OSHO Dynamic Meditation - a revolution in consciousness

  • This meditation is part of the OSHO Active Meditations, a group of meditation techniques developed by Osho for contemporary people, involving physical activities which lead to an experience of silence and stillness. Osho suggests to start with the body, not trying directly to silence the mind which is almost impossible. These active meditations are “workouts for body and mind” and are based in the understanding that contemporary people cannot just sit down and enter a state of meditation or inner stillness and watchfulness, as our lives and minds are more restless than ever before. The intense physical activity is intentional and vital; it compels, drives and moves our bodies to be alive and natural again and enables us to let go of the endless mental chatter that has become so dominant in our lives.
    OSHO Dynamic Meditation lasts one hour and has five stages including intense catharsis, a tool to consciously throw out our anger, violence, madness and other repressed emotions. These emotions are consciously expressed, for our own well-being and also so that we don’t dump them on others. “My second step is a catharsis. I tell you to be consciously insane and whatever comes to your mind - whatever - allow it expression, cooperate with it. No resistance; just a flow of emotions.”
    OSHO Dynamic Meditation is a fast, intense, and thorough way to break down old, ingrained patterns in the body/mind that keep us imprisoned in the past, and to experience the freedom, witnessing, silence and peace that are hidden behind our prison walls. The meditation is meant to be done in the early morning, when we become more conscious and alert. You can do this meditation alone, but to start with it can be helpful to do it with other people. It is an individual experience so remain oblivious of others around you. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
    The meditation is to be done with its specific OSHO Dynamic Meditation music, composed under Osho’s direction. The music indicates the beginning of each new phase of the meditation and energetically supports each stage. Available as CD and Download:

    This is very similar to what we autistics instinctually will do during a meltdown experience. It is very difficult to do as our body and mind desires because these behaviours are seen as scary and dangerous by most people around us and they try to stop us from doing them. However, despite having no experience with OSHO I know that they absolutely help to clear energy and promote recovery based on my experience with meltdowns.

    Best experience ever. I did it for many years and will start again. It helped me to overcome shallow breathing. It strengthens your willpower to complete things and never give up. A life-changing experience, but only if you do it totally.

    It is one of the things that saved my life.. .In the Netherlands several policemen said, that if everybody would do this meditation, they would have much less work... Drugs would become less, alcohol drinking would become less, more people will live a life they like to live, more friendly, more lovingly...

    I have been taking a lot of stress and been anxious and lack of sleep for all sort of not so important reasons. But after starting this meditation i have been sleeping quite well and been less stressed about things . I would recommend it to people who want to try it .. it's totally worth it ..

    Hi I used to do dynamic when living in Byron Bay Australia. At an Osho Sanctuary about 25yrs ago. Gold coin donation only! Afterwards we would bathe in the ti tree lake then dive into the cool ocean. Perfect 😅

    Imaging method, when started to it my wife thought I gone mad but after seeing positive change in my mental health she was surprised. It’s imaging meditation for restless people like me. It can reverse heart disease also.

      @@Jhon_wick03 Of you find a way to let the meditation give energy and let the energy fill all of You, and then let out what have been hidden away. Then there is more room for what is created within to emerge and to come to expression.
      Maybe your dreams and visions will be clearer maybe they find another shape, for some they get reformulated from being totally fixed far away to become more about the journy You are on, and can commit to more every day to. Maybe it turns to the way that is impossible to deviate from.

    I feel like I'm only correcting one thing.
    Dynamic does not (necessarily) mean EFFORT.
    This word in the mind of Western man is immediately associated with TENSION.
    We know well that effort in the inner journey instead means SINCERITY AND TOTALITY, GIVING EVERY ONE but not necessarily creating tension for this reason.
    This is important to me precisely because Osho created this technique especially for the Western mind.
    And every time he spoke of effort he never meant 'tension', but totality in following the path.

