Na they way he do black ncaa players who going in the draft is sad he worse then racist nfl dudes.....and FYI panthers never got far with him so Steve need to chill
@@mehal5529 lol, as a black man he goes out there and says cooper kupp is a better receiver than any other draftee at that combine (because he was) and you call him a racist to other black men? You’re wild. The complete opposite of racism, in fact it’s equality at work. What you want is preferential treatment for people based on the color of their skin, not their talent, which is racism itself. Shame
Champ has been my favorite player since I was a kid. He doesn't get talked about nearly enough for how incredible he was. I love hearing these stories from Steve.
He was f'n NASTY at UGA on offense and defense. Nasty as an NFL corner and THEN did his thang at safety. Seemed humble as hell too... And that last part is why he doesn't get talked about as much as he should. He's gotta be on the DB Mt Rushmore (college and/or NFL... his face HAS to be on at least one of them!) *i mean he also played in the Charles Woodson era, so that's another reason. I Love them both. When I "studied" them as a teen using only TV copies I could find (pre-youtube) they might as well of been the same person! Cornerback gods
Steve Smith was my favorite receiver of that era. Loved his competitiveness and attitude on the field. Combine that with his physical abilities and you have a game changer. He did just that quite a few times. Carolina doesn't make that 1st super bowl without him
Skins fan, I remember this game. It was Stephen Davis’s first game against us since he left DC for the Panthers. That final touchdown hurt twice as hard.
I love that I grew up in an era of football where I could watch Steve Smith take on Champ Bailey. The NFL has always been must see TV but from 2000-2010 was a special time.
There isn’t to many other wide receiver that I respect as much as I do Steve Smith. When I was a kid I would see Joe Montana and Joe Namath as old guys that reminded me of my grandfather, and as much love as I have for my grandfather, I didn’t think that he had an athletic bone in his body. I shared that sentiment with Namath and Montana, I struggle to believe all the great stories that people had about them. Now many years later, I struggle explaining to my son how special Steve Smith was, and he sees Steve like I would see Namath and Montana…. And it finally hit me that my son sees me as I once saw my grandfather! It’s a reality check that life gives us all!
NOT GON LIE......I UNDERESTIMATED STEVE SMITH HIS ENTIRE CAREER JUST LIKE HINES WARD....BOTH PROVED THAT HEIGHT ISN'T ALWAYS THE DECIDING FACTOR IN REGARDS TO ELITE WIDE OUTS.😎
I always think of Steve Smith as the best inside-the-hashmarks Wide Receiver of my generation. He showed no fear catching in midfield. He would jump up to get the ball, take a huge hit coming down with it, making sure to hold on then would get up and talk smack. The guy was tough as nails and earned every yard he made the hard way.
Champ had it all, speed, size, strength, athletism in general. He was one of the guys who could stand in front of the offenses #1 reciever, flat footed, no safety help, pressed up and still clamp. Also he was a tackling machine. Sad to never see him win a SB. The loss to the Seahawks should been the end of it for him. Also, to think they had Champ, Darrell Green, Deion Sanders, and Bruce Smith on the same roster is crazy. Imagine if all were in their prime 🤯
Damn, when he said Stephen Davis, that just reminded me how long ago he started playing. And Davis started out with the Redskins first before going to Carolina. Damn time really does fly. Man, I'm old.
The Heart of Steve Smith is how id build the perfect player look at that catch. What guy that size does that now… ill give ya time to think about it….. nobody.. he played the game angrily I fuxxin love that brings a tear to my seeing that fight again.. kids now a days have a lack of want too.
Bring a bears fan, you can understand why I hated this dude. Now I miss watch one of the best ever. Steve you were a beast. Tough/ confident, great player. Great career brother. Love you videos. Back when a receiver was tough. football back then separated the men from the boys. Catching the ball over the middle was not like it is now. Mad respect old school✌🏼
In this era two of the smallest dudes in the NFL were also some of the toughest. Steve Smith and Darren Sproles. They prove to everyone you can not only play in the NFL being those heights but you can be amongst the best
Champ Bailey was so good I would always try and get him first round in Madden fantasy drafts every year when everyone wants to go offense first.. good memories, pair him with Ed Reed and Sean Taylor behind him
Can we get this man on a network with his own show?
Na they way he do black ncaa players who going in the draft is sad he worse then racist nfl dudes.....and FYI panthers never got far with him so Steve need to chill

for Steve to admit somebody had him locked up, oh he had to be locked up because he's a dog.
Only Steve Smith can talk trash about himself that outdoes anyone else's.
Steve Smith was actually one of my favorite receivers of all time
💯
Beast. And did it the right way. He was a pleasure to watch
The hits WRs used to take going across the middle. Goddamn
Ahhhh the good Ol days
The hits *anyone used to take going across the middle*
Didn’t matter if you were a O-Line playing TE, you were going to get crunched in the middle.
Flagged nowadays smh it's football!!
Was that Sean Taylor he laid that hit?
Man they used to take kill shots
Ricky proehl what a player. Haven’t heard about dude in a minute
He was working at unc as a receivers coach when his sons were there but I think he is working elsewhere now
Guy came to work with his hard and lunch pale every day.
That Mf was a dog Frfr
At one time I believe he was the receivers coach or scout not too long ago
Took the Greatest Show to their first Superbowl when he beat the Tampa Two in the NFC championship game.
Steve better make the hall of fame dude was a beast all around
Of course he is. Dude was leave mvp and a monster year in and out
He's first ballot.
If Steve Smith makes the HOF I'ma stop watching football...he was alright with the panthers..but what did he do after that...I'm waiting.....
@@mingojulius what he do after that?? Well, he played for Panthers for like 12 years then went to Ravens for 2. Is 13-14 years good enough for you?

I loved what Steve said about Aquib Talib after the Monday night game. “ICE UP!”

Steve was one of the coldest receivers in his era. Probably the fastest, but the dude was tuff! Much respect!
Man Stephen Davis is not a name I've heard in a minute
Steven Davis was Michael Westbrook's punching bag in Washington 🤣🤣🤣
I do remember that video...went to Jr High with Stephen. Lol
I remember that fight also

My all time favorite receiver! He walked it like he talked it.
You won't find a more real and honest person about himself than Smitty!! I think that makes him that much more likeable.
I miss him he played bigger than his size my favorite wr of all time
One of the best DBs of all time. Unbelievable speed and covering ability, a corner that can actually tackle. Definition of complete
Very funny
Champ Bailey was that dawg
Steve Smith is great story teller.. Super entertaining!
