Because NCT-127 is an SM Entertainment group, their Killing Voice Performance is expertly designed to showcase their outstanding vocals. What you are hearing is standard SM. This performance is showcasing some of the best parts of their songs that highlight their vocal abilities. They have a lot of songs, so you are only hearing a small fraction of them and only a few lines of each of the songs (And in some cases, they are singing parts from the middle of the song, so it may sound different when you listen to the actual song.) Also, several of these songs are B-side tracks that don't have MVs, so you'll have to check out live performances instead. It shouldn't be a surprise that NCT is full of amazing singers. As you are starting to discover, SM is known for having some of the best singers in the industry. You can't be an SM artist without having unbelievable vocal abilities. Even the company's rappers focus on vocal training. All of SM's artists and groups are known for being top tier when it comes to live vocals and perfect harmonies. And, switching up the beat and style of the song in the middle of the song is pretty much how the majority of NCT songs are structured, as well as SM's songs in general. It's kind of SM's signature style. You will hear that same thing happen in a lot of the songs you listen to from SM. In this performance there are 9 members -- from left to right: *Johnny (lead vocalist and sub-rapper), Yuta (lead vocalist), pink hair Haechan (main vocalist and also a member of NCT-Dream), *Taeyong (leader of all of NCT, main rapper and dancer, who is also part of SuperM), Jungwoo (main vocalist and member of sub-unit DoJaeJung), Taeil (main vocalist, who is no longer a member of NCT), Doyoung (main vocalist and member of sub-unit DoJaeJung), *Mark (main rapper and dancer, who is the leader of NCT-Dream and a member of SuperM) and *Jaehyun (main vocalist, sub-rapper and member of sub-unit DoJaeJung). NCT has 25 members, so every sub-unit will have more than one main vocalist and more than one rapper. Plus, Kpop groups very rarely have only one main anything, especially when you are talking about the main vocalist in an SM group. SM is known for being a vocal powerhouse, so pretty much all their artists will be able to step in as a main vocalist when needed. NCT -- which stands for Neo (a pop culture term that means new/original) Culture Technology -- right now as a whole has 5 (6) sub-units -- NCT-U, NCT-127, NCT-Dream, WayV, (DoJaeJung) and NCT-WISH. Therefore, their style is meant to be new and original with elements that embrace different cultures and technologies to create their sound. What you just heard is considered NCT-style, they don't really have a traditional music style that you can attach to them. NCT-127 is NCT's second sub-unit, which debuted in July 2016. NCT-127 currently has 8 or 9 members. This group is more of a fixed unit, so the member lineup stays the same most of the time. The 127 in this unit's name stands for the longitude coordinates of Seoul, South Korea, on a map of the world, which means it's 127's job to represent Seoul -- the birthplace of Kpop -- around the world.
That's why some of NCT-127's songs are part of NCT-127 mini albums and other songs are part of full albums that include songs from all of NCT's sub-units. Hence, why some of the album descriptions mention NCT-127 and others just say NCT. "Fire Truck" was NCT-127's debut song, and at that time there were only 7 members of NCT who were in the "Fire Truck" MV -- Taeyong, Mark, Jaehyun, Taeil, Yuta, Winwin and Haechan. However, now that NCT has 8/9 members they also include Johnny and Jungwoo in the song whenever they perform it. Fun fact: "Limitless" came out in January 2017 and its Johnny's official debut in NCT and Doyoung's debut as a member of NCT-127 (Doyoung first debuted as one of the very first members of NCT in NCT-U's debut song "The 7th Sense", but he was not part of NCT-127's debut). Although "Touch" is considered a B-side song, there is an MV you need to check out. This song is super cute. The part at the beginning where Mark said, "ummm ...", that was actually part of the song. If you listen to the full song, you will hear him do the same thing in the MV. "Touch" came out the year that 127 and Dream traded concepts. "Touch" is very cute, sweet and soft, which is what we were more accustomed to with NCT-Dream. And, around that time Dream came out with a song called "Go" that was much more hype and hardcore, which is what NCT-127 is more known for. What you heard was the Korean version of "Highway to Heaven," but if you watch the MV for the song, you will see they also have an all-English version. ("Highway to Heaven" was released during their North American leg of their concert tour in 2019.) They have an all-English version of some of their songs because NCT-127 promotes a lot in the U.S. "Lemonade" is a B-side song so it only has a short track video MV to go with it. However, if you want to hear the whole song, you have