waaaa looking at this I feel sooo satisfying and relaxed 😊 n 7:00 such sweet dad walking his son to bus stop n wait till he got in bus safe n sound n walked away
That's exactly what I do. Even at bus stops and traffic delays there are always interesting things and people to see. One thing I've noticed is the multiplicity of backpack wearers.
Thank you all for your comments. Glad you enjoyed the video! Watching people go about their day really does spark the imagination-so many stories in every little moment. It’s fun to wonder what everyone’s journey is 😊.
So evocative of the London stereotype. It’s been a long time since I lived there but I still remember those foggy fall days. Time to break out the jumpers. I’m sure you are aware and I know you will probably get comments about the captions showing the location. The last one I saw as approaching Big Ben was Kensington Olympia/Fulham Road.
@Americathebeautiful49 That classic London fog just adds to the charm! Definitely time for the cozy jumpers! Thanks for the heads-up about the captions, looks like the fog’s got even the locations mixed up! 😄 I corrected this now.
Used to work on this route in 1970 when it was the most famous route in London, from Brook Green Hammersmith to Liverpool Street . It was worked by three garages,Riverside,Victoria and Dalston buses were every 90 seconds in the rush hour and with traffic jams buses would come in groups causing the route to be called the banana road ! In 1970 we had the first British bus with overall advertising RM1737,I remember it well, queues of people waiting for it at Butterwick bus station . I worked at Riverside garage and people ask where’s that , it’s Hammersmith,Hammersmith garage was the trolleybus garage and Riverside the motor garage . It was built inside an old mansion and the signing on point was the old stables complete with horse retaining rings . O happy days all for £24 a week !
Thank you so much for sharing these incredible memories! It’s amazing to hear about London’s bus routes back in the day-what a bustling and iconic time that must have been. ‘Banana road’ is such a fitting name and the details about Riverside garage being in an old mansion with the stables still intact are just fascinating. Those truly sound like happy days, even at £24 a week! Thank you for bringing this piece of London history to life! 😊🚌
I believe you are the first to bring that to our attention. I commented also before I saw yours. Good catch. One gets caught up on the relaxing ride and sometimes misses the details.
Agreed - chill time! As previously said to @Wanderizm, this one was originally brought to the channel, a few years ago now, through a client who had dementia. Said client - and his wife - told me that watching the videos, riding on a bus, hearing the conversation brought him back. On this basis, this one has recommended the channel to other clients who have the condition (I refuse to refer to it as a 'disease').
@thisiszaphod Thank you for sharing that touching story. It’s amazing to hear how something as simple as these videos can bring back memories and comfort to those living with dementia. The power of familiar sights and sounds is truly remarkable. I’m glad the channel has had a positive impact, and it’s wonderful that you’re recommending it to others who may find similar comfort. 💙
1:35Just how inefficient are those useless stupid traffic lights. They were red for a minute and a half, then they were green for less than thirty seconds, then just as we got to the bloody lights they changed and we had to wait ANOTHER minute and a half!
Isn’t it fascinating to think about? London’s history is so rich-it’s hard to believe it was once a forest! It adds another layer to the city’s charm, knowing that nature was there long before the bustling streets.

love the magical effect of the lighted shops against the fog
The video truly didn't do it justice.
The quality of your filming is stunning! Your work should be archived for future generations: London as it was in the 2020th.
Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it!
Honestly amazing quality.❤

Feeling all relaxed now, nice video. I like to look at all the people too and wonder what they do and where they're going :)
When I tell my friends what I’m watching on YT they think I’m mad but I also find these bus rides to be very relaxing and meditative.

Thank you.
You're welcome!
Some much more to have sidewalks with business and shop windows than where I live with strip malls and huge customer parking. Loved the video.
Thanks for watching.
In the 50's,60's and 70's, London used to get a very thick fog called "pea soup" or "pea souper".
It's fascinating how much cleaner (maybe?) London's air has become since then!

I feel your pain! Those lights always seem to have a personal vendetta, don’t they? It's like they know exactly when to turn red! 😅
