This is a relatively common tactic employed by several haunts, and is often used in this manner to drum up anticipation for what lies inside.
I can't believe people are actually thinking that they're going to go and grab a random person from the crowd. That's a sure fire way to get sued because you don't know if the person has a medical condition this is obviously a cast member doing acting. In any event still a good time.