to watch NCT-127's "Lemonade" dance practice video. Like most of their B-side songs, "Back 2 U" is a song that they perform in concert, so you should check out a live performance if you want to hear the whole song. "Faster" was just an (INST) instrumental version of the song, which means it's just the music and they don't sing. "Faster (INST)" was the intro to "2 Baddies," so Johnny was supposed to be introducing "2 Baddies" at that moment while "Faster" was playing. "2 Baddies" was their most recent comeback song at the time and the whole reason why they were on Dingo's Killing Voice was to promote "2 Baddies," which is why you heard that whole song. "Designer" was also a song on their 2 Baddies album. NCT is one of the most internationally diverse groups in all of Kpop. The members as a whole represent 8 different countries and they speak 7 or 8 different languages. For example, there are 10 native Korean members (*Taeyong, Doyoung, -Taeil- , Haechan, *Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Jungwoo, and new members Sion and Daeyoung), *Mark is Korean-Canadian, *Johnny is Korean-American (from Chicago), 5 Japanese members (Yuta and new members Riku, Yushi, Ryo and Sakuya), *Ten is Thai, *YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle). However, they all live and work in Korea, so everyone speaks Korean fluently. Plus, many members have attended international schools or lived abroad, so there are several members who are also *fluent in English, on top of speaking 2 or more other languages. NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the group or song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL NCT is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's original goal was to eventually have NCT sub-units representing every major city in every country in the world. For example, that's why WayV is their Mandarin/international sub-unit that promotes in China and NCT-WISH is their Japanese sub-unit that promotes in Japan. It has always been SM's plan to have world domination. And to that point, right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with all English versions of song like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, as well as U.S. concert tours and promotional tours with the American media, etc. So, this year was NCT's 8th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group. And many of the members of NCT actually became recognized by fans even before debut because they were part of SM's pre-debut group project called SMRookies (or the new members who were part of a reality survival show called LASTART), so SM did activities with several of the members before they debuted.
With b-sides, it can be just about the song. For the main title track, they typically choose something that can make a great performance (paired with dance choreography). That’s why I think for just listening, my favourite songs are often the b-sides.
mark(the rapper you liked) and haechan (pink hair guy with unique voice) both are in nct dream too, in dream killing voice you can hear their singing more, mark sings too(he actually has very pretty vocal tone) and dream’s sound is very different than 127 and yes, pink hair is one of the main vocalists, during debut days he wasn’t main, he didn’t even had any lines in 127 for 2,3 years😭company just said he’s maknae and that’s it💀which was annoying, cuz guy debuted in two groups at the age of 16, he was definitely more than just maknae, kpop fans and koreans call haechan main dancer among main vocalists, bcs he’s also incredible dancer and has ballet, jazz, sport dance background
If it helps, from left to right: Johnny (tall, white top, black jacket), Yuta, Haechan, Taeyong (leader of the group), Jungwoo, Taeil (you've already been told about him), Doyoung (a crazy vocalist, leather jacket), Mark (amazing rapper, also in a lot of other NCT sub units) and Jaehyun (all black, another crazy vocalist, more rnb style voice). They are all amazing dancers as well. Taeyong and Jaehyun are currently in the military. Yuta, Johnny and Mark will not have to go as they are Japanese, American and Canadian respectively. Haechan and Mark are also in NCT Dream, they also have a separate killing voice. NCT orginated in the same management company is EXO, SM Entertainment. EXO are their seniors. Aespa and Red Velvet are also in the same company. SM has lots of other artists too and is one of the biggest, longest lasting, at the forefront companies.
The rapper you liked was Mark! He's in most units and is, overall, an all-rounder. I usually gravitate towards vocalists, too, but among many, Mark is on the list of my favorite ones. He sounds so natural, and his flow is insane. The one with the collared white shirt, hitting the high notes is Taeil. Another comment mentioned this already, but he was charged with r*ping a drunk woman and deported from the group very quickly. I haven't listened to NCT properly since like 2022, so hearing their songs again brought me nostalgia.
