I'm old enough to remember when this was an open air shopping center with May Co, Woolworths, Grants, Butler Brothers and behind the shopping center a beautiful Bullocks store.
I worked at a couple places in the Mall during the 90’s JCPenney and Penguins Frozen Yogurt. Was a great experience for me. As time went on the Compton influence was felt in a huge way. Threatened by people over the amount of yogurt in their cup. People shoplifting from Penny’s also big deal. Too bad this was a great place

It still has an amazing 1951 era May Company building (now a Macys). Sadly the mall seems like it’s in decline though
At least this mall has more life in it than other declining malls I’ve seen, so that’s a good sign.
