Another great video of you explaining what was going on with Bubba and then getting right into taking things apart .
Sometimes it takes patience and determination to get to the bottom of what was going on with the different things and then having common mechanical sense to fix things right and having pride in your work, doing it right and not cobbling it up. I have over the years, ran into lots of people that were never learned how to really do things right and they think that what their doing is just okay and that there is nothing wrong with how their doing things and I run into that so much doing electrical work, especially . I had several great electrical teachers and I have always got good complements from all of the electrical inspectors that I have dealt with on my jobs over the years . So many people anymore don't care, just get er done, whether it's right or not or how long it lasts.
So thanks Michael for taking the time to show us what was wrong, how that you figured it out and what needed to be done to fix it and then fixing it right or ordering new parts and will fix it right .
So thanks going out to Mike and Matt and Bill for this video .
Take care and stay safe and getting the equipment repaired and back to work, while joking, laughing .
    🤗👍💖💫

I work in a totally different industry but troubleshooting is the way I have learned so many valuable lessons. It may not be the fastest but in the end you now have a new skill to put in your bucket. Really enjoy these kind of videos. Just shows there are guys that still enjoy tearing stuff apart, save a few bucks and fix it themselves. Well done!

Oh Boy... Mike!! What can i say lol. what an awesome entertaining video. You and Matt are just awesome working together. Love these workshop videos and seeing how things are reverse-fault found in order to fix when a manual is not available. Thanks as always for sharing and Bubba should hopefully be fixed and a running soon!

It’s a good thing you pulled that last casing off. That bearing being out could have caused a major breakdown before long. You just as well fix it all right while it’s in the shop.

@@DirtPerfect when buying well used equipment i prefer to order a batch of gaskets and re-pack it in winter time. At best, you will have a leak free piece of equipment for the next decade. At worst, you'll find some wear and tear on internals that need attention while youre inside.
Either way, when youre done, youre good to go another 10 years.

This kind of stuff is what I started watching your channel for, honest attempts to fix stuff, where it doesn't always work on the first try, like the "real world" instead of some of these channels where they edit everything to look like it's all done perfectly, on the first try, in a few minutes. Plus, coming from the old school where I expect my co-workers to give me a running, smart-aleck commentary while working, it kind of feels familiar. Thanks for sharing.

Had a good one the other day, friend had just got a old motorcycle working and was about to go for a test drive, "So you gonna toss on a seat or ride her bareback?" Que his wife snorting and giggling like a school girl.
Sadly the test ride reviled he needed another set of forks to make the front end correct (~2 hours of trying different spacer combos), and last I seen he was rewiring the hand controls =/

As other have said . . . This was an epic episode. I appreciate you DIY maintenance work. I was 36 years in the military and often found myself doing whatever it takes to get my vehicles back on the road. While computers aren't for everybody, you do have one in the shop and a lifetime subscription to an electronic version of the service/repair/maintenance manuals for Bubba Dump can be had for under $50. Keep up the great work (even if you did put the caliper pistons in backward).

My only question is, where are the rest of the ball bearings and that they are not going to get up into the main diff? Very good thing that you are pulling this apart and fixing it correctly. The so called repair looks like they needed it running to last until either the job ended or the replacement truck came in. Thanks very much for sharing. Here's hoping she will no longer be a Bubba Dump by the time you are done and you will have a reliable truck.

Mike one thing I see is this Volvo truck seems pretty simple to work on. I mean it has some not common things like the air over hydraulic brakes but they are still a simple system to figure out. If you get a newer one I bet that everything has some computer/electric control that is not easy to figure out. when you get the bugs out this should be a good dependable truck for your usage.

I want to see the weld build up,drilling out and repluging the hydraulic galleries on those used calipers in the event that's the cheaper route to go, some sacrificial brass rod in the exposed galleries would connect the dots while welding and then drill out easily to restore the functionality

I hate finding where people have tried to cobble something together instead of fixing it right. They had it apart so why not use the proper parts the first time and not have to do the job twice when the homemade parts fail. Rigging up something simple is one thing, but something in a drive train that has that much pressure on it is ridiculous. By the way I figured all this out the hard way by trying to cobble stuff together in my younger years...lol.. do it right the first time and you save time and money.