22:45 about main vocalists NCT 127 used to have 4, the three you mentioned in this part and the last guy to the right with the deeper voice, his name's Jaehyun. Taeil (shorter guy with the beige top, 4th guy from the right) is no longer a member, he's currently facing a police investigation, so they currently have 3 main vocals. Yuta (blonde guy) and Jungwoo (taller guy with the beige top, next to Taeil) are the lead vocalists. Main rappers are Taeyong (white hair) and Mark (you liked him a lot, second from the right). Lead rappers are Johnny (first from the left) and think Jaehyun is also a lead rapper? I'm not sure tho, but dude is versatile. So to sum it up from left to right it's Johnny (lead rapper), Yuta (lead vocalist), Haechan (main vocalist), Taeyong (main rapper + leader), Jungwoo (lead vocalist), Taeil (former member, main vocal), Doyoung (Main Vocal), Mark (main rapper) and Jaehyun (main vocal + lead rapper?)
Welcome to NCT! 😊 💚 I really did not think you'd get to them this quickly! 🤗🤗🤗 NCT is an ever-evolving group... there have been soooo many changes over the years and I'm sure there are many more are to come, but to give you a tiny snapshot of where they're at currently... here is the most basic, simplistic way to explain NCT; *NCT (Neo Culture Technology)* is a group unlike any other... they are under the SM Entertainment label and debuted in January of 2016. They were intended to be a "limitless" group, where more members/units would be added over the years to represent different cities/countries all around the world. However, the company announced at the end of 2023 that the long awaited Japanese unit would be the last new fixed-member unit to be added, because they had decided to end the limitless expansion concept. Currently, there are 25 members who are typically split into 4 *FIXED* member units *(NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV & NCT Wish),* where the member lineups normally do not change (now)... and 1 *NON-FIXED* unit *(NCT U),* where any number and or combination of the overall members can be on a track, just depending on who fits that particular concept best... think of this as the *mix-n-match* unit. Could be 2 members on one track and 9 on the next 🤷♀️, we never know until it drops. The U stands for United. However, we normally only see this unit during special all-member album eras, of which there have been just 4 of in the more than 8 years they've been active. Some recommends to get started; *NCT U* - The 7th Sense (groups debut) *NCT U* - Baggy Jeans (same member line up as T7S, but 7 yrs later) *NCT 127* - Kick It *NCT Dream* - ISTJ *WayV* - On My Youth *NCT Wish* - Songbird (JP ver) *NCT DJJ* - Perfume Although one-off solo projects are nothing new to them, NCT has also begun releasing official/promoted solo albums. Each of these is a good representation of the members own particular style/taste, which are VERY different from one another. 😄 Here is a sampling of some solos; *Taeyong* - Shalala *Ten* - Nightwalker *Mark* - Golden Hour *Jaehyun* - Smoke *Yuta* - Off The Mask *Doyoung* - Little Light Hope you give them a chance! They truly are 25 of the most talented, chaotically funny and adorable weirdos one could ever hope for! 💚💚💚 (Side notes... WayV is a Chinese unit and Wish is a Japanese unit. Meaning, while they live/train in Seoul, they mainly promote in their respective markets... though of late SM has been promoting them both regularly in Korea as well. In regards to WayV... due to political tensions between SK and China, and their general anti-Hallyu stance, the Chinese government required SM to create at least the appearance of separation between the unit and the NCT brand... the biggest concession was having to drop the NCT moniker. Had they been allowed to, they would have been called NCT Vision... but as it stands, WayV is an acronym for We Are Your Vision. They are still every bit a part of NCT though. With Wish... SM decided to host their very first survival show in order to select its members. The current direction of the group is to target a younger demographic, much like Dream initially did. And lastly, DJJ or DoJaeJung... is a fixed sub-unit of 127, featuring three of it's members - Doyoung, Jaehyun & Jungwoo. They're niche so far is pure R&B.) Side quest... SM has a sort of all-star team made up of some of the labels most popular male artists, called *SuperM.* They consist of; Baekhyun & Kai of *EXO,* Taeyong & Mark of *127/Dream,* Ten of *WayV,* Lucas (formerly of WayV, now a soloist) and Taemin of *SHINee.* A good place to start with them is their debut mv, called Jopping. If you read thru this whole comment... you are a gentleman and a scholar, and I salute your commitment, sir!!! 🫡🤌🙌👏🤲🤝🙏🤟
I'm sorry to comment again but I forgot something. The 3rth one(pink hair) and the 8th one(rapper) are also in NCT Dream and the 5th, 7th and last one have a subunit called "DoJaeJung" its a mix of their names. Their music style its more r&b.
@@teanis7706 omg i'm soo sorry. English is not my first language and in my language is spelled "rapero" so it was like an instinct. Now I feel super bad.
