Black Sand Dunes of Harrat Lunayyir, Saudi Arabia (Moon Land) كثبان الرمال السوداء السعودية

Our Trip From Al Ahsa to Jeddah via Dammam, and to the lava fields of Harrat Lunayyir on our way to Al Ula.
Hidden in between the volcanoes of the Harrat Lunayyir lava field of northwestern Saudi Arabia 70 kilometers east of Umluj, is an incredible secret location - the black sand dunes of Saudi Arabia! Harrat Lunayyir means “the lava field of the moon,” and it definitely felt like we were on the moon!
The lava field contains some 50 craters from volcanic activities in the past 10,000 years leaving jet black, gravel-like remnants that form huge dunes.
I have been to places in the middle of nowhere but this one is the remotest. It requires off-roading through razor sharp volcanic rocks and with no cellular service, you better come prepared. Only a few people knows this hidden place so there's zero trash around, we only left footprints and tire tracks behind. If you are able to find its location, please be responsible and take your trash with you.

Hi there! This place is in Al Ais just east of Umluj. From Jeddah you'll need to travel to Yanbu then Al Ais.
