I see training wheels as two people in a relationship but one has matured or gained the skills to maintain a healthy relationship before the other(in this case melanie). Training wheels is a representation of this romantically evolved person helping their other half also grow through the mataphore of the bike. At the end of the video, the boy (the other half) is shown to have gained this ability to love maturely when we see him riding the bike but the way in which he fades away maybe shows him either outgrowing her or leaving her with the skills she taught him to find someone else. Also, to me, the large eyes represent her being in love and as the boy fades her love fades :)))

I see training wheels as a symbolic song about wanting to movie forward. In this case Melenie ( Crybaby) wants to take the relationship to the next level but the boy is too scared to. The training wheels represent the relationship between them and crybaby wants to take the training wheels of, she want to move forward. But the boy doesn't want to let her. She is trying to convince him to take that step with her, she wants to ride a two wheeler. At the end, once the boy disappeared, I see that as being that he gave up and decided to just leave her instead of move forward with her because it was just easier to do so. This represents that their relationship ended.

This is such a good analysis of the Soap video! I think the reason why she is not in the bathtub, but he is, is because she was done trying to keep the faucet running/keep the water warm, so she decided to get out (and get out of the relationship). He's coming back into the tub to try and fix things, but it's too late, she's gone!
But in the end she appears in the bathtub again and kissing him, which led to Training Wheels, so she's not the one who left in the end.

I think training wheels represent caution in the relationship. Melanie says to her partner, “You’ve been riding two wheelers all your life.” Like, you’re used to this. You’ve been in many relationships. You’ve swam in that pool for many times. Whereas, she’s scared to jump because she doesn’t know how to swim. She’s scared off “taking the training wheels off” and drowning. But here, she’s saying that she will take off the training wheels for him. She’s willing to take that risk of getting her heart broken for him. She says, “fully undressed, no training wheels left for you,” in the same sentence because taking them off represent honesty and courage. Fully naked, fully honest. I am in it with you, for you.

Training Wheels is disgustingly underrated
when I watched the video I understood that the bike is like an ambitious dream of his, but he was too scared to risk going after it. she teaches him to go after his dream and not be afraid to make a mistake (scene where she takes the training wheels off the bike) and to imposed himself (scene where they put their foot on the trunk and then he climbs on). but when he finally manages to conquer his dream, he leaves her. then she is no longer blinded by love (scene her eyes go back to normal)
11:12-11:17 it’s gives me this push and pull vibe in the relationship and that they’re not on the same page. and later on I think it’s showing when he’s upset she’s happy and when she’s upset he’s trying to get her back. I think the way they did this was great

Going along with the perspective that she is pushing and pushing to help him i think him disappearing in the end was him figuring himself out and excelling way beyond what they imagined for the relationship. leaving her in the dust in a way right after she thought they finally hit the part in a relationship where they could coexist together.

the big eyes is to represent when she's in love. At the end of the video, she is no longer in love.
I think the training wheels represent “the next step” (sex) and Melanie wants to wait whereas the boy doesn’t, she wants to be in a serious relationship with him and is fully in love with him and out of fear of losing him she gives in. She’s pressured into sleeping with him and after giving up her body to him he just leaves. The line “no more training wheels left for you” in my mind is supposed to mean she’s not making him wait anymore. I feel like she’s agreeing to sleep with him if he agrees to take them seriously. At the end she’s left alone having given her virginity to him.
