  • The wheat fields are the furthest fields from home in an attempt to get them done before the weather changes for the worst we’ve brought out the 560 Lexion and the 485 Lexion to try and get 160 acres done in a couple of days. Heavy dews in the morning and early dew in the evening made for short combining days it still took 3 days to get it done with both machines. Wheat needed to be dry since we’re hauling off the field directly to the grain elevator.

Probably the heaviest wheat I've seen. Over 100 bpa? Also, why do you swath rather than direct cut?

We’re very grateful that we had a good crop after 2 years of being hailed out before harvest but no it did not make 100 bpa still it was very good. We swath mainly to dry down the grain and any green undergrowth, with this field we probably could have tried direct cut since it was clean and fairly evenly mature, we don’t desiccate our crops. We have had problems in the past if the wheat stands too long to mature that the heads will start breaking off, we’re quite pleased with this new variety we tried since it stood up nicely!

Hello I enjoyed watching your video alot. That is a very nice Crop of Wheat that you had there. Very nice thick Swaths of Wheat. Those are 2 very nice Sp Combines that you were using to harvest your Wheat. I like your Grain Cart that you were using to harvest your Wheat. How many buslhes of Grain does it hold your Grain Cart if I may ask you. We don't have a Grain Cart on our family farm for harvest time. We have 2 tandem Grain trucks. We have a New Nolland Sp Combine CR 9080 and a Sp Johndeere 9770 and a Sp Johndeere 7720 titan 2. We don't use the Sp Johndeere titan 2 Combine anymore. How many tractors do you have on your farm and what kind are they if I may ask you. On our family farm we have a 4 wheel drive Ford Newholland 9682. It is 360 horsepower and we have a Massey Ferguson front wheel assist with duals on the back. It is a 8140 . It is 140 horsepower and then we have a Johndeere 2 wheel drive tractor with single tires on the back. It is a 4630 it is 150 horsepower with a 158 Johndeere front end loader on it and a grabber fork on the bucket. My youngest brother owns those 3 tractors. I own 2 tractors. I have a Case international Mangum 2 wheel drive tractor with single tires on the back. It is a 7110 it is 130 horsepower and I have a Kubota front wheel assist tractor with a front end loader on it and a grabber fork on the bucket. It has single tires on the back. It is 135 horsepower. I like my Kubota tractor alot. There are a good tractor. I am looking around for my own 4 wheel drive tractor to pull my Bourgault Heavy Harrow. I just haven't found one yet. Those are the different tractors that we have on our family farm.

We have just about every brand, size and age of tractor on our farm🙂. We have Kubota, John Deere, Versatile and Case. The Versatile is our big horsepower tractor at 375hp that does the seeding and most of the tillage. We also have several old tandem trucks that we will use close to home and during seeding.
