I'm an addict it was my 19yr old daughter that sent me this link!! She's so supportive I'm glad I have her in my life she's never let me down i can't wait to totally get rid of it and show her i do love her x
From a daughter of a drug addict who lost their own mother at 15, this helps on a different kind of level knowing other people have been through this❤️
As someone who has a lost a close family member to drug addiction I understand how hard this would of been for you and your family, so glad you are raising awareness xx
As a secondary school teacher I would love to show this series to our year 10&11’s . Raising awareness in a sensitive, honest and raw way. Fantastic and so inspiring. Well done 💕
I would absolutely love for this to happen (of course if schools would allow it) - the story of drugs & addiction shouldn't be hidden from children, we should be educating the younger generations. I knew about drugs from such a young age - obviously due to my up bringing but its moulded the choices I make every day growing up. I highly recommend getting in touch with Paul Hannaford who features in this documentary (info in bio of video) his job is to go to schools and educate youngsters/ tell his story. x
Paul Hannaford came to my secondary school when I was in year 10/11 nearly 10 years ago now and I can still remember to this day his captivating, chilling story. It hit home to so many of us in the room that day - highly recommend. X
I am a daughter of a mother who overdosed when I was 14 years old. I still remember it like it was yesterday. I can’t wait for the next episodes, this really puts my mother’s life in perspective and shows others how drug addicts life’s are like and how they are affected, like my mothers. I watched how she lived and I feel so deeply saddened by every person who has had or are experiencing it. I have never really spoken to anyone about the raw details of it all. Sydney you make me want to talk about my story too. One thing for sure is I wish I was and my family was enough for her to get help. I wish I could of helped her. Thank you Sydney for sharing your story.
Wow syd, I don’t often comment on videos etc but this one has really hit me and given me the chills. Cannot wait to watch the rest of the series and all the hard work you have put into it! An amazing light you’re shining on the subject and bringing awareness xxx
I hope your aim is achieved in preventing others from going down this route, you and your family and friends deserve all the praise in the making of this documentary series, not only is it incredibly brave on all sides but its also a topic with a lot of emotions from wider public and often of a negative stance, being able to show things from the family side is a strong message to all. Congratulations on having the strength to do so, your mum would be proud
I remember when Syd did her first video about her mum on the Syd and Ell channel - this has been beautifully shot and thank you so much to your friends and family for being involved ☺️
My mum also passed away when I was 14 due to addiction so I can relate to this so much and just want to say, you’re an inspiration and thank you for raising awareness ❤️ you and your family are so strong
So beautifully created. I know what it’s like to lose a mum. I lost mine almost 8 years ago in March to cancer. My mum was always strong and never complained about anything. To anyone who is reading this that’s lost a loved one, I’m sorry. You are so strong and will do your loved ones proud. Things do get better I promise, I can’t say you will ever get over it but time is a healer. I was 12 when she died and still to this day still don’t quite believe that she’s gone. Sometimes I don’t remember certain parts of her and it makes me sad but I just have to remember the good things about her like her smile and her belly laugh and her warm heart. This video is so sad but just an amazing production x
Just started this documentary Sydney and your strength is unimaginable filming this, you and your mum look so alike! Your mum will always be looking down on you in life especially when your bringing your child into the world
You are honestly incredible for bringing this to life , it really is amazing to see, i can't wait to watch and support you and i am so so proud of you and your family for doing this and i honestly know it will make a difference to peoples lives, love you so so much always
What an amazing way to use the platform you have earned, your family and everyone involved must be so proud of you. As are we your subscribers. I am in awe of your strength and thank you for bringing light to such a sensitive subject that has affected your life 💜
This was beautifully done - your family are so brave for opening up about something so traumatising. You should be so proud that you’re making this awful experience into something that can help others. Amazing family ❤️
Drug addiction is so close to my heart. Your mama loved you and would be so proud of you and all you’ve achieved and all that you are doing with your platform. Well done girl, sending you all the love in the world x
As an adult child of an addict this really hammers home. Incredible what you are doing Syd, raising awareness and digging deep into your childhood. I will definitely be watching the rest! Your mum would be so unbelievably proud of you x
This is so close to my heart, I lost my dad in 2016 and he had a long history of a drug and alcohol addiction for 25 years. It really did affect my childhood just like I can imagine it affects any child. So inspiring for this to be openly spoken about as I haven’t come across this on TH-cam before 💖
This is so powerful thank you for sharing this story with all of us! I lost my dad when I was 15 and he was trying to recover from a near 30 year drug addiction to heroin also my heart breaks for your family and its so special you are sharing this I went to a very posh school so no one really related to me with regards to my dad's addiction and then ultimately his death 💔 thank you so much for being so brave and sharing this x
This has hit me hard🥺 You are incredible for raising awareness about something so personal and heartbreaking. My brother suffered a drug addiction for 13 years and it broke our family. We are lucky enough to still have him here with us today after numerous close calls but I know others aren’t so lucky and it breaks my heart 🥺 I can’t imagine how awful this must have been for you and your family. It proves the affects drug addiction can have on not only the individual but the family that have to cope❤️🩹
Could never imagine how difficult all of this was and still is for you and your family but thank you for letting us into your world🤍syd you are going to change a lot of lives !! Xx
Same thing as my mum we have both had a very similar up bringing thank you for allowing us to see this and Showing people the impact drugs have on others and maybe they will see another side and not automatically assume the worst and judge straight away xx

Loved this video. Really sad what you and your family went through. Rip to your beautiful mum. Did anyone else get a problem with the sound? It was really quiet for me on my TV
As someone who was brought up by there nan because of my parents bei g addicts this hits home exactly what happened to my mum she thought she could save my dad and he abused her physically until she had no other choice but to participate she's gone and he's still here.... this series is gonna hit home well done Sydney for you're bravery and honesty I know how hard this must of been to make and I'm sure she would be so proud of u xxx
