasallians express their feelings as true green-blooded students.Very creative!I almost agree to the things included in the video about La Salle and their great products..Their students, good job!Hail to De La Salle....
The song "I'd Rather Be Green Than Be Blue" was composed by Juan Miguel Salvador and first performed live in 2000 by the composer himself and Ogie Alcasid at the (then) Ultra (now Philippine Sports Multi-Purpose Arena) and re-recorded in 2005.
It's funny, provoking and over confident. Let's admit it, it is a different line of thought. Fun to listen and easy to sing. It's out of the box. Have a great day!
The timing of the calls, though has clearly affected the outcome of the game. Rabeh and Tiu were benched early, allowing others to get going, while Maierhofer and Casio were removed from the game in the more important half, it clearly took a lot out of our arsenal. If you notice, Al Hussaini and Tiu weren't in foul trouble simultaneously.
Take this one for example. It does not mention who those "iba" are. But the line was a perversion of lyrics that relate to another. The perversion occurs in the word "kawawa" implicating that the one to whom the message sent was poor.
At least this comment was a breakthrough in one way, it proved that Ateneans [as far as I know] don't always agree with each other when up against a La Sallian.
This is nice work by a La Sallian fanatical team, but it borders on being tacky (self-declaring one's wealth without recognizing that many, many Ateneans are much richer than they), shallow (wanting to be entertainment celebrities and bold stars rather than to study hard), and outright disrespectful (bashing on a world-renowned reformist and national hero Jose Rizal). I hope that this is not what the Christian brothers, who promote education for the poor, are teaching to LSGH and other La Salle schools' students.
+Rudy Narciso False. Even your MVP works for Salim who is from LSGH. Do your research before your sprout off. I have Ateneans working for me and you don't want me to take it on them because of your comment.
The best part of this commentary is that Ateneans rule it. If I say something that they don't like, I'll probably get a reply straight away. I used to argue here a few months ago, against 6 or 8 Ateneans. Then I stopped after seeing how pointless it was to argue [with a closed mindset that MY school couldn't be wrong] to people [with equally closed minds] the same things over and over again. Still nice to hear the song again though, I think it's really good, no matter what they say...
In the end, all that matters are the "products". Get what I mean? Learn to respect the individuality and uniqueness of each one. We are all special... in different aspects. What we are, what we've become, and whatever we impart may it be for the better or the worse... not only proves our worth.. but incomprehensibly justifies it entirely. beyond words...
Ladies and gentlemen, aticjones, with his song "DLSU is insecure because its students compare it to ADMU, but for some reason, him saying that does not make him insecure over the students of DLSU, despite the fact that he can't bring himself to admit that DLSU is a good school and never leaves a comment that does not insult at least one La Sallian".

@MsKarenvi As far as i can remember, CSB created this way back. I'm not just sure if it's for project or something else. Most Lasallians in Taft have a lot of respect to Ateneans. It's just sad that some people are just crossing the line and are just too proud to have a La Salle name in their school. It's good to hear that you don't take this video seriously. kudos! hehe
What? That is blasphemy! Surely Rizal was shot because he raped his aunt's husband's cousin's granddaughter or something! Who would have guessed that he actually died for our country? Certainly not I! >_> Apparently, Ateneans are really good with handling jokes...
This video is intended for a La Sallian audience. If anyone feels insulted, it's their fault they even went here. I know anyone can access this video. However the title clearly says that "I'd Rather be Green" and such should be enough for those who would be otherwise to move away. There are people, however, who are really war-freaks and go out of their way and go to their rivals' videos just to unload their insults and profanities.
If you go by that logic, a thief cannot say that another person is stealing, nor can a murderer say that another person is killing, simply because they commit the wrongs themselves, which is obviously not the case. People, of course, can say that other people commit crimes regardless of whether they, themselves, commit the sins or not.
Ever the gracious Atenean remark. When was your previous championship? 2002. Count the seasons from 2002-2008 inclusive. That was actually the densest span of victories I could put for you, a compliment. You never seem to stop waking up from the delusion that DLSU has any insecurities over any rival school. While you might call them insecurities, I might say your act of calling me a gay moron is an insecurity itself.
Even if you manage to pull it off this year [which I don't doubt], The number of seasons per championship would still be high for your school, indicating that you tend to be inconsistent in winning titles.
