Well the military went north was mainly because of the the knowledge/ rumors of a cure.
And guess what the camp and the underground lab is basically at north. Also General Monroe stated somthing like that he was disappointed or shocked to know the fact that of all outposts the camp was taken down first.
Also port and the docks had five at max crawler quest and shadowy friend quest
deserts can be in the north, it is that they are just more commonly found near the south

Insolence castle from the hidden ending is the part of the South ruins
WHAT if? The south ruins are not just the hunt map, they’re the hidden ending boss fight map, due the castle like structure and LITERALLY filled with eyes, it must also be the south ruins.so in the boss fight TIO is chasing you in a manifestation of the walls that he lived in

My headcanon is that Tio was found snd taken care of By the family inside of the castle, where they used magic to create The Guards (like Gryffith, i think that was it's name). Tio was lonely since the guards kept possible friends Away, so tio began to draw. soon he drew mr stitchy, And through the magic he got awakened. Soon after the castle got attacked, Tio went to mr stitchy for help. but stitchy left, tio died there but since The place was full of magic. they went into tios dead body, transforming him into what we see now. as he was forced to be an imaginary creature since his physical body was destroyed.

So, there is one missing thing that you didn't mention; The Docks. The only reason why I think this is because of the graves there. It has 2 closed coffins and one open one. The open one is TIO's (most likely, and the closed ones are TIO's parents. (I kinda forgot the names, but still.)

It’s reasonable to believe that the insolence creatures with pig heads, like the sentinel and umbra trap, were the possessed Gryffyn statues from the hunt map/season 4. It explains why both the player character and Zizzy see the sentinels as pigs, even though Zizzy never had any defining moment with a pig besides Georgie. It’s because the sentinels WERE pigs, and they were either possessed statues or petrified knights.
My theory is the south ruins was first found by Eddy who was trying to stop the infection but failed and died in the Ruins whether being left behind by accident in the area or failed to survive what's in their and we will learn more about it in Intercity and explore it meeting new creatures
He was left to die by Eddy by accident or Finley couldn't help Eddy or Eddy went be himself or with duocara and something bad happened that limited his survival after all we don't know if he's alive we could find his remains there in Intercity with a note stating a warning
Also i want to note another thing that is very obvious
Mr stitchy is %90 is the secret easter egg in port chapter
I think after TIO got his powers after death attacked stitchy and stole/destroyed his legs and his mask
And stitchy had to retreat and hide in the port chapter.

The Insolence was one of the two titular Main Antagonists along side of Infection.
i remember seeing a video like this summarising both of the south ruins which was the same as medieval map and tios backstory about how he was the child of the king and that his friend betrayed him like Mr.Cheese said here but that then Tio which was the kid ran after Mr. Stitchy to look for him and that explains why some of the notes say in the medieval map that no matter what I'll find him it was something like that i forgot since i watched that a month or 2 ago and then that Mr. Stitchy saw him being chased and so stitchy cursed him but apart from that it made him more powerful which is why he became this person we know as now but thats just a theory i found in a different video

Its funny because I live in Chile so the south is cold and the north is dessert, but I'm glad I knew that Piggy takes place in the UK (I think...) so I'm not confused

This could explain why the detective ia the only human as knowing tio was seen as human in the drawings and knowing mr stichy destroyed tios kimgdom which xould hve been filled with humans hence leading to the wipeout of humans and possibly finley accidentaly taking us jnto the future where we dont remember anything

HEAR ME OUT: The insolence uses younger survivours like kids to get further up north to get people to go down south, now, what character do we know of, that survives in the cold, and could (if used correctly) could trick kids into joining the insolence? I have 2 options.
1. Frostiggy, could blend in with the snow, and get kids to get close, and if they dont want to, Frostiggy blends in with the cold, able to sneak up on them.
2. Krampiggy, Tricking kids their santa and are taking them back to their workshop,
I dont think Mr. Bliss is an option, due to him havign a weapon that cant easily be hidden or discarded

I think you're the one who's stupid here, south doesn't always correlate to Antarctica. What it more likely means is south as in south to the equator of the Earth where the Sahara is.
