I was the happiest I had ever been in my life. We were basically living g with each other for 6 months then out of the blue, she broke it off. I still have no idea why, here, 40 years later. Right now, I’m very happily married for 33 years. She’s divorced. Her husband left her. I feel bad for her. You never forget your first love. I was crying everyday for months.

It has come to my attention, that it's a huge shame that i see people with very low IQ'S and zero understanding, saying wrong things about this song, today. They don't take the time to research the true meaning of the lyrics, the song, it's creation, nothing. What a pity that they are so ignorant, but too bad, as they are missing all the magic!!! This is one of the greatest Love songs of all-time!! Reached # 1 -3 times, in several different decades, is pure genius in lyrics, music, counterpoint, and arrangement of instruments!!