I wouldn't say that outright. Perhaps a better statement would be, "Ateneans are more attracted to positions of power and easy wealth than their La Sallian counterparts."
Nakatuwa na sana pero dinamay pa si Rizal. At parang nakaiinsulto na ito sa aming mga Atenista. Sana naman hindi insensitive ang mga lasallista dahil balak ko pa naman mag-aral doon sa college.

I know, that's why I asked if he yelled at the Spanish government. Anyway, the sword [more correctly, the knife and later the rifle] was the one that made the Spanish flee, not Rizal's book [maybe the Katipuneros could have thrown them at the guardia civils].
i'm from La Salle. i'm proud of my school. but this isn't a song i would be proud of. i have cousins in Ateneo and i respect them. i hope this won't tarnish your view of our schools
LS Trivia: Did you know that...Our Pre-war Irish American Christian Brothers of De La Salle College, Taft would often wittingly brag that a Green Archer was born to have A FEATHER ON HIS CAP.
Bolero pala ang mga La Sallista ah... Ede Atenista na kami. =)) Seriously... Both La Salle and Ateneo made our countries proud. Ako Spongecola gusto kong band sa Pilipinas. Wala din akong masyadong kilalang mga "great people" na graduate ng La Salle. At saka let's face it. Si Rizal na ang bayani natin. Magaling din naman ang APO sa OPM eh. We'd rather be blue than green kung ganiyan din naman ang "sense of rivalry" sa mga La Sallista.
You must be looking at the nursing, medicine, law or the other exams, the appropriate course of which is not currently offered in DLSU. Try the past 10 years' worth of CPA [Certified Public Accountant] board exams. [The May exam is the DLSU season.]
By the way, what I meant by foul words were the utterances of street people, the infamous 4-letter words if you get what I mean. Obviously, I did not consider "moron" in the same category as those. Yet again, I apologize that I made such hypocrisy and will try not to call any more strangers "moron" [unless they exhibit such characteristics that almost make moron sound like a compliment].
Its a song regarding the rivalry between two Catholic universities in the Philippines. Green is the school color of De La Salle University. Blue is the school color of the Jesuit school the Ateneo de Manila University. Personally I'm glad to be blue and not green :D
I read something somewhere that should supposedly say, "La Salle got outplayed." Instead, [whether deliberately or not] it showed, "La Salle got OUTPAYED [outpaid, perhaps implicating game-fixing]."
Three thumbs up to your comment. Not only did you fail to consider that "lasalistas" also comprise of female students, but you succeeded in sounding like a complete street person.
eh one year (2006) na tsamba lang naman lumamang yung lasalle sa THES-QS world university rankings eh. Masyado sila na tuwa. For year 2007 (latest ranking), Its UP 398, ADMU 451, DLSU 519, UST 535. For 2007, Ateneo lang ang umakyat sa rankings. Actually paakyat ng paakyat ang pace ng Ateneo for the past 5 years. ATENEO RULES! I can't wait for 2008 rankings to come out. haha
That particualr message was for those who seem to think pressing the "thumb-down" on my comments for that reason. No one feels good about being cheated.
But don't get me wrong, I don't deny that ADMU is a good school, it's just that some factors [not necessarly academically related] led me to choose DLSU over ADMU.
aticjones is right on one point. La Sallians did post the video, but that's just about his only right comment. It was these Ateneans who took the time to knowingly view a La Salle video. Considering the programming of their minds, anything La Sallian is insulting, so by that definition, La Sallians did "start the fight". Let them wallow in their proud ignorance and faulty reasoning. We know who they were who left foul comments on a video intended only for La Sallian Eyes.
Well there has to be a reason as to why that is. You can't just say neither is the case. If you choose to "evaluate" only La Sallian comments, it's a clear indication that you're not impartial. The other case, if you're being impartial, yet you choose not to evaluate their comments, that must mean that they're not capable of handling such evaluation. It's one or the other.
Not all DLSU students are ACET failers, you know, but Hanchie is right. Even if many DLSU students did fail the ACET, they somehow come up at par with the ACET passers after graduation. Hmm... do you think it has something to do with the level of education they get in DLSU?
