    No big screen video , no security, no cell phones, no logo clothing, no digital anything, no water bottles, cheap parking, cheap tickets, limited food, limited bathrooms. This was the beginning of the 80s the sky was the limit.

    Philly was hot - two days, "slept" in a van overnight. Hoses yes. JFK bathrooms, all faucets on, water running out of the door like a river. JFK acoustics pretty bad, stones still rocked it. Can hear them now.

    I remember sleeping out in JFK parking lot for these tickets. Great party......I was 8th in line for tx.... shadoobee! The day of the concert it was hot as hell and the Stones rocked us something fearce. People were having heat strokes, they kept hosing us down and reminding us where the medics were. I never did soooo much blow in one day as I did that day. Great party, I love the Stones.

      They've got people dressed in plastic bags directing traffic. Some kind of fashion. Life is just a cocktail party on the street. I was 10 when the Stones did JFK in 81. It was a huge deal. Front page on the paper. ALL the 16 & older crowd went to the show & were blown away.

    I was there but had to leave early from heat exhaustion after waiting through 2 acts I could give 2 shits about. I remember during Thorogood and Journey the sound quality was crap. The wind would actually shift the sound back and forth. But when the stones came on it was full power and that cut through like a freight train. Loud clear and kick ass!

    • @PAULLONDEN
      @PAULLONDEN 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That might've been an often used trick by the soundmen ,,,make the supporting acts not too good ,so the main act would indeed "cut through like a freight train" ...even the Stones were by that time not above such tactics,....

      They filled this JFK stadium three years earlier in 1978. They played in Front of 400,000 in London in 1969, and also in Altamont in Front of 300,000. Toronto: 500,000 and Brazil before 1.5 million.
      In view of this huge audiences, the JFK Stadium concert above, is rather a small audience..... :-)

      Maybe... Most of us were there for the music, but others were there to raise hell. I was a 16yo girl, and I went on Saturday. My friend and I got separated by all the pushing and shoving on the field. I was up front, at the fence, packed-in with what appeared to be bikers in their 20's and 30's. One tried to assault me and, later, sucker-punched a 17-year-old I met there. Thankfully, the 17-year-old recovered quickly. He grabbed my hand and got us out of the crowd. We missed most of the Stones, though, thanks to that psycho. What a crazy concert...

Not to bring that dead horse subject up again But more just trying to relate life in general, the stones still touring, mega rich now and the whole sense of it all. I will say this the stones certainly were the luckiest band of them all...but geez to see mick running around in padded semi football pants here and just the corelation between like genius musicians, messages, etc and this band etc etc etc Maybe I will just end this with "its all bullshit kids"...LOLOLOL