Just so you know, the member hitting most of the high notes is Taeil (4th from the right in the beige shirt and black pants). He is no longer in the group due to a conviction of r*ping a drunk woman with two of his friends (yes, he was guilty, idk if he's in jail yet tho), and he was kicked from the group in August of this year. That's why you'll see him in many of their mvs and content. NCT 127 is now 8 members (6 currently because 2 members are in the military) and NCT as a whole is now 25
let's make it clear pls: taeil is NOT officially convicted yet thus he still might be innocent (which i hardly believe for various reasons, but anything could happen:c ). don't forget about the presumtion of innocence and don't spread your thoughts like this until there's an official statement, cuz you can harm other people beside the guilty ones with your rushed words. i hope you don't take it negatively tho, it's just something my lawyer aunt always taught me🙏
Why are you spreading misinformation?? He is out of the group because of sexual crimes which have not been stated yet.. ( we are not defending him ..but his case hasn't been heard yet nor has he been convicted or even arrested. ) He is under investigation.
Mark is the rapper he is from Canada this men is so funny and fun fact is He debuted 5 times, nct is in the same company whit exo and red velvet that’s why the vocal line is really good
Subscribed! Hoping for more nct 127 reactions 🥹 they songs more on experimental, rap, and rnb And you should react to Nct dream killing voice also (the pink hair and the 2nd one on the right)
this is my first time listening to the killing voice since everything with Taeil, i wasn't expecting to get emotional. Cause i love their killing voice but it just hit be like a truck everything thats been happening in kpop this year.

NCT has 25 members, so every sub-unit will have more than one main vocalist and more than one rapper.

"Faster" was just an (INST) instrumental version of the song, which means it's just the music and they don't sing. NCT is an ever-evolving group... there have been soooo many changes over the years and I'm sure there are many more are to come, but to give you a tiny snapshot of where they're at currently... here is the most basic, simplistic way to explain NCT;
*NCT (Neo Culture Technology)* is a group unlike any other... they are under the SM Entertainment label and debuted in January of 2016.
Some recommends to get started;
*NCT U* - The 7th Sense (groups debut)
*NCT U* - Baggy Jeans (same member line up as T7S, but 7 yrs later)
*NCT 127* - Kick It
*NCT Dream* - ISTJ
*WayV* - On My Youth
*NCT Wish* - Songbird (JP ver)
*NCT DJJ* - Perfume
Although one-off solo projects are nothing new to them, NCT has also begun releasing official/promoted solo albums. Each of these is a good representation of the members own particular style/taste, which are VERY different from one another. 😄
Here is a sampling of some solos;
*Taeyong* - Shalala
*Ten* - Nightwalker
*Mark* - Golden Hour
*Jaehyun* - Smoke
*Yuta* - Off The Mask
*Doyoung* - Little Light
Hope you give them a chance! They truly are 25 of the most talented, chaotically funny and adorable weirdos one could ever hope for! 💚💚💚
(Side notes...
They're niche so far is pure R&B.)
Side quest...
Please correct the parenthesis about Mark, rapper*
@@teanis7706 omg i'm soo sorry. English is not my first language and in my language is spelled "rapero" so it was like an instinct. Now I feel super bad.
@nilmaryrivera8578 no problem, english isn't my first either. I feel you. Sorry if I seemed too rough in the way I said it.
@@teanis7706 don't worry. It wasnt rough. I just went in panic mode when I realized what I wrote.
27:27 the one doing the high note on this part is Jungwoo, the tall guy in the center...
NCT 127 is now 8 members (6 currently because 2 members are in the military) and NCT as a whole is now 25
let's make it clear pls: taeil is NOT officially convicted yet thus he still might be innocent (which i hardly believe for various reasons, but anything could happen:c ). don't forget about the presumtion of innocence and don't spread your thoughts like this until there's an official statement, cuz you can harm other people beside the guilty ones with your rushed words. i hope you don't take it negatively tho, it's just something my lawyer aunt always taught me🙏
Taeil is just under investigation at the moment. There's been no court and no conviction. Not to say he's innocent.
Why are you spreading misinformation?? He is out of the group because of sexual crimes which have not been stated yet.. ( we are not defending him ..but his case hasn't been heard yet nor has he been convicted or even arrested. )
He is under investigation.
@riomochi4798 the sexual crimes were confirmed months ago