    I suffer from debilitating chronic fatigue, so I just can't do all the intense movements in these dynamic meditations, but I also heard about his cathartic breathing method, and the emotional cleansing afterword, where you just express everything that comes up. I'm going to try that! There are times in my mediation where it feels like something wants to come out, is RIGHT below the surface, but it just won't. His breathing method might just be the key, for me.

      A friend invited his family to do it when they celebrated Christmas. Some thought it was crazy but some including his grandfather went full in. Maybe that is good every one needs to decide for themselves when it is time to open that lid. I thought about it for my family for a second and decided, nah, not to mention it.

    Hi everyone! I tried the dynamic and I have a few questions:
    - What it really means to be full aware or observative, is it the same?
    - How to be full aware and, at the same time, be total in your catharsis (2nd stage) when you´re supose to be so strongly emotional, or what about jumping with that level of tireness in stage 3?
    - Also in stage 4 my arms slowly went down because of the pain, should I raised them again, any tips?

    Hi! Everything is going great with this meditation except for one thing. I can't really do the jumping on stage 3 because I have some nerve problems in the lower back and so when I jump I get nerve pain down my legs.
    Instead I've been experimenting with replacing stage 3 with the first shaking stage in OSHO Kundalini meditation and just doing stage 3 by just bending the knees instead of jumping.
    Do you think that this is a good idea or may it be better to just go with OSHO Kundalini meditation instead?

      Regarding your question I would like to say that Osho has asked us never to modify the meditation techniques he devised scientifically.
      So I would suggest to you, 'listen' to your body, consider your condition and select any other of the OSHO Active Meditations which do not conflict with those condition.

    as someone trying this for the first time, I found it quite physically demanding when I got to stage 4, holding my arms in the air began quite painful after a few minutes.

    What if you get tired in between the stages? Do my eyes have to be closed the whole time? Is it bad if you can complete the whole 5 stages?

    I really do want to meditate, and the first person that has ever made me want to do it is Osho, but the confusing thing is that the idea of meditating just gives me anxiety 🤦🏻‍♀️ let alone this type of meditation. I really don’t understand why I feel in this way, there’s something disturbing (not in a negative way, ofc) about it.

    What can you suggest for a 70 yr. old with arthritic spine--neck--knees--etc. Very physically challenged but mentally alert. Have always loved Osho.What would i do at the Center or at home? Please help.

    What would Osho recommend for people who might have issues with breathing through their nose? I have a nasal issue due to a birth defect that impacts the amount of air that is able to go through my nose, so I never get enough oxygen from my nose alone. Can I alternate between a nose and a mouth breath? Any tips for when the nose isn't giving enough oxygen?

      Hi, you probably already know about the "Osho Chakra Meditation"..wanted to mention in case you have not heard of that one. That is done only through the mouth. I don't want you to be held back from doing some form of Osho mediation while you are waiting for a reply from someone who knows more about the "Osho Dynamic Meditation".

    Can't wait to find a group around me for that :) Question: I would feel like after the Dynamic Meditation to go one with some classical contemplation or "Vipassana" Meditation? When im in the mind-silent state 10 min are ... how should i say, frustrating :)

      OSHO International Same question here. I live in a town, where there is no Dynamic meditation, I cannot do this at home, the neighbours will call the police.. 😂 but I would like to do it.

      Hi @@verat.837, Are you sure the neighbours will complain? Why not try informing them in advance that you are trying out a new meditation and its a bit noisy? But if your meditation space prevents you from making noise, you can do this silent alternative: rather than throwing out the sounds, let the catharsis in the second stage take place entirely through bodily movements. In the third stage, the sound Hoo! can be hammered silently inside, and the fifth stage can become an expressive dance.       I have 3 kids 3, 4, and 11. I’m going to tell them we are going to play a game. Whoever follows the instructions the best wins. Whether they try hard or not i can concentrate on myself 🤣 i think they would LOVE an excuse to go crazy!!

    I did it yesterday but rn my neck and shoulders are in pain because I moved them too much like a sprain 😭 maybe I did something wrong I've watched a guided meditation in oshos voice but didn't know how to do it movements etc