Well, what do you expect them to put in song? Our licensure exam topnotchers? Our solar car [which wasn't around at the time of the composition]? That doesn't exactly add appeal to the song.
Yes. That does not necessarily mean that a law school to be established by DLSU won't be any good won't it? By the way, how good is your College of Accountancy?
This video was not intended for Atenean eyes in the first place. If you viewed it on your own accord and felt insulted, it is no longer the fault of the maker.
By the way, many of them claim that this video is insulting, which is their justification for leaving insulting comments themselves. One said that Rizal being shot for being Atenean is insulting. Well, he WAS shot, so we're not wishing harm upon them. More importantly, I think a national hero martyred for being Atenean is more of a compliment to that school than an insult because that would mean that it stood for freedom, don't you think so?
Dyan naman kayo magaling, paglalahat sa aming mga Lasalyano sa kasalanan ng ilan. Why, do you think I'm that good to remember all of my sins? I can barely remember what I ate for lunch yesterday.
I think a video made by a sample would be a very poor basis for the values of the population. Even if I were wrong here [that means the values of a population can be determined from samples], the values of ADMU, considering some of its products including presidents Arroyo and Estrada, not to mention those referees during the UAAP final game. I think I've said enough.
If we remember our history though, we may recall that Rizal was against open revolt against the Spanish [mostly because we were outgunned and outmatched]. So I think the fact that he opened the eyes of the Filipinos was an accident, that he never meant to do such. Besides, he would have other experiences to make him write the novels even if he never went to Ateneo. "Poor guy" was a joke, obviously, but he did have limited options.
Do you remember what happened the ref who made a disputable call that favored us against FEU back in the 1st round, that he was sanctioned? I don't see any action done on the game 2 refs, despite the number of clear inconsistencies and doubtful calls. Just goes to show how the UAAP really wants to bring down DLSU, how sportmanlike of them.
You're right about one thing, though, I shouldn't have announced that I never called anyone but myself on this video commentary a moron. But I never will again [unless a person were to exhibit such characteristics that would almost make "moron" sound like a compliment].
And anyway, I didn't say he did nothing great [being able to go to Spain was "great" at that time]. I just asked how he fought for our freedom. In case you don't know, his original intention in writing the novels was not to inspire Indios to wage war on Spain. In fact, he was against open rebellion.
The key word was at times. Those times happenes to be the boring parts of games in order for people like you to justify the ridiculous calls and no calls, whereas the calls that favored the opponents were at the most crucial parts.
That I agree with, as stated in the second paragraph. However, what I thought unfair was the way the refs keep whistling on our press when they didn't the rest of the season.
hahaha. Lycean ako pero naaliw aq d2, though ina-under estimate nla Ateneo.. pra sken, dpnde un lgi s student. wla un s skul. oo, skul ang nagmo-mold s intelligence at future ng students. pero kung d maga-aus, kht bngay n lhat, wla mangyayari. :) nice vid though!
Blue seas don't necessarily mean clean waters. If you've seen real seas, you'll notice that they're in a shade of green. Not always blue And yeah, green pants are "baduy" hahaha... So much for La Sallians being the ones caring about "porma" [appearance].
i keep listening to this song while waiting for the result of my appeal for the scholarship, now i'm officially a lasalian 💚

I was thinking this is a new version sung by kundirana because of the music video. It's still Juan Miguel Salvador. Still awesome! 👏🏻 AN1MO LASALLE!
The verse could simply be saying that Ateneans are exessively talkative, not nearly as insulting as, "gay", "blind", or "deaf".

DLSU is about to have a College of Law. Can't wait for the first batch.
ctg0526 did not bother to take the ACET because he recognized that the cost of studying there will exceed the benefit.
Has a nice ring to it, gling.
Also, you seem to not disagree that the 2nd technical on Maierhofer was ridiculous.
green waters are shallow (or shallower) parts, if you also notice...
Let them celebrate this [controversial, to say the least] win. After all, they have a success rate of 10% while ours is around 50%.
Fortunately for lyspia, morals don't only consist of not "insulting" your UAAP rival.
Nobody's taking it too personally.
Blue seas don't necessarily mean clean waters. If you've seen real seas, you'll notice that they're in a shade of green. Not always blue
And yeah, green pants are "baduy" hahaha...
So much for La Sallians being the ones caring about "porma" [appearance].
